It's gonna be so hard to pass on that set. It sounds fantastic, we're finally getting Tonks! Getting Ginny for this new theme is also really cool. I bet they will make a great build with more than 1000 pieces.

75980: Attack on the Burrow

$100 1047 pieces

Minifigures: Bellatrix, Greyback, Tonks, Harry, Arthur Weasley, Molly Weasley, Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley

That's great news, though I'm really annoyed Ron is in there like @MaxHeadroom predicted. Lupin should've been included instead of him, he actually fought and Ron did basically nothing there. But it's not much to get upset about, we're finally getting our first Tonks figure! Let's hope it's the HBP version and we'll get OotP in the CMF

Oh my, Tonks in her HBP outfit definitely needs a new mould since her hair is so intricate. But I see lego including a Jyn Erso ponytail :/

I missed out on a lot of the 2019 sets and the Hogwarts express. Which sets are most worth to get? Or should I just wait for the 2020 sets?

Hagrid's hut and Clocktower.

But i would say clocktower, whomping willow and great hall (even if i don't have it yet) is a must have. After that Hagrid's hut. But I want all of the sets from this wave and only miss one retired set now. Let see if i continue with that goal, it depends if the D2C diagon alley is worth it.

Then what is the rumoured set number for the burrow?

I missed out on a lot of the 2019 sets and the Hogwarts express. Which sets are most worth to get? Or should I just wait for the 2020 sets?

Here's an impromptu list of all the minifigure sets from most to least recommended. I'll be taking into account the importance of the characters, the importance of the location/vehicle, the price, the quality of the figures, and the quality of the build itself. I'll include my reasoning for some (but not all) sets.

"These are essential": The Great Hall (not perfect but it's the flagship set), and Hogwarts Express (flawless other than 2 figures),

"You should probably also get these": The Rise of Voldemort (inexpensive, great exclusive figures, pretty important scene, but probably not the most interesting set), Hogwarts Clock Tower, and Hagrid's Hut: Buckbeak's Rescue (this would be essential if it was a bit cheaper),

"Definitely consider these ": Quidditch Match (really good value), The Kinght Bus, and Aragog's Lair.

"You'll be content without these": Expecto Patronum (if you want a Serious Black figure and some extra dementors then definitely get this but the set itself is just some trees at the end of the day), Horntail Triwizard Challenge (if you like the dragon build then get the set, if you don't then you wont miss much if you pass on this), and Hogwarts Whomping Willow (the car will be available in another set and the castle is the least essential castle section)

"they're not bad but you really don't need these": Advent Calendar (its a great advent calendar but it's still an advent calendar), and Beauxbatons Carriage: Arrival at Hogwarts (it's nice but it's also a $50 Beauxbatons Carriage set).

These are just my opinions. Honestly you really can't go wrong with any Hp set except for maybe those last two and even those are still great. I would still wait until the 2020 sets get revealed though before buying any of the older ones just in case.

Lol that is actually pretty good! I was wondering about the flamingo lady hairpiece from series 19, that would be HORRIBLE hahahahaha

Based on that picture it looks like the Sabine Wren hair could work? And that's a piece they've already printed before if they want to go all out and do brown with purple highlights. EDIT: NINJA'D on the hair suggestion.

While it is odd to have Tonks but no Lupin, Ron is essential to reenact the moment around when Ginny feeds Harry a pie.

I'm looking forward to seeing this iteration of the Burrow, and if it's special enough to warrant getting given that I still have the old one built on display!

I just rewatched the burrow attack scene from HBP and, Hermiones 2018 yr 1/2 hair in dark orange or light orange would work beautifully for molly, it would be very accurate in my opinion- I know others have said this before- just backing them up, I really hope they do that,

I think they would stick to the Hermione 2001 hairpiece like they did in 2010 but the 2018 version would look definitely better

Oh, i'm so happy to hear that we get the burrow with lot of nice minifigs!

I don't hope to get Tonks in the CMF, i prefer a new character than the same in a different outfit.

And more important the Sabine hair was used in Ninjago City so they should still be able to make the piece.

So with Burrow confirmed to be a June release, that gives us 6 sets in June and 3 sets in September with one of them having an August release date at retailers. So if there is a retailer store exclsuive, it's probably coming in June, not in August.

Just want to clarify that the photo shared above is not how Tonks appears in the Attack on the Burrow scene. She’s wearing a long red velvet coat. See below:

Thanks @Guyon2002 and @sammy_zammy ! I figured I was probably ok, but I've had a couple sets disappear sooner than I was prepared for in my last 3 years out of a >15-year long dark age! :) I'll try to look back through the discussion from last week, but you should forgive me for missing it. This thread gets going like a runaway freight train, and it's impossible to keep up with every part of the conversation. I'd been mostly focused on catching new hints of the upcoming sets and been skimming the rest. Clearly my mistake!

I would think Lego would be smart to keep the Great Hall around possibly even 3 years because it's such an important building and it's by far the most logical starting point for people to add the other Hogwarts builds like Whomping Willow, Clock Tower and upcoming Astronomy Tower. It's also an incredibly good entry point for getting a good variety of important minifigs.

Really looking forward to the 2020 sets that are rumored. Not looking forward to my wallet being hit so hard! Gonna probably have to ask for the big Diagon Alley for Christmas so it doesn't eat into my own Lego budget.

As for my Assembly Square comment, I meant this early in the year. I've been able to get the last few retiring modulars at good discount on Black Friday from S@H and/or Walmart. I had planned to do that again with Assembly Square, but might have to just bite the bullet and pay full price when it's back in stock and with the first decent GWP or Double VIP.

I indeed hope that as well because I really like her OotP appearance with her pinkish (is that an appropriate expression for this color? :look:) colored hair!

Oh man I really really really hope there’s an OotP Tonks in the CMF as well as the minifigure in the Burrow. I’ve already got the 2010 Burrow which I absolutely adore so I really don’t want to miss out on Tonks just because of that. Hopefully because  she’s such a fan favourite Lego will have an affordable (if not easy if you’re unused to feeling minifigure bags) way to get her with her iconic pink hair.

Also it does make sense that Ron comes in the Burrow even if it’s just to balance out the plethora of Hermione figs included in this wave. Odd that he’ll only be in the two £100ish sets tho (as far as we know) but then there is the Inevitable CMF version too

I have a strong feeling we will be getting two Tonks minifigs this year. Like Luna, she is a fan favorite despite her relatively small role in the films. I imagine the HBP Tonks in the long red coat will come in the Attack on the Burrow set and the OotP Tonks in her iconic leather coat and purple hair will come in the CMF series with some additional hair pieces and an alternate pig face. The CMF Tonks will probably look just like she did in the latest Magical Search & Find Adventure book:

First of all everyone should bow down before me and my divination skills. I will continue to use my ability to see patterns in things that aren't there to predict that Harry Potter will appear in more than 3 sets next year (the pattern here being that Harry appears in more sets than Dobby, a trend which I believe will continue). I also predict that in 2028 LEGO will release a D2C Basilisk expansion pack for $400. It will contain 700 basilisk mid sections (identical to the 4 pice assemblies seen in the Great Hall set) and it will also contain 120 robed year1/2 Ron Weasley figures (great for army building) plus an exclusive variant of Ron, now featuring some printing of dust on his robes from the scene where he enters the Chamber of Secrets giving us a total of 121 minifigures (great for minifigure collectors).

Ginny being included means that every Harry Potter Puppet Pals Character is now available in the rebooted line. A glorious achievement and one of the primary shortcomings of the first decade of the theme.

Also I'll repeat what I said earlier. Ron wears his Green shirt and brown sweater combo in the Burrow scene and LEGO probably won't make both sweater on and sweater off versions of the character. I'm guessing it will be the version wearing the sweater because if LEGO can't afford to print a dress for Bellatrix I doubt they can afford to give Ron dual mounded arms in 2 sets (or maybe Ron is where all the budget for these two sets went). At that point we have to decide between either getting sweater Ron in both sets or sweater Ron in one and robed Ron in the other.

I wish LEGO would release the pictures so I could stop thinking about Ron's ugly green and brown T-shirt.

they swap the mold out in the machine when they need to produce something else. they do this a lot to like fill up their stock of various things.

The base they use to produce the molds in is really expensive, they don't buy new machines for every new piece they create. That would be really cost-inefficient

Thanks for the clarification guys :)

As much as I’m annoyed about the exclusion of Lupin, it’s only fair Ron is included here... otherwise it would be 3 (!) sets without him. Hopefully we’ll see more of Lupin next year, as well as a brand new variant for McGonagall; they’ve basically made the same outfit 3 times.

As for the suggestion of Sabine’s hair for Tonks, it’s brilliant! Sadly, having the piece is not enough. BUT this will be Tonks’ introduction, so they better nail it!

I’m interested if Ginny will be in her bathrobe or if they’ll pick an outfit from another scene

I’m not sure... I mean, I’m a sucker for accuracy, but if it’s the only Ginny we get for now it would be weird for her to be in her bathrobe, it would actually be hilarious. Needless to say, they need to catch up with Ginny’s variants.

PD: I was about to type Lepin instead of Lupin, forgive me, LEGO :enough:

And just like that, everyone wants an OOTP Tonks instead. I’m just glad we’re getting her at all. The OOTP version is my favorite but I highly doubt we’ll get two different Tonks minifigs this year, if at all
