If you mean Borgin and Burkes as a shop then I'd say yes, but if you mean (as I think you do) Borgin as a minifigure then I wouldn't say 'safe bet'. It would seem logical that a shop should come with its shopkeeper, but I wouldn't say he was 'necessary' to construct play scenes or as well loved and known as Ollivander or Fred and George. I would say Ollivander, Fred and George are 'safe' bets, whereas Borgin would be a welcome, but not certain, inclusion. Of course this is just my opinion and I certainly hope we do get him and some of the more secondary characters. Edited May 16, 2020 by BacktoBricks
Brickity Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I wonder if Hermione will have a regular head and a cat headgear with molded hair, or if her entire head will be a mold. I prefer the former, but I do hope she comes with the hair bit because CMF Luna was missing that (they probably left it out because they knew it would be a good reusable piece and putting blonde hair in it would annoy many lego collectors?) With CMF I’ll take accuracy over reusability anytime anyway. Also, I don’t think we will have Lucius in this CMF, his variants don’t scream for an extra effort in detailing. He could have a death eater variant in a ministry set and the regular outfit in DA, reusing the hairpiece, legs and head (alternate expressions, one with a death eater mask) Lockhart will likely come in his blue robes in DA, we can get him in the mauve robes in a chamber of secrets set and there’s the dueling club outfit. Whether we get a future CoS set in the future or not, we have 2 possible variants for the CMF here. I think Tonks and Lockhart are the remaining slots. Tonks is easily CMF material with her changeable hair colors alone, perhaps they are pulling a Bellatrix with her as well (one simple version in a set/one more detailed in the CMF?)

They might be a little more expensive than 16 polybags - but definitely cheaper than getting lots and lots of duplicates. Unless the three characters whose houses I can't find are Slytherin or Hufflepuff, the final two will probably be from those two houses (unless Harry/Goyle and Ron/Crabbe count as Slytherin). Kingnono later elaborated that the two per house hint was based off facts and fan theories. Which I suspect means that the ‘second Slytherin’ is Rita Skeeter. Since there’s no need to bring up fan theories if there are at least two canon characters from each house I’d say that means that that’s it for Slytherin, although if we’re right about getting the polyjuiced trio then we’ll still get some nice Slytherin robes out of this series and that’s what people really care about. As for Hufflepuff, and can’t find any characters without canon houses that fans consistently sort there (likewise, fans don’t consistently sort Madame Pomfrey and Kingsley usually gets put in Gryffindor in fanfics). That means that our unknown Hufflepuff is canon confirmed from that house - possibly OotP Tonks but we can’t rule out a random student like Dean and Cho from series 1. 20 hours ago, RealGeronimo11 said: Also, _kingnono_ said that there would be at least one character from every book, and there is apart from Philosopher's Stone, depending on whether Pomfrey is from Chamber of Secrets or not (this will probably be known depending on if she has the Skele-Grow bottle as her accessory). So, if those three characters whose houses are unknown aren't Slytherins or Hufflepuffs, if Pomfrey isn't from Chamber of Secrets, and if Harry/Goyle and Ron/Crabbe aren't counted as Slytherins; the final two minifigs are a Hufflepuff and Slytherin, one being from Philosopher's Stone. Maybe Tonks (Hufflepuff) and a Snape (Slytherin, from Philosopher's Stone)? The only flaw with this line of reasoning is that a lot of people have pointed out that the Dumbledore from the leaked package is wearing an outfit from PS/SS, even if his accessory is from CoS. If kingnono follows that line of reasoning, then the one from each book rule is covered almost entirely by the leaked package, with Rita Skeeter from GoF being the only character needed to fulfill that requirement.

As it's rather sure that we will get them howsoever, I'm really curious about their accessories. I would die for a Cornish Pixie that comes with Lockhart as well as for Lucius' walking stick as new molds.

