Minifigures could be kinda cool to have, especially now that Zelda and Animal Crossing have them (creating crossover potential), but I doubt they'd ever have as much set potential as the digi-figs and brick-built enemies have. This. All of this. The digi-fig may not be the most charming thing on its own (and it's extremely gimmicky), but dang if it doesn't make playing with a Mario LEGO set feel about as close to playing a Mario game as could reasonably be achieved. Conversely, for Animal Crossing, just playing with them as LEGO is pretty close to the game experience already. For Zelda, we only have the one display set so far, but I hope if they continue, they bring in puzzle elements as play features. Quote

I mean, on one hand The Witcher is bloody, has sex and violence, and definitely has a lot of mature themes... but on the other hand, wouldn't it be cool to get a Geralt minifigure with a buildable Leshy? I feel like some franchises can be too dark for LEGO, but a lot of them have potential for some really cool sets — The Witcher, God of War, Baldur's Gate. It's not like the LEGO sets would include blood and naked minifigures. Then again, LEGO will never touch anything an R, TV-MA or PEGI 18 rating — and I respect that. The same goes for Mortal Kombat as well, even though it’s owned by Warner Bros., who have a great relationship with LEGO. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 There's a Nintendo Direct tomorrow, I wouldn't be too surprised if they show off the Lego Zelda set there, though because it's already been revealed anyway it'll be kinda pointless to use here but I thought I'd still point out the possibility. Well that didn't happen but it wouldn't really have made much difference I guess. Though now we the next new Zelda game announced since the Official Lego and Zelda collaboration was made public. I wonder if we'll get anything from Echoes of Wisdom. Another version of Zelda would be good and seeing how she is the protagonist it seems likely if they do make a anything for this game. A more 'classic' looking princess Zelda would Pair well with the Ocarina of Time Link. Quote

Echoes of Wisdom does look like it could have several instances of "building" in it, which could translate well to Lego - but it's not like we got Mario: Wonder sets when that set released. I am very interested to see how that game goes though. Part of me worries that the game could be far too easy since it seems to give you a lot of tools, but they were able to avoid a lot of those issues in Tears of the Kingdom, so I'll remain optimistic for the time being. Since this theme is going to be a Lego Store exclusive (at least, according to the rumors), there's probably less avenues that leaks can come from. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get any more info until they are officially revealed - which is still a few months out, if I had to guess. Quote

Oh huh, I didn't realize it was supposed to be Lego Store exclusive. That's such a bizarre decision, you'd think they'd want Fortnite of all things on every shelf they can get it on. Quote

I wouldn't be to surprised considering that Fortnite is a shooter game, y'know, something TLG has almost never thought about touching upon, so it's probably a marketing decision made so that they could reduce the violent connotations that a Fortnite theme could imply as much as possible Quote

Meaf Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Lego Fortnite doesn't even need to be based on the shooter parts either if they really don't want to. I imagine it will be at least somewhat since that's mostly what Fortnite is known for, but they could totally just draw on the Lego mode of Fortnite for the sets. Edited June 20, 2024 by Meaf Quote

If you're interested in smaller lego youtubers, a channel named "Minibricks" made a pretty good mock-up of what a wave of Fortnite sets could realistically include since they cut back on the main weapons and have a fair amount of wacky stuff like fishing rods and harpoon guns Edited June 20, 2024 by FinlayTheFaithful Quote

LEGO mode is still very much seperate from the shooter mode, only thing that happened lately was a LEGO build in the level 1 battle pass as a bonus, and the chewbacca having a normal skin via the LEGO pass. As far as the LEGO sets go, maybe they'll add a new zone in the LEGO mode of the game after summer, when the current LEGO pass of Star Wars is over, they basicly put most of the Star Wars content in the game on a seperate island with fast travel via a cave, so they can add loads of themed islands that way in the future. Meaf Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I think based on the set list at least some of them are definitely based on the battle royale mode, so it isn't like they're avoiding that part entirely. But as has already been mentioned we have had other themes with plenty of guns before (Overwatch especially comes to mind) so it's probably not an issue either way. Quote
Space Coyote Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I don't mean to change the subject but I'm excited about the summer Minecraft sets. I'm looking at getting the little pirate ship and camel but I may wait and save up for the Badlands Mineshaft (21263), that's an amazing value you get so many mobs and a sweet mine for just 60, it's practically a steal compared to that Red Barn set from a while back. Sorry if I'm trying to talk about this in the wrong place but I didn't see a thread for the 2024 sets. Any of you folks like Minecraft and got the badlands set from this latest wave? I'm curious what real people think of this one. Quote

As for this year's sets I've bought the smallest one with the phantom and the camel. 1 hour ago, TheMaskedMan00 said: lego zelda? must have been living under a rock, i've never heard of those even existing. Meaf Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 I don't think this necessarily means anything, but apparently datamining the new Fortnite update has revealed that they are probably adding Lego versions of the Dragon Ball skins. Quote
