Just ordered the Astronomy Tower, Forbidden Forest, and Room Of Requirement from Zavvi. I’ll wait for the others, I hope all goes well with the order!

I would have gotten them all but Privet Drive was almost $15 more than retail price and they didn’t have Hedwig or The Burrow. This and the student pack will be enough to hold me over until August

Maybe?
I'm trying to hold out for as long as I can.  It looks extremely doubtful that the sets will be released here in July, but you never know.  Besides, I will really need all the VIP points I can get for when I order Diagon Alley, and I wouldn't put it past LEGO to give us a double VIP promotion the first week of August.  :classic:

I don't mind waiting, but I'll be waiting a long time.:pir-cry_sad:  I like to wait for the special black friday/holiday freebie sets that I can get with it in Nov/Dec. The Christmas tree last year was a really nice set. I was able to get two last year. Gifted one and kept the other.

I was torn between the Astronomy Tower and the Burrow, but I think because I like the minifigs so much  in the AT that I'll get that and not the Burrow. I got tan doors to replace the smaller white frames so at least a bit of the white will be gone. Trying to just get one big set a year. If the sets are not so great next year, maybe I'll get the Burrow. I'm really not excited about the minifigs in it. I would've rather had the wedding scene. Maybe that will be a future set add on to the Burrow. The Burrow looks pretty fantastic though. I love how it pulls out. My kids would find it so cool. Kind of hoping the sets next year are not so interesting so I'll get the Burrow then.

If this year's AC being based on the clocktower is a predictor that next year's AC will go with the Astronomy Tower, I guess we won't get Ginny in the green dress from the party in the CMF this year. Maybe Draco will come with his red shirt and black suit too. I will have to rewatch that scene to see if there's anything else we could get. Dreaming about next year's AC when I'm underwhelmed so far with this year's AC. Don't mind me. :P

Yeah I meant waiting till August when they're released. I can definitely see them doing double VIP around then, but if not I'm probably going to buy just the AT when it releases (to connect to the rest of my Hogwarts) and wait for the rest to go on sale or for LEGO to have a promotion. In the meantime, I still have a couple wave 1 sets to build since I was late to the game ?.

Haha, I’m glad I’ve started a domino effect of US buyers purchasing the sets from Europe. I never thought I’d be one to do this, but the one month release difference (July vs August) really does make a difference to me, and at these prices I couldn’t really say no. Getting all the sets from a wave at once is fairly important to me so I’m glad I could still do that! Also, if anyone modifies the Burrow to cover up the left side of the house I’d love to see pictures!

I do believe I was the first:laugh:

GoldenNinja3000, you definitely did start something! I just ordered the AT and RoR from Zavvi!

Thank you for suggesting Zavvi! It was perfect because the only one I truly want for now is the AT.

Can't wait to build with you all!

Glad to hear that worked out, I’ve seen a lot more of the site from the Lego Deals subreddit and people seem to like it a lot!

I didn’t have a problem waiting until July but my argument is why wait for August when I’m paying the same price I would pay then, but I can get them early and before I move and have to take apart all my HP sets. The VIP points aren’t a huge loss to me because I already have enough to get Diagon Alley for free when it releases, so I’m really happy I’ve been saving them.

Yeah this is fair, if I was ordering all or most of the sets at once then I'd also do it. I like spreading my purchases out though, cause I know I'll build them too quickly if I have them all at once haha.

If I were you, I would get the Burrow on day one if you can afford it, because it will probably be backordered for a while, and highly unlikely to go on sale.  Just my two cents, though, and I could be totally wrong about it.  You're a far more patient person than I am, and I admire that!

Thanks for the recommendations @Retro Brick Reviews @2lazeetomakeaname @RogueTwo !

I just ordered the Room of Requirement and Hedwig from Steinchenwelt, the Forbidden Forest set from Brickshop, and the Astronomy Tower from eBay.