Minga 089 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I think that Harry as Goyle and OotP Tonks are nearly confirmed by all this clues. For the last unknown one, I think ist must be from HBP as one of his hints has been that the series is mainly based on COS, OotP and HBP and so far we only have two characters from HBP. The possibilities are: Lupin in suit (missing one from Burrow set), Ginny in Badrobe, Levander in her iconic yellow/pink Dress, Pyjama Slughorn or Draco in black suit.
Accio Lego Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 So I was just going through the comments on kingnono’s posts to check for more clues, and on the ‘two from each house’ post he said: “teachers and previous [Hogwarts attendees] are included, but no ghosts” Guys, I’ve been counting Myrtle as a a Ravenclaw this entire time, but apparently kingnono isn’t counting ghosts. That means our two last mystery slots aren’t a Hufflepuff and anything, they’re a Hufflepuff and a Ravenclaw. (My money is on OotP Tonks and Lockhart)

Wow that really shows how well HBP is being represented if most of the other options are variants of already existing minifigures! None of those strike me as all that obvious apart from maybe Draco to go with Crabbe and Goyle because of Kingnono's 'gang' hint but then that wouldn't apply to HBP. 21 minutes ago, Accio Lego said: So I was just going through the comments on kingnono’s posts to check for more clues, and on the ‘two from each house’ post he said: “teachers and previous [Hogwarts attendees] are included, but no ghosts” Guys, I’ve been counting Myrtle as a a Ravenclaw this entire time, but apparently kingnono isn’t counting ghosts. (My money is on OotP Tonks and Lockhart) Tonks and Lockhart sound like a good guess, especially as Lockhart is such a recognisable character. I can't imagine him just being included in a D2C when lots of fans who won't be able to afford that will want to get him. Also even if there is a Ministry exclusive set coming (potentially somewhere between £55-25 based on the price hint) I imagine Tonks would be quite low down on the list of characters that would be included in that scene. Also if Lockhart was to be included he would be the fourth teacher alongside Dumbledore, Sprout and Pomfrey (kinda) which coincidentally is the same amount of teachers we got in season 1 with Dumbledore, Trelawney, Flitwick and Moody. Also just looking at all those figures it does seem to be incredibly Chamber of Secrets dominated, but then there really weren't many major sets based of that in the first wave. Yeah, Aragog’s lair, the Whomping Willow and even the new Privet drive set don’t have anything in the way of characters that are exclusive to CoS unless you count Dobby. And when you look at the figures that we’re known and rumored to get in the CMF I think the only ones that don’t absolutely have to have new molds are the polyjuiced Harry and Ron (and theoretically Lockhart, although I’d argue that he at least needs a new hairpiece), so while not everyone might be happy that one movie gets so much more representation, you can’t argue that those minifigs don’t need the CMF budget.

m0repotter Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I think the figures I would be most looking forward to left in this wave would be OOTP Tonks (hopefully she either comes in CMF or a MoM themed set) and a second Ginny variant! sammy_zammy Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 (edited) It still makes me really happy that Lego are really going out of their way to include as huge a variety as possible of Minifigures and characters, and to really complete scenes. Obviously it Having it’s own CMF greatly helps this but the sets do too. I’m not one to want to buy duplicates of minifigs and CMFs to create an “army” like many of you are, but luckily I don’t even need to, as we’re getting so many figures! I was looking at the Indiana Jones sets on Brickset (my favourite theme) and realising how much the minifigs were awesome, but lacking as well. No Hovitos tribesmen in Temple Escape? No Sallah or Toht in Raiders at all? No Donavon or Brody in Last Crusade? No Oxley or Mac in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at all? But now, they’re clearly cramming as many minifigs as they can into every set. Edited May 16, 2020 by sammy_zammy

You’re right, she does get the short end of the stick, in merchandising in general and not just lego. I think the problem is that she’s got a very passive role in CoS, and then she basically becomes a background character for the next three books/movies. OotP is where she starts really coming into her own, but unfortunately, Neville does as well and that’s also when Luna is introduced - and for a variety of reasons those two seem to have more fans than Ginny. She definitely has less representation in Harry Potter merchandise than any other member of them sacred seven’.
