I've seen on Instagram that the official listings and pricing for the next Marvel sets have been released, any chance for something like that for the Harry Potter ones?

Maybe today?

I'm otterly bored

I think the AT, forbidden forest and RoR will be day one purchase for me, as for privet drive I’m skeptical about just the thought of it, but we’ll see.

Same for me, I'll probably just bricklink the Dursleys

Does LEGO reveal these things on a certain day of the week? Last year it was a Wednesday (the 25th of April).

Nope

No, but it's when we should expect those pictures. Certain themes have certain level of security, the more Lego doesn't want to reveal them the longer we wait. But they all leak before end of April, so two weeks is a maximum.

My compliments to @Legoniche, I have to agree to everyone who already said that your design would be a phenomenal one to pick for the final product! I'm a big fan of setting buildings to baseplates in that Creator Expert modular style that @sebastian666 suggested as well. A big D2C which is that expensive feels like a much bigger value if everything is altogether instead of having several separate parts imo. I wouldn't mind as well if they were fully enclosed with each single floor to come off. But I guess that's not what we get for "just" (strong word in that context) $400.

Thank you! :) I get exactly what you mean, it needs to be substantial for that price haha. But I’m glad it’s given you guys an idea of what it could look like and at the very least, something to talk about otter than otter puns haha.

Wow! This is really well done! Almost exactly how I imagined it after reviewing the Creator city sets last night. And I love how you’ve incorporated the brick walls at the beginning and end of the block to make it feel like a tight alley. With all this talk about who the official designer of this set is going to be, I’d be perfectly happy if it was you! Can’t wait to see the finished product (and any other Harey POtter mock-ups you are working on ). Keep up the great work.

Thanks so much @sebastian666 it honestly means a lot to me :)) I foo am a big fan of the creator sets, and strongly believe it would work really well in this form as a scaled up version of the GWP, I aim to have it finished by the end of the week!

Do you think that we will see the sets leak before release like they did last year?

We always do. Set images always leak before official reveal and official release date, it rarely happens that Lego reveals them themselves, mostly with single or big sets.

I’m most excited for the burrow which I assume will be in the smaller August wave as the previous version is a set I regret not getting and it’s quite expensive now.

There is a good chance the Burrow is part of the june wave

Regarding the burrow set:is the information about it's existence legit?

It's not "confirmed" confirmed, but minifigs of Arthur and Molly have leaked that don't fit anywhere else. Plus there's the leaked Bellatrix and Greyback minifigs that can't be from the D2C because that'd be way too early. Combined, these leaks lead to only one conclusion

I'm probably most excited about the burrow set aswell. It was the first LEGO Hare Otter set I ever played with as a kid.

Me and my brother had just learned of the franchise and watched a few of the movies. We then went to a LEGO store about a week later and discovered that they made LEGO sets for it (I'm pretty sure it was the week the 2010 sets were released). My brother bought the Burrow and I bought the 2010 Swamp Speeder from the Star Wars line, which ended up being the last SW set I bought for a decade (all the way through my LEGO dark ages) until a week ago when I bought the millennium falcon.

Not only am I hyped for sentimental reasons but the burrow was one of the two childhood sets I was working on rebuilding a few months ago before I had to put all of my misc LEGO bins into storage for a move, and I was really struggling to find all of the dark red pieces for the roof. Actually the other set I was working on finding parts for was Diagon Alley so it seems like LEGO is rereleasing things that I struggle to rebuild. Maybe I should start trying to rebuild my kingdoms sets so that theme can get rereleased.

Unpopular opionion, i'm actually disappointed if it's true with a D2C set on 400 dollar(?).

The Hogwarts castle is already a expensive set, but I've plan to buy it otterwhise. But diagon alley must impresse me really much if i decide to buy it. I hope the earlier rumor about that will be a 200 dollar(?) set is true. It's much more realistic in my opinion.

But i'm really excitet of the forbidden forest set!! I'm so happy that we will get the centaturs, now i'm planing for a forbidden forest moc!

Yeah, The Burrow sounds like it'd be a great set.

As I said a few pages back, now is the perfect time to get into Lego Harry Potter! The Burrow and DA are the sets I feel I missed out on so if the leaks are correct, this year's got me covered - and better!

That's a surprisingly recent time to come out of your dark ages, a week ago! I'd say mine was probably 2012-2019 as I became more interested in Nintendo through middle/high school. But I'd almost say I never entered them properly, as I still got the Winter Village sets every year (or for the Station and Fire Station, the following year because of FOMO!) and when I saw Dinosaur Fossils I knew I had to get it. But when I properly got back into it was definitely the last week of 2019 when I started collecting the Harry Potter sets. Now I've become properly interested in other sets as well, namely the Chinese New Year ones, the Tree House and Pirates of Barracuda Bay, and maybe the ISS - all of which I hope to save up for over the next few months before I move onto this year's HP stuff. It's sometimes a bit easy to get overexcottered though - I have to remember I don't have to get every set just because it exists! But yeah, so welcome back from a fellow newbie!

