Almost all of them look ready to be released as actual minifigures

That's what I find to be really impressive. The arm printing is where it would start and stop on a "real" minifig - even if it's not exactly how it looks on the "real" Fortnite character. Same with the leg printing. The Galaxy skins, which would normally be more transparent, look more solid - like it's just printing on normal plastic. Heads, ears, hair, and hats don't go below the shoulders on most of them, so the heads can turn, or so you can throw on a cape, or something onto the back (Axo is a good example of this - normally his "frills" would go lower). Parts that might have stood at rounded or odd angles on a Fortnite character are much flatter on their Lego counterpart to allow for easier printing (like Renegade Raider's goggles), or are just a simpler shape in general (like the peel on Peely's head). Existing pieces are used in a lot of cases - especially hair, but also some clever hat/hair combos that look really good. It's all been done extremally faithfully and respectfully. I imagine any hints at physical bricks won't come until at least the 7th when the Lego mode opens up... But this could make the Animal Crossing line look tame in comparison.

Even if you hate Fortnite, there's a lot of potential for plain City parts, space stuff, monsters, historic designs... I'm excited.

They are all either doable right now (albeit with some new prints and recolours), or with just one new mould; additionally, I see a lot of overlap with the ones that need new moulds (that is, the same new part is recoloured and used for another skin). They do have a lot of dual-moulding and limb printing, but nothing more than we typically see in CMFs, and many of the new parts (especially hairpieces) are easy to reuse in City/Friends sets.

Same! One in particular that I really want is Blue Squire, since his helmet (Sallet?) is one that we have been needing for a while; also, it appears to be able to fit over the standard armour piece!

Yeah I checked them all and the only who Im not 100% sure could be an actual minifigure is the half skeleton-half banana (?) character

Peely Bone. I wondered about that as well, but it seems that there is a pointed skeletal bit above the head on the figure’s right side; I can see that being moulded into the banana half to complete the antistud connection, and then the whole thing just attaches the same way the full banana costume parts do.
Alternatively, they could just mould the entire head and half-peel as a single part if there are concerns about the connection’s stability.

Don't wanna crash the topic but was there any leak / news about the Zelda Deku tree for 2024? Feel like we should've heard about it by now if it comes out in April / May? :oh:

Posted

More of a Fortnite question than a Lego question, but this seems like a relevant place to ask it:

Have they clarified whether any of the IP-based skins are getting the Lego treatment? I heard they're all ineligible to play with in the Lego mode for the time being, but have they outright confirmed that they're all being locked out of the mode entirely?

Never played Fortnite in my life, I just need some closure on whether there's a even a minuscule chance of us seeing Metal Gear, Street Fighter, or Resident Evil minifigures. Even if they're just digital, seeing a Solid Snake minifig would make me the happiest person on the planet.

Aside from Falcon Fan confirming that it won't be an early 2024 release, next to no info on the Zelda front :(

Unless some news breaks in the next couple moths or we start seeing some of the other leaked sets begin to get release dates, even a summer release is beginning to feel a bit unlikely at this point (plus, they're probably going to want to give Fortnite the spotlight for a while).

Per the official Fortnite Twitter account:

"Transparency matters. We’re going to expand LEGO styling as far as we can. Just keep in mind certain IP won’t be available in these styles."

My current thoughts are that licenses that are both in LEGO and Fortnite (Star Wars, Marvel, DC, maybe Indiana Jones, Stranger Things, or Horizon off the top of my head?) will be in, but nothing that LEGO hasn't touched/may be "too mature" (Halo, Resident Evil, etc). I did get all the Clone skins when they dropped, so I'd love to play the LEGO-fied versions of them (and get a 2020 version of the Wolfpack trooper too, haha).

Would be interesting if they had a playable minifig version of the fortnite optimus prime skin from like 3 seasons back (LEGO does have a literal optimus prime set) , but I don't expect it in physical form.

I 100% think you're on the money here. We'll see figs that already exist in lego form/are from a franchise lego owns- that said, there's still legal knots to be worked out, I'm sure- but definitely not for more mature stuff.

That said, just having lego and invincible in the same game makes me very happy, even if I recognize it's probably good we'll never get lego invincible.

Haha, yeah, it's wild to me that Master Chief and LEGO are in the same game despite Halo sets being made by Mega Construx- just fuels my hopes and dreams for a LEGO Chief figure... to finish the build.

That would be pretty neat- they do have the license and are designing these figures by the masses- but Prime being a one-off without minifigures makes me wonder if he could get a minifig version. In comparison, despite the Forbidden West set being a one-off to my knowledge, Aloy having a figure in that set makes it more likely for her to show up, same with the Stranger Things folk, IMO.

Honestly, halo being sci-fi and having cheif's bloody enemies be very alien makes me think it if it wasn't for Mega Construx, a Halo 18+ collectors set wouldn't be impossible. (Unlike something like invincible, which is just waaaaaay to violent, or games and shows with more explicit sexual content- that said, they did eternals sets, so who knows at this point)

Well, considering how dirty the Halo line's being done by Mega, hopefully it's a possibility one day. And based on some of these wacky Fortnite designs being done so well, I'd think it would turn out well.

He as actually fairly easy to cobble together with existing parts: Hair, Head, Torso (with dark grey arms), legs

That's a really solid... Snake minifig!

Also, that Title Card joke was quite funny haha.

What do you guys think? Any chanche we will get this gorgeous viking or at least his beard as a phisical figure?

Which figure? If it was one of the bigger Battle Pass items, I could see it releasing. Was there any more sets rumored other than the Battle Bus from a while back and the Llama? If they do a CMF or something similar I can see a lot of the flagship BP skins releasing.

Falconfan posted a picture with lots of characters. One of those is a gorgeous viking with a new blond beard and a really cool helmet. I don´t know anything about Fortnite, but this figue rocks.

I did a google on him: his name's Magnus, apparently, pretty cool design. Doesn't seem to be super popular but I could see it, it works really well outside of the Fortnite theme.

Magnus is one of the heroes in Save the World as well, certainly a cool Viking character, I assume he was part of some battle royale season at one point, as there was a giant viking ship on a hill with waterfall in the last special OG 1 month season map (November-December 2023) that brought back iconic locations from chapter 1, (I didn't start playing regular until last season of Chapter 3 (Paradise, with the map being taken over by Chrome as time went on), so I mostly know chapter 4 in detail (which started with medieval theme, into neo tokyo Mega City, into Jungle and then modern styled "malibu" Mansions with Heists)

I did like the Ageless Champion, knight boss and player skin from Chapter 4 Season 1, certainly could see it become a minifig skin, as it already was both a boss and skin in-game, could have various accesoires if made in physical, from a sword/shield, to a big 2 handed crystal hammer, or a sword gun, but I think the knight aspect works best with a melee weapon look.

I'm impressed about all the content Lego has provided free to the game

They could make something like Lego dimensions to monetize the skins

And have the win-win of selling minifigs and paying Epic games for being in the game

I don't know what is the business model of designing 1200 skins for free when the business model of Epic games is based on selling skins, weapons and other objects

Thanks for the elaboration! I played some STW but never encountered Magnus, he seems to be a shop item in Royale.

I really did enjoy Ageless Champion too, I rocked that skin for a good amount of time. Would love to see his rad helmet and melee weapon officially released. I'd also love Rust Lord and the new Lil' Split as figures, but I know they're maybe less obscure and might not make it into whatever this collab ends up being.

It would be an missed opportunity for Lego and Epic Games if they don't do exclusive Fortnite skins with physical Lego sets for Fortnite with all of the licenses that are showcased, imagine Lego My Hero Academia and Lego Attack On Titan figures

Dang that sucks, feels really bad that none of the leaks have come true so far, almost as if it was bait.

The full trailer is now out on Lego's Youtube page. I'm getting a lot of vibes of Minecraft from it - in a good way. I'm excited to get into it!

Also, looking through some of the leaks for the mode, there are hints at some Ninjago content with both the builds and enemies mentioned, and mentions of Falcon Knights and Fright Knights *huh*. Link to the list of names.

Also, here's a thought... What if the linking of the Lego VIP account could tie into this mode? We know that you can scan in instructions for VIP points, but what if you could also use this to unlock Lego-exclusive characters? IE, scan in a code from 71786, and unlock Zane and Pixal?
