RogueTwo Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Has anyone in the US received their package from Brickshop.eu yet?

I forget if I already was building the clock tower and hearing the news of more sets was SO exciting. The main wave was announced in april and came out in june, the carriage and graveyard were both announced in mid-may. I wouldn't count on any more sets coming out this year as we should've already had some info on them if there was more.

Yeah, pretty sure the only things left for this theme that Lego hasn’t officially announced yet are the CMF and D2C, which typically have less time between their announcement and release than regular sets, and we really only know about those because of a couple of leaks.

Moreover, only the Beauxbatons carriage set came out of nowhere, the graveyard duel set was rumoured quite some time before that
sammy_zammy Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Not the new wave... but I’m finally home after being stuck due to lockdown, so can start building my backlog from months ago. Just built the Dragon Boat Race last night, excited to build the Great Hall today!

If you've never built the Great Hall before, you're in for a real treat (the tower could use some modding, but the Great Hall section itself is marvelous).
Micmac Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Can't remember who asked but someone on here wanted to see Lavender Brown with the batman skirt piece. Thank its too pink but what do others think?
Dr.Cogg Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The Harry Potter sets on the US Lego website just got changed from August 1st to coming soon.

Salix Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I wonder if LEGO's soon is actually soon and not like Jagex's soon™. ;)
GoldenNinja3000 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Well, if those sets release July 1st I’m gonna feel like an idiot lol. At least I still paid $5 less overall!

Always said "Coming soon" on the Harry Potter theme main page but very recently changed from "August 1st" on individual set listing pages to "Coming soon" as well. Hopefully that means sooner than August 1 rather than a push back after August 1 due to supply concerns.

And yeah, at least Brickshop's prices are good! 2 minutes ago, sebastian666 said: It has said “coming soon” for a while now... There are still 50 days until August, and don't forget that the date was originally listed as July 1 before being quickly modified. My intuition is that LEGO wasn't sure how long their factory in Mexico would be closed, so they are just playing it safe, and they will release the sets here as soon as there is enough stock, be it next week, next month, or two months from now. It seems like July 1 is the most likely at the moment, because sets are almost always released at the beginning of a new month. Nope, ordered it a couple nights ago and just got an estimated delivery date of the 17th. Kinda hoping it would be sooner but ah well, that’s what I get for ordering from Europe

Brickshop usually has the lowest LEGO prices in the Netherlands, which might be a reason why I don't have that many VIP points.

Thank its too pink but what do others think? I did! Thanks for the image! The skirt is the same color as her bow right? Her skirt is darker than her shirt in the movies, so it doesn’t look bad IMO. Not sure about the width though. As for the release dates on the Mexican lego website, the dates said July 1st just a couple of days ago and now it’s completely changed to coming soon! Seeing how many economic activities are officially going back to normal here, it wouldn’t surprise me if the sets get released sooner for both of us (if it’s got anything to do with the mexican factory) Don’t hold your breath though. Depends on what sets you're looking for, my purchases have been divided over multiple stores (tip: use Brickwatch, their website keeps track of all sales and discounts here in the Netherlands). But the VIP points thing I can agree on, only someone who doesn't like saving a lot of money would buy stuff directly from LEGO here in the Netherlands. I only buy directly from them when I don't have another choice
Balrogofmorgoth Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Even if the release date is pushed up to July, I don’t regret importing three of the sets early, I paid about the same. Granted they haven’t gotten here yet (I only ordered them a couple days ago) so we’ll see
Accio Lego Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t something similar to this happen last year? The official US website said August for awhile but then changed closer to the July 1st release date, presumably because August was the general release but July was the exclusive release for B&N and Lego stores and that might have made things confusing behind the scenes? Maybe I’m wrong but I seem to remember going through this before.

Yeah it happened last year, but seemed unlikely this year because Barnes and Noble didn’t know anything about an early release again and the sets were originally listed for July 1st on Shop@Home when they were revealed before changing to August 1st a couple hours later.

I only buy directly from them when I don't have another choice I do actually use brickwatch, so not all my sets are from brickshop. Of this HP wave, 3 sets I got at brickshop, 1 at brickfever, 2 from LEGO, and 1 from bol.com. Same on the choice thing, case and point, I got the students pack from LEGO.com as it's an exclusive and wasn't at the store when I was there. Although RoR is cheaper elsewhere, I got it from the LEGO store in Utrecht to get past the €85 threshold for the hot rod.
YetiZombie Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but if it changed from "August 1st" to "Coming Soon" that makes me think that it's delayed. Otherwise, why wouldn't they have a new release date?
Modal Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Are there any ideas of when the D2C set is going to be announced? What was the timeline like in 2018 for Hogwarts?
