I could see them doing the same thing they did for Peter Griffin and just make the character have standard fortnite dimensions- so like weirdly long arms and legs- but they'd still be claw hands and they wouldn't have knees. I think it could be pretty funny.

That would be hilarious and I would love it lol

Glad people like it, but I feel completely indifferent towards this :shrug_oh_well: With most new licenses, if I wasn’t already a fan, I’d at least check it out, but I don’t feel anything here

ironically, though I have long refused to play fortnite (though the back to back *title card* to lego crossovers are REALLY putting me through the ringer here... doesn't help that the only *title card* games are a garbage mobile one and some sort of dating sim), I am very interested in this theme. I don't think we'll see lego versions of the licensed skins, but there should be a lot of interesting parts, and it looks like any physical figures we do get will have printing out the wazoo (since the crossover figs based on appearances lego has versions of have the printing respective to said character, I'm guessing the skins we get will have arm printing and dual molding. Maybe it really will be a CMF)

A sticker sheet leaked featuring 8 figs, which could be a hint as to who'll be physically appearing (if anyone does- I don't think we have any leaked set numbers we think correspond to fortnite, right?). A few of the obvious ones are there- even I know Cuddle Team Leader, the fish dude, and Peely- but there's also a hamburger dude, some sort of raven type fig, and a couple human women with baseball caps. If these are hints as to the actual figs, the default skins are weirdly missing- Also, isn't there like a goo guy that's a big character? Like a minecraft slime in an exo suit lookin thing.

Title card?

Title card?

It's a reference to an animated superhero tv show/comic series that crossed over with fortnite right before the lego crossover. There's a running joke in the show (and in the comic a few times, though it's not as frequent), where the main character is cut off from saying his name- the show's name- by the title card.

I don't think so, unfortunately. Cross-license sets are really tricky- the only example I can think of is lego batman in the lego movie sets, and even then IIRC the same overarching company distributing the lego movies owned the batman movie rights, so it was going to the same place. If they were to, say, put fornite's goblin or spider man design in a lego fortnite set, even if lego was able to hammer out the legalese, now they have to pay a licensing fee to fortnite AND marvel. Either lego makes no money on the sales, or those sets would make the Hoopty look like a good deal. It's a lot easier for them to just put fortnite's own characters in the sets- after all, if a kid wants to use the spider-man skin in his fortnite sets, he can just go buy a marvel set. Lego still gets money.

Thank you for the instructions for the Llama! I built one (albeit with some mods because I was missing some parts), and he's super cute!

Is there any way to get those Minifigure torsos without visiting a store? I don't have any with minifigure factories near me, but if we don't get any sets, I want an official part for a minifigure lol.

Oh, got it, I didn't clock it as an Invincible reference at first, I thought you were talking about Lego haha.

So I usually just lurk here but I want people talking about this and no one is talking about this.

Now there is no Lego Batman in this game, no Lego Marvel, a single Lego Star Wars character so there's not a lot of "this is a character that is both Lego and another license". And this could be nothing. Maybe the TMNT can be Lego just for the purpose of a video game and then tomorrow Mega Bloks announce more sets. But this feels like something to me. And if there is any year for a return its now, this is like the last year we got TMNT sets in 2012. Huge revival for the series, first time in years the shelves are packed with their toys, this time its a movie with a TV show and a sequel incoming. And those are the actual head moulds and far as I can tell without seeing a back view the shells from 2012 too.

I definitely am getting my hopes up too much but... if nothing else comes of it this is a still a surprising thing to happen.

That actually is a really interesting observation. I'm not sure it means anything either, but it is quite weird that the singular crossover series in Fortnite to get Lego versions of the skins is TMNT when Lego doesn't even have the license currently. Also makes me wonder if we might see this with other series at some point, and if perhaps Lego versions of series in Fortnite might precede sets in the future.

no Lego Marvel

Phoenix, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America, Captain Marvel, X-23, Daredevil, Patch, Cable, Domino, Psylocke, Cap Falcon, Ghostrider, Green Goblin, Gambit, Rogue, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Mary Jane, Black Panther, Nick Fury, Ant-Man, Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Gamora, and Taskmaster are all available as well, as long as you have bought the original skins. Unless if you are talking about villager characters, though, in which case you are correct. I also imagine that more will be added with future updates from Star Wars, Marvel, and hopefully DC and other licenses as well.

