But I hadn't thought of it being Pigwidgeon so that's my lego headcanon as well. It made me look up Pigwidgeon on the HP wiki though as I couldn't remember how he looked in the films, he's so cute and fluffy!

THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Kingnono just confirmed that WWW will be a part of Diagon Alley. It's so fantastic to finally get it, I can't believe we're getting this iconic location for the first time. It's high time.

As Fred & George would say - yeeeEEAsss DA's gonna be really cool I have a feeling, based on how awesome these sets have been. Mentioned it to mum the other day and she was like "yes, if you did buy that I'd be a bit like, 'do you really need to spend all that money on that?' " and I was like uhm eek

So here are my thoughts on the next wave of sets: Yea I think all of the regulars got distracted yesterday responding to all of the other people who flocked to the forum to discuss the new sets. I think they're all great. Hedwig is better than I expected and I may even buy it if I see it on sale at some point. It's the only set I really don't have a desire to purchase day 1 and could easily wait awhile to get. Might eventually get it to apply for the GWP. Only otter set I have some issues with is Privet Drive. It just seems a bit small for $70. I'm also not a fan of the way the wall hinges into Harry's cupboard. When opened the wall reveals the interior to the exterior and the wall blocks the inside of the cupboard from being viewed from the inside, meaning kids will have to turn the set around to get in there. That's only a minor issue though. I'm also not a huge fan of us getting a third potions classroom but they expected the WW to be retired by now so it's understandable, still doesn't explain the awful random tiny one from the Great Hall though. This might be my favorite year for standard sets so far. We've got all the standard HP sets out of the way that we've seen multiple times over the years and knew we would be getting like like The Great Hall, The Knight Bus, Hagrid's hut, Quidditch, Aragog, and the Hogwarts express so now we can start getting things we've never seen before or have only seen once.

Are we sure there's a potions classroom? I feel like the ground floor room is the dinner party room and the first floor room is Slughorn's office. The one in the Great Hall doesn't really count as a classroom I'd say, just a random little room. It is a shame how pathetic the rooms in Great Hall are apart from the Great Hall itself. It is odd how imbalanced the rooms have been. We had two potions rooms in Whomping Willow, Snape's Office, Slughorn's office (or a potions classroom), the Great Hall one... Meanwhile, we've had the DADA classroom, and that's it for other subjects. There's a couple of random little rooms like the sorting hat room in GH I guess, but other than that... No transfiguration. No charms. No offices (apart from Dumbedore's) - it really makes me sad we're unlikely to get Umbridge's office... The fact that they've been focusing on making complete, film-accurate exteriors and recognizable locations has definitely compromised interiors. They don't do sets for a specific classroom like they did back in the original waves, which has really helped with making complete displayable connectable builds, but hasn't helped with classrooms. End rant! Yes it's my favourite wave so far too - it's nice they can go with events from the films and more unexpected/unique/interesting builds like the AT now they've got the obvious stuff out of the way. In fact, since I've only been buying HP in 2020, 2018 and 2019 are basically one wave for me - yet these sets seem better than both of those! Maybe it's the hype, or maybe it's because there's not a single set (apart from Hedwig but I feel that's a unique case) that makes me go "meh" (like Whomping Willow, Hungarian Horntail and Beauxbatons Carriage did for me). Add on the amazing sounding DA, and potentially another set later on, on top of all this... The AT is such a unique build, my favourite yet. I'm so excited!
Holden Brickfield Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 I’m probably overthinking this, but I’m debating whether to preorder the Burrow set from LEGO (thereby waiting until August for the set) or wait to see if Target’s gonna release the sets in July. Any idea when the Target product listings will show up?

We now know 75978 will be an iconic underground scene (probably the Duel in the Ministry of Magic Atrium, possibly the Chamber of Secrets), but what could this other set be? If we do get a second August set like last year, I really hope it’s Grimmauld Place. It would fit nicely with the OotP-themed Advent Calendar, which _kingnono_ confirmed. It would also round out the trilogy of Harry’s homes, which have been featured in this wave. What do you all think? Is there another mystery set that has yet to be leaked? If so, what could it be?

I think that hint refers to 75978 being a separate set from the D2C Diagon Alley, so following in the same tradition from the last two years we will get two “bonus” August sets: The Burrow and whatever 75978 ends up being (presumably the Ministry).
RealGeronimo11 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Just thinking, and the D2C Hogwarts is $400 and also the second largest LEGO set everrrrrrrr. Is there a chance that the Diagon Alley could have the same/more pieces, because that quantity would be worthy of the set... Although I don't know

The Astronomy Tower is 10 euro more expensive than the Burrow over here That's just an effect they put on the boxart, you can see pretty clearly this is not in the set itself Oh! The pieces can be seen here: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/hogwarts-room-of-requirement-75966 but now i recall it coming in a fantastic beasts set. And it is meant to be shot out of a minifigure’s hand. Darn! I was hoping to have spells coming out of the wands

Roebuck Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 57 minutes ago, Guyon2002 said: I just looked at the Burrow for another while and I started thinking the inclusion of a brown owl just doesn't make any sense. So I did some digging: - The gray owl (originally created for Errol) first appeared in 2010 and last in 2011 - The brown owl first appeared in 2010 and last in 2013 This basically means the brown owl has returned to production after a 7 year hiatus. But as the owl that was specifically made for Errol hasn't been reused I highly doubt the designers included this brown owl as Errol as they could've just returned his old version to production. But if this owl isn't Errol and Hedwig is already included it's inclusion wouldn't make any sense based on the movies, most of you will now probably now where I'm heading with this. What I also noticed is the positioning of the owl in questino, we see it in the following 4 places: 1. On the roof 2. On the ground 3. On Ron's hand 4. In Ron's room The first 2 placements are fairly easy to ignore but the last 2 wouldn't make any sense if this was just a random owl. This means there are only 2 possible answers to the mystery of the Burrow's brown owl: 1. I have completely lost my mind because of the quarantine 2. This owl is supposed to be Pigwidgeon (even though the exact coloring and especially the size isn't right) I'm going with option 2 and even if some of you guys disagree it's still going to be in my lego-headcanon Case closed You are probably right, in BL the old one is even called HP Pigwidgeon They most have used up the budget since they did not include Errol If there is a extra set in August I assume it is a small one like in the cave or similar Just now, RealGeronimo11 said: Just thinking, and the D2C Hogwarts is $400 and also the second largest LEGO set everrrrrrrr. Although I don't know That only had so many pieces as it had so many tiny pieces. I don't think Diagon Alley would be very stable if it consisted entirely of 1x1 plates So no, I don't expect it'll be that big. I think roughly 4000 pieces, maybe 4500, is safe to expect and hope for though. I think they could easily make 5 shops out of that, assuming they're of similar size to Privet Drive, although hopefully they'll be slightly larger? As they'll probably have fewer playfeatures and there won't be the car taking up pieces, although they may have more detail. If they went quite a lot larger than Privet Drive then 4 would be a better expectation. Maybe they will go all out, but since this is minifig scale, don't set yourself up for disappointment :) Just now, Roebuck said: If there is a extra set in August I assume it is a small one like in the cave or similar I would love the HBP cave, it would make such a unique small set. I wouldn‘t say no to that, but I‘d definitely prefer an OotP set over it, just to balance things out a bit And the subject matter is quite dark I think, even more so than the Graveyard Duel, so I‘m not sure if an Inferi cave set would ever be approved
