(Insert Name Here) Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Concerning the Advent Calender leak, I'm already a little disappointed as it seems to focus on the Yule Ball which we already got plenty of in the clock tower set. As last it has some details from the film: the silver piano, the massive grama phone, possibly the Patil twins.
TheRandomBlocker Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Just now, Lego-Freak said: Fair enough. You’re right, this discrepancy definitely requires a convincing explanation. His hints and the discussion they inspired were fun and all, but if he turns out to be a fraud, I‘m going to be mad. Exactly, if he was just giving us educated guesses and wishes and he ends up just being a fake then everyone here will be pissed, I think that’s why I’m more skeptical than others because I know what it’s like to have someone put full faith in me and be let down

Personally, I believe Kingnono. My guess is that LEGO had a ready-made excuse to save some money and reuse old Yule Ball figures, thus scrapping/revising the original Grimmauld Place Advent Calendar at the last minute. Maybe we'll get that one next year.

Yes, that’s exactly what happened the original had more pieces and I believe was bigger, but they realised they either had to increase the price or decrease the piece count and remove some features/decrease the size

Sure, it‘s „just“ an advent calendar, but that also takes a long time to design. You can‘t just change everything at the last minute, it would take months to adjust everything, even in the design stage, let alone actual production. Kingnono being a fraud is way more likely

I mean I said that I'd kind of de-hyped myself and am happy to just take it as it comes... So I'm glad I did after this lol. Guess we'll see how it pans out. While I'd have loved a D2C Diagon Alley, if it doesn't exist then it's not like it was going to exist, so I don't think I'd be devastated. If this is the case I'll definitely have a go at MOCing it.
8fifty Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I'd be interested in who his sources are - has he seen the sets personally? Does he have an informant?
Falconfan1414 Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Considering people are now spamming his post where he got the advent calendar wrong, I’m surprised kingnono hasn’t addressed the issue yet. There are things that he is right about but if you throw enough darts at a wall I’m sure some will stick. But the longer it takes him to address it, the worse it looks for him

Maybe we'll get that one next year. You shouldn't tho, because designing process for Lego sets is much more complicated. If they made a Grimmauld set, and someone has seen it give or take a few months ago and they scrapped that idea just a few months ago, they wouldn't have time to design and produce this set.

Bluetus Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Well so ... if Lego will being cheap on minifigures in AC like this ... from now on, we’ll expect AC based on previous wave set ? 2019 AC based on 2018 Great Hall 2020 AC based on 2019 Clock Tower and next year will be 2021 AC based on 2020 Astronomy Tower ??
HalfBloodPrince Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Ya’ll are extremely negative, do you know Lego sets change in production? And another reason could be its based of GOF and OOTP, Its literally only 3 figures shown.

The thing is the Advent Calendar last year contained characters which all fit into Hogwarts, which OOTP characters like Sirius would not. Also judging by the front of the box all the accessories seem to be Yule Ball related too, it's not like the Star Wars calendars where there's loads of stuff from all the different films.

Even if there was an OotP minifig or two in there (which wouldn‘t make much sense given the setting), his statement would still be wrong. And changes in the production process do happen, but a lot earlier than this

I could very well believe that, I mean the Slug Club party is at Christmas, right? Wouldn’t surprise me if they do that next year, and the “Christmas” set next year could be Grimmauld Place 9 minutes ago, HalfBloodPrince said: Ya’ll are extremely negative, do you know Lego sets change in production? People aren’t negative, they’re realistic, he stated “the scene of Harry Potter 75981 advent calendar take place in OotP” which is clearly wrong, because the scene and the brickbuilt pieces are from GoF, not OotP Edited May 29, 2020 by TheRandomBlocker

A single minfigure or a sidebuild can disappear (for example this year's Destiny Bounty). A whole set can disappear (last wave of SW buildable figures). But you can't literally change a whole set in final phase of production. It is not possible.

Nobody is talking about it like that, what they’re saying is that the entire thing isn’t based on OotP like Nono said it would be, it is obviously based on GoF, which goes against what Nono said, so if he’s got that wrong, what else has he gotten wrong?
AdriWho Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I really like that printed tile with the Yule Ball invitation and that object at the end... Could be a new broom mould?