For those curious, I went through the Wiki and found where each of the Lego villagers originate:

["real" Lego name/In-game name (set of origin)]

  • Hiker Guy/Silas (Series 16)

  • Birdwatcher/Robin (Series 22)

  • Farmer/Otis (Series 15)

  • Groom/Roan (Series 22)

  • Sprocket (Set 40409)

  • Paleontologist/Flint (Set 21320)

  • Archeologist/Petra (Series 13)

  • Pirate Girl/Sally Sails (Series 20)

  • Pirate Cook/Salty (Set 70413)

  • Snow Cap (Set 60194)

  • Jungle Explorer/Sawyer (Series 19)

  • Shipwreck Survivor/Carl Reef (Series 21)

  • T-Rex Costume Fan/Gus (Series 24)

  • Penguin Slushy Vendor/Slush (Set 60384)

  • Yeti/Yeti (Series 11)

  • Tiger Woman/Tabby (Series 14)

  • Lionbrand (Set 10305)

  • Gold Prospector/Nugget (Set 45023)

  • Dana (Set 7189)

And the list of Fortnite-original villagers are:

  • Aura

  • Beef Boss

  • Blue Squire

  • Brite Bomber

  • Cuddle Team Leader

  • Crystal

  • Hayseed

  • Meowscles

  • Peely

  • Frozen Peely

  • Sparkplug

  • Sunflower

  • Raptor

  • Rex

  • Skye

  • Blackheart

  • Calamity

  • Fishstick

  • Frozen Fishstick

  • Mazy

Notably, that's exactly 20 Fortnite-original minifigs at launch. It would be interesting if, come September, those 20 were used as a minifig series... Not a lot of my first picks, especially with two frozen duplicates, but still an idea.

My bad on the Marvel, just not any of the ones I have. And honestly, the lack of Darth Vader did make me assume it was not many Star Wars. I guess maybe its the ones from Battle Passes they will not resell that are omitted, and hey most of my Star Wars characters are from Battle Passes. Show me not to do research

But there is a point to be made that its two major Disney owned properties + Ninja Turtles.

Agreed with you on that, Bumblebee. The Ninja Turtles are a very odd license to add when the other licensed skins mainly fall into the disney camp, and it's not something like Mr. Beast where all they had to do was ask one guy "hey do you wanna be in lego fortnite". They had to negotiate with a whole other company, one that at least recently was having another company make it's building sets. I don't think we'll see lego Mr. Beast or any of the other smaller license groups soon, but lego ninja turtles does seem like it's potentially in the works here.

Is it possible that there are exclusivity arrangements with Lego DC/Marvel that prevent the Lego versions of those characters specifically from appearing in another company's games? The Ninja Turtles are one of the only franchises involved that has had Lego sets/figures in the past and yet has NOT had a Lego licensed video game produced by TT Games.

I mean, we have a ton of lego marvel figs in fortnite, so definitely not marvel.

I hope I'm not setting myself up for disappointment, but now there are only three sets left from the survey leak that are still unaccounted for, the Deku Tree being one of them. Fingers crossed it's gonna get confirmed soon too!! :excited:

it is weird seeing current version of TMNT in Lego form, when the IRL version is from the 2012 series

I think it's quite cool they stay quite faithful to the original figures, but I don't think anything that appears in Fortnite is any indication to re-appear in LEGO sets.

There seem to be exclusions on a per-skin basis, as Spider-Gwen, or Ahsoka definately had multiple variants of minifigures, but not in-game in Fortnite.

I'm not sure if it's just those too specifically, but those skins were both part of a Battle Pass in the past so maybe that's why? I guess it'd make sense to prioritize other characters where you can actually still buy them in the shop at some point (for those who don't know, skins in the Battle Pass can't be purchased once the season they were introduced in ends).

I 100% agree, and I'm not really sure why this is being debated at all. The vast majority of the missing SW/Marvel skins were those in battle passes, and I don't believe we have a single battle pass licensed skin in the game as a lego figure, at least not one pre-lego update (That said, while I've seen a lot about the figures made for the lego update, I don't play the game, so I don't know for sure.)

Posted

Its definitely the battle pass thing, I made a mistake in thinking Marvel/Star Wars were not in there because all of my skins from them are battle passes (plus Loki from Fortnite crew, which has in common that they will not be resold). I will keep being embarrassed the more there is discourse from my initial comment and not the corrected reply :)

I’m still shocked that the preliminary photo actually featured a BotW Link and Zelda, that’s insanely exciting. I was too young to play Ocarina of Time and BotW really hooked me on the series as a whole, so that side of the set alone has me sold.

We’ll probably get new moulds for Link and Zelda’s hair, and it would make sense for the Master Sword to be a new piece too. As much as it’d disturb the serenity of the Deku Tree setpiece, it would be nice to get some sort of ‘bad guy’ for Link to fight, like a Bokoblin or something.

If LEGO is making new moulds for the Deku Tree set, I hope that means we will get a full Zelda theme in 2025. One can dream, right?
