I'd imagine, seeing how the game is free to play, with a cosmetic shop selling skins as it's main financial model, it'll probably start with some basic options, but probably also later have character skins in the shop, and perhaps useable in other game modes. That said, I only posted what I read elsewhere. The special OG season which currently is going on, but only lasts 1 month total until December 2, added some hyper customizable skins, with the Spectra Knight, with like 10-15+ colors across multiple options for coloring different areas of body parts + also a pickaxe and back shield with multiple options as well, + different helmet or body armor shapes, which I can see easily re-used for LEGO figure skins, as in coloring legs/torso and perhaps arms and other areas. AstroFalcon Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Leaks surrounding the Lego "mode" in Fortnite make it sound really big, closer to an actual game than a gamemode. Lego has just tweeted a pic of the llama so we're getting more news really soon. Quote
PGBQW Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I'm sorry for the person I'm going to become when the colab releases On 11/19/2023 at 3:43 PM, Classic_Spaceman said: Is it clear yet whether this will be LEGO versions of Fortnite characters/skins, or just existing LEGO characters (e.g. Ninjago)? AstroFalcon Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I genuinely believe Lego is not going to sell sets based on Fortnite Battle Royale. Sure, the partnership is happening but I think it's wildly different to what people are expecting. "Lego x Fortnite" will be an original Lego game, using inhouse Lego characters (and customisable player minifigures), with gameplay totally unrelated to Fortnite BR. As cool as sets would be, it's clear that Fortnite's guns and bullets, as cartoonish as they are, do not fit with Lego's brand and they have no intention of trying to sell any sets. Any sets that do come out will be based on these original characters, whether new or from Lego's back catalog. So yeah, don't expect Lego Jonesy/Midas/Battle Bus/Tilted towers. What we might get instead is sounding pretty special though. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Yeah, I’m not a “popular thing bad” type of person, but this is the first LEGO license I actively dislike The sets could - if they end up happening - have interesting parts, but this news sparks no joy Quote

The llama is promotion for the new Lego x Fortnite game and I think the Brickheadz will be based on that game too. Quote
PsychoBuilder Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 FF has confirmed there will be sets, but they might not be announced right away. Quote

Callistereo Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) What percentage odds do you guys think that great deku tree Zelda set happens next year? The 90' animated series batman set and the buildable Simba set turned out to be true so I hope that means the Zelda set is happening. With animal crossing getting sets in 2024 I also believe this adds to that set coming true Edited November 21, 2023 by Callistereo Quote

I don't know if it's supposed to launch a whole new theme or if it's just a one-off but there's one set at least which will feature 1920 pieces and will range from $200-$325, probably $250. It's a 2-in-1 model based on the Great Deku Tree. Just to clarify, I am not a Zelda fan and I have never played any of the games so I don't know really know much about what I've seen except that the description of the set that I was provided specifically called it the Great Deku Tree. There were two images of the set, because they give you enough pieces to make two versions of the tree. Just to clarify on the 2-in-1 aspect, it appears to be the same model which you can redress to make it look different. I don't think they actually made it so you could make both trees and display both together since there's just the one base. One of the trees was specifically labeled as designed from the Breath of the Wild game whereas the other came from Ocarina of Time. I don't know which is which but one version of the tree had an opening underneath the branches and had pink flowers. The other version had no opening underneath the tree's face and had green leaves instead. Whichever tree you make is featured on a base with the Zelda logo on it. As for minifigures, they don't have a count or any names listed but both pictures showed the same three minifigs. I recognized one as Link who has the short legs. The other two minifigures I didn't recognize so I had to look them up and it seems like they're Link and Zelda from the Breath of the Wild game because they both look like this wearing blue. There's also a light blue orb covered in white with a clear stand. I got permission from a moderator to share this information although I cannot share the pictures. As someone who doesn't really know much about the franchise, I must say that I'm quite impressed with the set so I'm hoping Zelda fans will be pleased with it as well once official pics or leaks are posted. Hopefully early 2024 Quote

Clone OPatra Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 The bots. They're learning. Thanks to the people who reported. I've scrubbed said bot, so now this conversation no longer makes sense. Funny how easy it is to spot AI-written language though. Eventually it'll probably get seamless. Quote
