No matter how or where they use that piece, it will always be poop since it was introduced as poop. 5 hours ago, deskp said: Lego seem to think dormitories are common rooms ? Where are you getting they think those are common rooms? Both descriptions say dormitories.
CLK143 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Really like the AT, but not bothered about another Harry in tux, Hermione in a party dress, or any more casual clothes.. Draco in Slytherin robes is the best minifigure in this set in my opinion. Burrow looks wonderful and I never had the previous version so really pleased with that. RoR is the best of the rest. Wonder if a few of those could be used to build up extra castle walls between the larger sets? I'll buy them all of course and can't wait for DA to reveal. Stay safe all!
AlbusPercivalWulfricBrian Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 It’s probably just me, but is anyone else confused with the stairs in the privet drive set? :D I totally get why they did it like that, but for total accuracy they should be on the other side so that you can see the stairs if you enter the front door. When I see the cupboard under the stairs my first thought is always „somethings wrong“ as it have to be on the left side when looking at the stairs, not ok the right side :D
sebastian666 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I encourage everyone to check out Marcos Bessa’s latest Instagram post about the set reveals. Marcos is the 31-year-old Design Lead for the LEGO Harry Potter series and, as an out and proud member of the LGBTQ community, he is a huge personal inspiration. Marcos mentions all the designers of the sets and explains the logic behind some design choices (like the white door frames). Check it out:
HalfBloodPrince Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Is it possible that Lego gives the sets a earlier release date at Target or Barnes and Noble like they did in 2018 and 19?

lego_guyon02 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Ugh, why can't LEGO just price sets the same between the Netherlands and Germany. AT is 10 euro and Privet DRive 5 euro more expensive for absolutely no reason...
Fenghuang0296 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 I love all these sets! I didn’t get much HP last year, but I’m gonna get a bunch of these. Centaurs and Grawp are awesome, the Astronomy Tower is gorgeously hodgepodge and looks exactly how it should. The Room of Requirement is my favourite. It’s useful and good for building up the student bodies of Hogwarts, and it’s full of great parts to help expand Hogwarts too. Day 1 buy for me, and I might even get multiple. Privet Drive is cute but not sure I have the space (or budget) . . still I’ll keep an eye on it. I do like it and the Dursleys are interesting enough named characters that they’d be good for my city. Only quibble; what is up with the greenhouse in the AT? It’s so out of place without Professor Sprout . . And I feel like the parts would have been better served making the rest of it better. Was there some kind of requirement inflicted on the designers that the Astronomy Tower set have at least three modules?

Given Sprout has a very interesting look that can't really be done justice without a new mold they kinda had to put her in the CMF. Putting the Greenhouse in this set gives her a place to be. I've seen many people say how Series 1 was very much designed to complement the sets, maybe it works the other way around as well?

It's clearly an interpretation of the key locations. Just now, Guyon2002 said: Ugh, why can't LEGO just price sets the same between the Netherlands and Germany. Prof. Sprout is coming in the CMF. It's like how we got the hospital wing but no Pomfrey anyway.

Slughorn's dinner party. Seriously?? Why did we not get Dumbledore and Snape in this set? The previous Snape was great but there definitely is room to make a new iteration! How about Dumbledore? We got him in the Yule Ball (over Pomfrey and Moaning Myrtle, I might add), but his inclusion in a set literally titled Astronomy Tower isn't warranted? Really? I don't want a waiter Neville, especially when we still don't have a Neville in regular Hogwarts robes. And how many dresses do we need for Hermione? This HP theme is more mature than previous years; I know Lego shies away from death scenes, but an Astronomy Tower set should be based around the battle there. Dumbledore, Snape, two Death Eaters, maybe Crabbe and Goyle would've been much preferred to this lineup. Even Professor Sprout instead of being in the CMF wave could've been included, since we get the greenhouse here. It's not like they left out a Snape repeat for characters we don't already have. This is the fourth Luna, second Neville, and third Hermione this wave alone. I know some people have been knocking the Ravenclaw common room; for me, it's one of the redeeming rooms in this set, but either way, none of the Hogwarts sets have matched The Great Hall yet. Dumbledore's office last wave was disappointing and crammed into a tiny tower. Why not save it for this set? No one would miss Slughorn's office and few would miss the Ravenclaw dorm if they were to be replaced by it. We go from a $130 Hogwarts to a $350 (and counting) Hogwarts and somehow the quality of one of the most iconic places in the castle has arguably gone down. It would be great to have that in this set. Or any other combination of improvements--the interior just feels very underwhelming. And get rid of the white door frames. I just can't shake the thought of how awesome it would've been to get a Dumbledore with some sort of visible curse on his hand, his office with the pensive, locket, ring, the vanishing cabinet (there's an empty hallway right there), Death Eaters (Borgin), etc. That would be a killer set. I must admit I have kind of similar thoughts like you do. We got Yule Ball variants of most characters. Okay I guess? Slugparty outfits? What? I get that they do look good but honestly I don‘t buy a hogwarts set to have Waiter-Neville (?) or to have the minifgures have a tea party in outfits they wear 5 minutes in the entire movie. Regular student uniforms and getting figures in a great looking set like for example Crabbe and Goyle, some Deatheaters and Dumbledore would be much better suited for a set like the ASTRONOMY TOWER imo. jmckrew Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 (edited) Was going to pre-order these but I've already bought Pirates of Barracuda Bay and the Ideas Treehouse set this month. So will wait until later in the year when the possible gift with purchase shows up and possibly buy a case of the cmf's as well. The GWP, CMF series and Brickheadz from 2018 all retired relatively quickly and then shot up in price, so I will grab those first and then the regular sets and the Diagon Alley around Christmas or early 2021. But you also recently shared how much you love Donald Trump and want him included as an exclusive minifig in the upcoming LEGO White House set, so please don’t lecture me on injecting politics into the conversation. I am just saying how Marcos’ visibility as an out gay man and the Design Lead on such an iconic LEGO project makes today’s reveals feel all the more special for me. Wow, we must have very similar tastes. I'm interested in both Treehouse and Barracuda Bay as well. I think I'll also be waiting on these sets, or at least most of them, as they'll no doubt get some discounts come Christmastime. Not sure what I'll do about DA or when I'll get that, as much as I'd love to get it asap I may end up waiting a year or more until there's a discount when it comes to other retailers. Then again I may bite the bullet and buy from Lego if there's a double VIP promo on sometime.

I think a contributing factor to include it now is because in Half Blood Prince, when Harry is on is way to Hagrid's under the influence of Felix Felicis, he finds Slughorn stealing tentacular leaves from a greenhouse. Plus I doubt they'd make set of just greenhouses from CoS with Professor Sprout, I guess why not put it here.