Lol, if you're rebuilding stuff that seems to get rereleased, please could you build some Indiana Jones stuff for me?  In all seriousness, Castle/Kingdoms is something I was never bothered by as a kid, but would love to see come back. If Barracuda Bay is anything to go by, hopefully classic themes like Castle, Western and Pirates may come back - perhaps with a big set to kick each off, like Barracuda Bay could be if Lego see the interest in it. I'd also love an epic Johnny Thunder standalone rerelease - that would look so cool in today's style, and they could try and incorporate multiple sets into it!

I really think I picked the perfect time to get back into Lego.

I don't think that's unpopular. But I do see the $400 thing happening, as it seems the best way to get a good representation of all of DA. Having said that, splitting it into two $200 sets over two years could work - but I don't think selling each building individually would, as we discussed a couple of pages back.

I'm excited for the Forbidden Forest too. Although it's small, it sounds like otter'll make a really great scene with lots of creatures.

I Actually I got out of my dark ages in mid 2018 with the HP reboot. The 2019 millennium falcon is just the first Star Wars set (or any non wizarding World set) I've bought since. Actually I think I did get a small non-wizarding world set in 2018 to apply for the bricktober promotion which (of course) was announced after I bought the HP sets (except for the $400 castle) and forced me to buy the FB sets and something else i can't remember in order to get the bricktober figures.

I (or more accurately my brother) did have a number of Indiana Jones sets as a kid (Fighter Plane Attack, Ambush in Cairo, the Lost Tomb, Temple Of Doom, Venice Canal Chase) but I'll probably avoid rebuilding those as I'm looking for stuff to sell at the moment to afford Diagon Alley (or just life in general if my work gets affected by covid this summer) and I don't want to risk future me selling those. I've already decided to part with at least one of the two loose copies of the Shadow ARF trooper polybag I won at a LEGO event as a kid and some Minecraft sets I acquired off a friend who lost interest in LEGO a bit later than me for $100 (also included in that deal was Endor Village, the Simpsons House, and a few otter things including the 2010 Lastrange dress slope which will be useful soon. LEGO deal of the century tbh).

Anyone else sacrificing old LEGO sets to the Alley?

Ah I understand now. I guess I've come out of my non-Winter Village dark ages.

I was lucky enough to get all the Indiana Jones sets as a kid - except for Fighter Plane Attack and Peril in Peru. I in fact just bought Fighter Plane Attack off someone on eBay as I kinda regret never getting it (£25 for very good condition, just missing a couple of easily Bricklinkable pieces - my first ever auction bidding and a bit of a bargain!) and so I'm going to alternate between Harry Potter display and Indiana Jones display (when I can finally get home). Not bothered about Peril in Peru as it's expensive and not even from the film, so I'm happy :sweet:

That's an impressive haul off your friend! Congrotterlations!

I'm not planning on sacrificing any old Lego sets specifically for DA - I sold my Lego City Police/Fire and Mars Mission a while back to my half-brothers, and kinda regret it - not because I would ever really put it on display again (although who knows, maybe I'll have that sort of regret that luckily my Mum prevented me from getting by making sure I didn't sell my Lego!) but more because I'm not sure they looked after it/enjoyed it as much as a collector on Bricklink or eBay might have. I did aquire the 8480 Space Shuttle from my cousin years ago though, and probably will never build it, and they go for quite a bit boxed and complete used - so I may sell that and put it towards DA, but I've been planning on this for ages. But I don't think I'll be likely to sell any of my Lego in the future as I know I'll regret it one day, and in my head I'll one day have a child who will play with and love my old Lego sets isn't allowed to touch any of my old Lego sets on display in glass cabinets

Yeah, I had my dark ages between 2010 and 2016 which was probably the time when the best City sets they ever made came out *huh* So now I have to bricklink the single parts for them in order to avoid paying excessive prices for MISB conditioned stuff :laugh_hard:

I always missed out the HP stuff so I'm very thankful for those youngest waves - and I'm happy for everything we get, even though I have of course some favourites I'd wish to get - The Burrow is definitely one of them.

Never thought about that actually. In fact,  still have a factory sealed 10247 but I could never sell it. And all the other stuff has too much individual value to hand them to other people I don't know from how they will treat it.

You’re lucky if you have the winter village sets- it’s basically hogsmeade!

I’ll be forever grateful that I received them for Christmas every year (minus the Toy Shop rehash, and the two I mentioned above that I bought myself) from the start. You’re right, it would make a perfect Hogsmeade!

Link to my setup last year - super proud of it! I know it’s off topic but thought it’d bring some cheer given the current world situation.

Dammit! I was never bothered by City much but my favourite was the Construction. I still love the 7905 Building Crane

Totally agree! A few weeks ago, I was very lucky to get the crane for a very cheap price in excellent condition: The box wasn't sealed any more but the bags still were!

Tried to do the same with the 10217 Diagon Alley but no chance. That's why I'm pretty hyped for the new one :excited:
