KingNono who is the main leaked of this wave has stated that minifigure lovers will love this D2C as well as other licenced D2C's such as the lego death star which cost £410 had 26 minfigures included in the set.

You can't really compare one license to another, especially Star Wars. It's a highly inconsistent theme, sometimes a $30 set has 4 figures and an $80 set has 3. Harry Potter is completely it's own thing. Kingnono's hint also isn't necessarily hinting at a large amount of figures, maybe they're just very detailed :shrug_oh_well:

Depends on what you're collecting I guess. If someone's trying to get all figures those 4 will definetely be something nice (or awfull) but for me personally, as someone who even keeps FB and HP seperate, I'm completely fine with not having the Founders

This is me, I collect figures of characters that can be used on display in my Hogwarts/part of my overall display once all the sets are out, those 4 characters aren't necessary for either

My guess is that he means there’s a lot but a lot can still mean less than 20. The most we’ve gotten in a set is 10 with the Great Hall I believe, so 15 would still please me very much as a minifigure collector

as set and figure collector I'll be happy with 10 as long as there's plenty of buildings and the figures are detailed

My own guess is 14-18. I'll be really happy with 14, 18 would be perfect but is pushing it imo

Since we’re speculating on the number of figures in the D2C, there’s also kingnono’s ‘Thorsten and Torben’ riddle to unravel. It’s been pointed out that the names probably refer to Fred and George, who could only be appearing in the D2C, and kingnono has hinted that the ‘can’t change tires between Saturday and Sunday’ part is reference to F1 racing. I’m not familiar with the sport, but according to my research an F1 race takes place on Sunday and has 20 cars. The qualifying rounds take place on Saturday, and the top ten cars from those are required to use the tires from their fastest run in the Sunday race.
This could suggest a few things:

- 20 figures overall with 10 (including Fred and George) being exclusives

- 10 figures overall (including Fred and George)

- 10 exclusive figures (including Fred and George) with some other number overall.

This hint made me insane all week because I don't know how to interpret it :head_back:

I hope for everything but the second one, ten would be a little few

I really can’t imagine getting 20 figures in the Diagon Alley set. I’ve listed 20 that could appear, even if some stand no chance (Would we really get Quirrel again? Borgin only ever appeared in a deleted scene IIRC). What does everyone else think? The ones in bold I think have the highest chance of appearing.

  1. Harry
  2. Ron
  3. Hermione
  4. Hagrid
  5. Tom (Barkeeper)
  6. Lucius
  7. Draco
  8. Ginny
  9. Lockhart
  10. Goblin #1
  11. Goblin #2
  12. Fred
  13. George
  14. Olivander
  15. Borgin
  16. Quirrel
  17. Fudge
  18. Bellatrix
  19. Narissa
  20. Greyback

I like this list. But I would be happy to swap Fudge or Quirrel for Mundungus Fletcher as the location would suit him well & he is unlikely to appear in any other set

You could also swap one for the Daily Prophet photographer (CoS)

I never considered Mundungus, but he would make a great addition. I only put Fudge on the list because of kingnono’s “He’s back” hint.

  15. Borgin
  16. Quirrel
  17. Fudge
  18. Bellatrix
  19. Narissa
  20. Greyback

That's an interesting list, it's certainly given me some thoughts. One thing that is a bit of a head-scratcher for me is that because the Lego sets are so specific nowadays with the different character age groups and how they are represented as figures I'm not sure how many films they can draw from in one set - although it happened in the CMF I can't imagine getting two versions of Harry in the same set. But then the designers would either have to pick between when the minifigures look the same, such as either choosing the first two films or Half Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows when they will likely pick both for the definitive version of Diagon Alley.

So I'm just going to break down the characters by each film to try and wrap my head around this:

Philosopher's Stone:

  • Harry
  • Hagrid
  • Tom the Innkeeper
  • Quirrell
  • Goblin
  • Griphook (Philosopher's Stone version)
  • Ollivander

Chamber of Secrets

  • Harry
  • Hagrid
  • Ron
  • Hermione
  • Mr Weasley
  • Mrs Weasley
  • Ginny
  • Lucius
  • Draco
  • Lockhart

So just going by these two films where all the characters are the same age you could get 15 different characters just there, and with accompanying buildings there could be recreations of the scenes at the Leaky Cauldron, Gringotts, Ollivanders, Borgin and Burkes and Flourish and Blotts (which is definitely not very likely to turn up).

Also thinking about it I don't think many Prisoner of Azkaban features would turn up, except maybe some small built-in references in the Leaky Cauldron like maybe a bedroom, a wanted poster and the Monster Book of Monsters.

But then based on Half-Blood Prince you've got:

  • Harry
  • Ron
  • Hermione
  • Ginny
  • Fred
  • George
  • Draco
  • Narcissa Malfoy (not very prominently tbf)
  • Fenrir Greyback
  • Masked Death Eaters (for the initiation and Ollivander's abduction)
  • Bagged Ollivander

And then Deathly Hallows as well, which is centred mostly on Gringotts.

Honestly looking at how the biggest selection of characters and locales is in the 1st, 2nd and 6th films I feel like the events at Flourish and Blotts offer the least amount of playability, so then by putting the characters from the 1st and 6th films together the only crossover is Harry. Maybe we could see two generations of Harry minifigures in the same set. I'm really considering this now because otherwise in omitting him Lego are removing lots of chances to recreate scenes from the films with just the figures from the sets. Also there's a large part of me that thinks Lego won't miss the opportunity to have the figures of the characters from HBP, the same age as the ones in this year's sets, exploring Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.

Also just a disclaimer that the selections I've examined are very much based on my biases for what I'm expecting for the set, and not an exhaustive list.

That's a good list. Most sources on the internet say the Borgin scene in CoS was deleted but I'm really certain it was in the movie the last time I saw it *huh*

If the Great Hall was £90 and had 10 minifigs, I'd assume Dragon Alley would have quite a bit more

ya can't really base amount of minifigures on price though :)

He’s in the Chamber extended edition so that might be it?

I’m sure I read a kingnono hint about Harry in DA being based on his PoA appearance. Something about him changing his jacket.

There are extended editions?! That explains why I remember Borgin but how the hell did I not know this :laugh_hard:

EDIT: apparantly it's just for PS and CoS and it's just a few deleted scenes that were included

there are extended editions of 1 & 2, but imo they don't add much worthwhile unlike Lord of the Rings so I'm happy enough watching the originals

Yeah just found out and edited my post, does explain why I remember Borgin being there :shrug_oh_well:

If we were going on the book it could be a way to get a young Tom Riddle as he worked in Borgins.

I doubt that, they don't tend to go off the books much, especially in a set like this

Other figures could be Madam Malkin if that building is inlcudes and the kids that were looking at the Nimbus 2000

At least one or two generic wizard civilians would be nice to populate the scenes (instead of Fudge and Quirrel because we already got them)

Well we've had two un"named" minifigure characters (The Executioner and Trolley Witch), so I feel like that fact alone bodes well for the possibility of "generic wizard civilians" that may have had one or two lines in Diagon Alley scenes in the film.

Side notes: 1 Does anyone have any idea when Expecto Patronum popped up at Walmart last year? (I know it was earlier than the US release but was it earlier than the European release as well?) 2 Has anyone seen the mini figure pack available for preorder online yet, or do we think it will just show up everywhere on June 1st (I am wondering whether to place an order today on LEGO.com or wait until the minifigure pack comes so I don't have to pay for shipping twice )

“Executioner” isn’t unnamed, it’s Macnair ?, but both of those are kind of integral to their sets, random witches/wizards in DA aren’t really integral ☺️