I do want to give credit where it’s due. @2lazeetomakeaname and @RogueTwo were instrumental in my decision to buy the sets from Europe as a US citizen. All of my sets are now scheduled for delivery between this Friday 6/12 and Monday 6/15. Can’t wait to start building with the rest of you all!

In all likelihood, I think that's what I'll end up doing, especially considering how much people here are loving it. I also really want Privet Drive, but I have a feeling that one will go on sale at some point.

I'd say give it a few months and it'll be down to $56. Most sets $70 or less get a 20% discount in the months after release (except on lego.com of course)

Well, just ordered the Burrow from Brickshop.eu, and I’m really really excited to finally get my hands on it. Thank you so much to whoever mentioned the site on here and for sharing your guys’ experiences

For everyone saying there's no info on the polybag's release: it releases in stores on July 1st and will retail for 5 euro (idk about $), we've known this since the polybag leaked.

I can't really tell what color the wand is supposed to be from the pictures but Cho's skincolor is the same between the Accessory Pack and the CMF. The used skintone isn't accurate to the movies though

I just received the students pack and I compared Cho from the pack with the one from the 1st CMF and I can confirm that their skin colour is identical. As for the wands, all 4 students from the pack use the same dark brown wand. While Cho from the CMF uses a reddish brown wand.

I guess I should’ve been clearer. I meant the reverse face is one Cho doesn’t have, so it could just be a random student.

2) Lego is still getting their money from the sets, even if it is secondary through shops

Well, yes & no. Although I should ask first, is that brickshop a business that sells LEGO that they get from LEGO themselves, I know in the States you need to buy a good amount in order to get sets from TLG. Or do they buy it from stores then resell it? If it’s  the latter, they lose out on those sales once the sets hit the States & those people no longer need to buy them.

I don't mind waiting how ever long it is until the sets are widely released here, and then bar one or two waiting even more until they are included in a sale. The sets will be just as good whether I get them now or even 3-5 months from now.

But cool for all those people with the desire and means to get them now through various channels.

By the way, it was @Guyon2002 who told me about the site originally some weeks ago.

No problem, now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna call Brickshop to ask for my percentage of their new revenue  :sarcasm_smug:

Hi again all,

I’m debating whether or not to buy the sets now from a third party site and (despite VIP points) the biggest concern I have right now is: was RoR the only set that had a manufacturer error with the torsos? I may want to wait until they get all the kinks worked out to make my purchase

As far as I know, that’s luckily the only error that’s been detected thus far. And it’s hard to tell how frequent that one really is

I got it yesterday and it had no error

This is kind of a weird question, but does anyone else like to buy/build the wave “chronologically”?  In this case, it might look like:

1. Privet Drive (minus the Ford Anglia)

2. Diagon Alley

3. Viaduct Entrance from Astronomy Tower

4. Hedwig (if I buy that one)

5. Ford Anglia from Privet Drive

6. The Burrow

7. Greenhouse from Astronomy Tower

8. Advent Calendar

9. Room of Requirement

10. Forbidden Forest

11.  Astronomy Tower

I find it more fun to do it this way if I have the money at the time (and watching the accompanying scenes while building, naturally).  And I won’t even get into assembling minifigures in order.  Clearly, I have issues.

I actually think this is a really cool concept. Have you tried it this way before?

My box had the correct torsos.

Only thing I have noticed is colour variations in the tablecloth pieces that hangs from the table in the Astronomy Tower Set.

https://brickset.com/parts/6219657/right-plate-1x2-w-bow-45-deg-cut

The Right and Left variants of this piece got different shades of red. Don`t remember now which is the correct shade in relation to the table itself.

Looking at three waves meanwhile, I would definitely not hold my breath about that ?

Holy moly, how many Lego sets do you order per year? ??

Btw, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who can get very impatient about things like Lego and who sometimes does freaky things just to get the stuff as early as possible ?

I can speak for them, but I typically just save all the points for a couple years after buying the Star Wars UCS sets and other big sets and then get a large scale set free with the points after a couple years
