Which side of the current Hogwarts display do u think the astronomy tower will connect to?

Technically you can rearrange the modular sections however you want. You don’t even have to have the parts of the Whomping Willow or Clocktower the way they are in the official instructions.

I know I’m very very late to this but I’ve had many displays over the years with the Harry Potter sets but I think they only look good if they fit in with were they are, putting the knight bus with hogwarts just seems weird to me (even though the bus takes them to hogwarts in book 5/6 (I’m not sure)) . This is my display of the majority of hogwarts (I didn’t have the clock tower when I posted this)

I would guess it connects to the Clocktower, as it’s next in line. It’s that or we see what the connections on the backside of the GH were put there for.

Hello fellow Lego builders! I’ve been on this site a few times and have seen people posting their displays. Here are a couple of mine that I’ve made over past year. I have more shots on my Instagram. Please take a look - https://www.instagram.com/flourish_and_blotz/?hl=en
I’m not really sure some of the previous posts have embedded the Instagram link so I’ve just copied the pictures on here. I’m really looking forward to all the new sets but this only means I need to make more space.

@Legohp25 is that the troll chasing Quirrell? That's quite hilarious:laugh_hard: I love how you made the viaduct and stairs to the boathouse. Did you put an exploding play feature in the viaduct? Like the one in 4867? I thought I spotted some kind of knob.

I really gotta make myself a rock foundation someday. Any tips?

Is that a Great hall, Clock Tower and Womping WIllow X2?

Yep! I had to get a little creative using some angled connectors to make it work.

Thanks!

@Legohp25 Amazing displays! Lots there to inspire my own setup. Once again I just love the mix of old and new set to make a huge wizarding world display.

Thanks! Yes when the newer grey roofs were released I was worried it wasn’t going to work. I think it’s okay though.

Yes it is hahah! Yeah in the first pic there is the exploding feature from 4867.

The rock foundation was tough to build. I drew an outline around the sets. Then I made a bunch of colourful bricked pillars to hold up flat grey base plates and just built up the outline with ‘rocks’.

Having a super small shelf to display my stuff, this is what probably saves the most space:

https://imgur.com/lLMUNwr

Curious to see if anyone has re-arranged the furniture pieces inside the rooms. For example, putting the Gryffindor beds and props from the calendar where the DADA classroom is, and placing the stuff from the latter in the whomping willow set, etc.

The Beauxbatons carriage looks very awkward in that position :laugh_hard: But at least the Basilisk is having fun.

I have changed pretty much every single room there is, though I also changed some of the sets themselves.

Great Hall - GH is a seperate structure - Marble Staircase Tower is taller and wider and includes a random hallway (with Architect statue and the point-counter thingies for each house), Transfiguration, Gryffindor Common Room, Gryffindor Boys Dormitory and Dumbledore's Office.

Whomping Willow - configuration is changed and really modded - Potions (larger classroom), Girl's Bathroom, crappy version of Umbridge's office and Owlery.

Clocktower - only interiors changed - hallway with fireplace and GoF, DatDA, Hospital Wing, Moody's/Crouch's office, Prefect's bathroom

If there is anyone I'd like lego to put more time and effort into it's the interiors

Haha I know, but it’s just to save space, the carriage isn’t small after all. (I also put the horntail on top of the tent, surrounded by the quidditch towers ha)

Nice changes to your rooms! I remember the pictures you posted.

As for the interiors, while I like them very much, I would prefer they included less rooms but bigger + more detailed (Looking at you dumbledore’s office, prefect’s bathroom and gryffindor dorm) But, that’s probably a bad idea because we wouldn’t get a taste of most rooms in the end. Sometimes I’m glad that I don’t make the decisions at TLG.

By the way, the clock tower is on sale at a local supermarket, at a quarter of its original price. I wonder how these 2019 sets did, at least in my country (It’s just rare to see such discounts)

Lastly, I’m debating whether I should get the advent calendar or not. Love the fireplace, statue, flags and great hall props, but I’m not into the micro builds or minifigures.

I think it's worth it, especially when you compare it's contents to the Star Wars AC's from the last few years. It's cheaper and has more exclusive things than those from SW. Here's what I did with the all the builds:

- Used figures: Harry, Ron and Hermione are in the Gryffindor Dormitory (Christmas themed). Flitwick is in my Yule Bale section (even though he's not really based on the YB). Architect statue on custom pedestal in my entrance hall

- Used builds: Flags and trees in the Yule Ball section, Chess set in the Gryffindor Common Room, food on my GH tables, Harry's trunk in the Dormitory

- Disassembled figures/builds: Dumbledore, McGonagall, Hogwarts Express, fireplace, tables, snowman, presents, pedestal (prints used on my custom house-point-counter)

In conclusion: there are some great exclusive figures (4 exclusives, I don't count McGonagall as one) and prints (acceptance letter). The builds are quite decent and usefull, the ones that aren't usefull have some decent pieces. It also has a pretty great PPR for a licensed set. I love it, now it's up to you to make your decision

So, apparently 75978 and 75980 will in fact be August HP releases, with the latter set to retail for around $100. I imagine that'll be WWW or (less likely) #12 Grimmauld Place, and 75978 will be the Battle at the Ministry.

Interesting. The August waves of the last two years have typically been a small and a medium set - not a second large set as big as the castle section we’re getting. I think you’re right to guess it will be something outside the castle, and Grimmauld Place and Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes are the best bets for a wave based mostly around OotP and HBP.

However, I think I’d put more weight into Grimmauld Place - the past two years Lego has been pretty good with spreading out the price points evenly over the movies covered. Right now if our rumors are correct we’ve got two small OotP sets ($20 Room of Requirements + $30 Grawp) and one large HBP set (Astronomy Tower). From a price point view, we don’t need another big ticket HBP set - we need a big ticket OotP set and a smaller, more affordable HBP set.

I've seen the leak on Instagram, but it comes from a supposedly new account with 0 followers. Not sure if he got the information from someone else or if he's just a new leaker but I'm very doubtful about this information and whether he's trustworthy or not. It also sounds a little bit too good to be true. Has anyone heard of him before?

Info is true ?

The Battle of the Ministry could still be huge tho, it could have the entrance, the place where the Order fights the Death Eaters and the department of mysteries. I'm not sure what the other set for HBP could be, maybe the Three Broomsticks?

Assuming these sets are from OotP or HBP, and they're also not based on Hogwarts locations, the large set is probably the Ministry of Magic, Grimmauld Place or Wesley's Wizard Wheezes, with the other almost certainly smaller set being the Inferi Cave, The Burrow or a smaller MOM set.

If they aren't from OotP or HBP, they could be the Lake Task or Durmstrang Ship from GoF, Shrieking Shack from PoA or part(s) of Diagon Alley.

Looking forward to hearing more!

I’ll believe it once a reputable leaker confirms it. Currently, there is no source backing this claim, at least as far as I know :shrug_oh_well:
