Diagaon Alley ought to be a bit higgledypiggledy and there needs to be some depth. What's awesome about this is it makes it really easy for them to include some actual street! So it's not just some buildings, it's an actual alley. IMO it's going to be like with the modular buildings with interchangeable spots to out them all! Also yeah, the fronts will probably have fronts protruding (?) more or less depending from the shop! My only question is: could it be that we might actually not get the Gringott bank right now? Because, thinking about it, I can imagine having the Gringott as a different "modular" HP set with the next wave (or the one after that)!

Because, thinking about it, I can imagine having the Gringott as a different "modular" HP set with the next wave (or the one after that)! Hmm that's an interesting thought. I feel to get the Gringotts we know, it wouldn't be connected to anything (from the sides at least). And they can't really add pins to just pavement either side. Gringotts, while arguably the most important building to include in a DA set, is also structurally the most sensible to omit. It would allow for more shops in DA and also potentially for Gringotts itself to be larger in a separate set (since there's so much inside). They could however have it significantly protruding out from the other shops (to obtain the trapezium-shaped front) and then connect further back. That'd look really cool all next to all the others actually. Edited April 10, 2020 by sammy_zammy

I hope it's included, if not that would definetely detract from the set as Gringotts is easily the most recognizable/iconic building in Diagon Alley. And imo it doesn't have to be connected to the rest of the shops via technic pins, it was a standalone building in the GWP as well.
Balrogofmorgoth Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Well this pretty much confirms it’s not microscale which is good. Technic pins will be nice for displaying the buildings and for possibly adding more later

It's important to remember that this is a $100 castle set with 971 pieces (about 100 more than the GH) and 8 known figures (possibly more). 5 definitely have new and exclusive costumes (Harry, Hermionie, Neville, Luna, Malfoy), Slughorn will need at least some new printing to differentiate him from the Bricktober version, Malfoy, Lavender, Neville, and maybe Ron (depending on wether he is in the Burrow set) are all exclusive characters (in this age range) that will need new faces and I'm sure LEGO won't be able to reuse faces for all 4 of them. That's a lot of new exclusive prints in a set that also has a really good price to piece ratio (for a castle set that will likely have some large panel pieces). With all of that (and possibly another unknown figure) I'm not sure the budget would allow Ron to get new prints for the quidditch robes or his casual clothes.
deskp Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I thin Quidditch Ron is a perfect CMF variant. Can get the praetorian shoulder pads in brown.
Fuppylodders Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Sorry if it's already been stated somewhere, does anyone have any idea when the rumoured d2c set is to be released?

It’s probably the one that would work best on its own and it would open up a lot of space for other things in this set. It will probably be included though. It’s too iconic to Diagon Alley not to be a selling point for his set. It grabs the eye the most

hoiharry Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Maybe the shops will be a bit like the modular buildings

It grabs the eye the most I would guess it will be included because of how iconic it is, but probably just with the lobby as an interior similar to the last Gringotts. I'm predicting next year we'll get a Gringotts Vaults set with a short section of the new(ish) roller coaster tracks, the Lestrange Vault, and the dragon.

thenudeorganist Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 (edited) So, there's a post under the hashtag "legoleaks" saying that set 75978 will be Duel in the Ministry Atrium (60€), 75980 will be Burrow (100€) and 71045 will be DA (400€) Edited April 10, 2020 by thenudeorganist

That account has now posted some images of presumably the characters included. It's a new account so I guess that means it's probably fake. Especially as the only Weasley's being Arthur, Molly and Ginny doesn't seem likely. Edited April 10, 2020 by sammy_zammy

On the other, as much as I'd love to believe this, there simply isn't much evidence in favor of this aside from one kingnono hint that could go many different ways.
Balrogofmorgoth Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Unless a reliable leaker confirms a Ministry Battle set (which I don't find likely at all), I will not believe it exists, as much as I would love one. I don’t know what to believe about set numbers anymore, everyone seems to have different info on those
Brickity Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 I like the idea of an atrium set as well, but at that price it’s a lot less believable to me.

Well sometimes they make them for BAM later.. 17 hours ago, Huigberts Builds said: I don't think this theme will go anywhere anytime soon. It sells too well, Lego must be crazy to end it already. I'm sure there will be at least 2 other years of new sets before they can remake a few of them, and there's still Fantastic Beasts for a couple of years. And there are also mobile games they could base tons of sets on if they're running out of ideas. I agree, as long as it sell they will make sets 17 hours ago, sammy_zammy said: Does that mean it sold less well in the first reboot then? I guess it was because there was no new movie, whereas now all that was needed was Fantastic Beasts to initiate the nostalgia. I do not remember exactly, but I think the first wave sold crazy well. Then for the next wave (or the next one) they made a lot of sets, however they where released in a year that did not have a HP film. Without the hype from the film the sets sold poorly, so they got burned. After that Lego made fewer and fewer sets to go with the next films until they stopped. Then for the 2 last films they made some best of sets from different films and a D2C to go out with a bang. I think the last waves did well, but it was not in TLG mind to release more sets without new movies.. Then as time goes HP get more and more fans, the kids growing up with it, start having kids of their own and the demand for HP Lego sets are increasing. So FB was probably the excuse they needed to start again, but even without FB I think they would have tried eventually

I don’t understand why some folks find this set so hard to believe. This new LEGO series is largely focused on OotP and the Ministry Duel is the climactic scene of that film. The build will almost certainly be centered around the golden Fountain of Magical Brethren statue and probably feature a semi-circle of tall bay windows set in emerald green bricks representing the Ministry offices. Probably will include a London phone booth too. Minifigs could include Voldemort, Dumbledore, Harry, and a pearl gold centaur, wizard, and house elf as the statue. I imagine a build similar to the Basilisk in bright orange to represent the fire snake Voldemort conjures. It’s a smart decision because it also provides a play set for Kingsley, Arthur, Umbridge, Fudge, and the other Ministry characters to interact. Edited April 10, 2020 by sebastian666

No one believes it because not a single reliable leaker has mentioned it. If it did happen, I would MUCH rather it be the Department of Mysteries with characters like Sirius, Lucius, Death Eaters, and DA members. Maybe the fountain as one of the builds to add more to it. But Dumbledore, Harry, and Voldemort would pretty much all just be repeats of versions we already have so they would waste some good minifig slots
