Maybe the whole things about exclusive minifigs means we'll get the other new minifigs somewhere else...? Like they don't say "4 exclusive minifigs" they say "4 new minifigs you'll find exclusively in this set", which seems weird to me... but, I dunno

Well, that two seconds of the set on Oliver Phelps's IG already looks significantly better than the leaks. That being said, we haven't yet seen the HD gelatinous pink cube...

Why does the video show the 2011 Fred/George minfigures under the actors' names lol

Does anyone know if we are getting anything free by buying DA on LEGO site with VIP account?

Wow, exactly 600 pages on the official reveal!

Edit: oh wait, not official yet

Indeed it does! I'm sure the good vibes will be there once the high quality images are released.

Just woke up, are we seriously not going to get to officially talk about this set until August 31st? ?

or is it actually coming out in the 31st and we’ll hear about it beforehand?

You would think they wouldn’t hint at a reveal an entire week before hand. I really see no benefit in not announcing it until literally the day it releases

What a bizarre announcement. Unclear wording. 3 minifigure reveals. One quarter of the set revealed in the foreground of a video. Links that go nowhere.

I'm perplexed by how this has been handled so far.

All the wording to me on both the Lego webpage and the email they have sent out suggests that the countdown is until the QR code works and VIPs get to see a video with James and Oliver Phelps looking at DA and asking the set designers questions, which are obviously the ones chosen from that VIP questions link. After that I presume it will mean DA will be released the next day. Will VIPs get a period of exclusivity and then the wider release will be later in September? Who knows. But I can see there being a real scramble for the set, especially as more people will be ordering online at the moment when before they may have gone down to a Lego store on opening.

Just finishing work for the day, so catching up. All very confusing...but also strangely exciting. Is it by accident or design that they've got Fred and George leading the chaos?

Me too. If I imagine I'm an casual consumer who has heard nothing about DA before now I don't think I would think anything of the reveal to release timing as such. This would be the first inkling I would have got of a new set coming and a teaser and then a few days wait wouldn't seem out of the ordinary or a bad idea for the full reveal. So okay so far. BUT I would still be perplexed by the ambiguous wording of the tease (is the countdown to reveal or release?) and the fact that there are dead links. Why not put the QR building instructions up now and then tell people to come back after the countdown and then the link to the video will be available? Would make things a whole lot clearer.

So to me the reveal is messy at best. But of course to those of us who have been following the leaks it just feels even more strange because we know of how Lego has messed up with other reveals lately, such as the CMF, and so this one seems incredibly drawn out and asking for trouble when we also know that having everyone cram onto the Lego website is going to make it clunky or crash just when people are about to want to purchase the set.

It's also unclear when this set will be released. From LEGO's teaser I'd say it's getting both revealed and released on August 31st but a lot of (recognised) fan media are saying it will be revealed on the 31st and released on September 1st. They had something really simple and made it incredibly confusing for everyone :hmpf:

Exactly. You really do have to wonder about Lego's marketing sometimes. When Recognised Fan Media (i.e. Brickset) are also disallowing and deleting comments about the set that make any reference to the leaks it just shows how crazy the situation is.

Hmm, Diagon Alley? That could definetely be interesting but would it be minifigurescale of microscale? :sceptic:

Duplo

Lego hasn’t posted on social media yet. Maybe they will clarify something later today?

also, interesting that they reference going through the Leaky Cauldron brick wall in their promo, yet it doesn’t exist in the set ?

They tweeted (unrelated to DA) but haven't posted on IG yet.

Ugh, this reveal has been weird. I just want the mainstream world to be excited, the people that aren’t following leaks. Not being able to talk about the set officially until it will literally be in our hands takes a lot of the fun out of it ?

Though to be fair, if the set wasn’t leaked this would be fairly exciting haha but it’s unrealistic to think the entire week before the set launches you are going to keep everything under wraps

Messing with some more buildings for DA while we wait.  Eeylops WIP.  Not a lot of pieces come in lavender; or not enough anyway.

Why? I'd say revealing it tomorrow (1 week before release) would make more sense than revealing it today

Does anything make sense at this point in time? It would have made sense revealing it 1 month/3weeks/2 weeks before release, none of which they've done. They usually reveal things 2 weeks before. If they're not revealing now, it seems there is a different reason they're holding off, which means they're holding off as long as possible, the potential reason as explained in the rest of my post.

I’m really confused why they specifically mention the Leakey Cauldron and the brick wall when neither are included in the set
