Daedalus Diggle and Doris Crockford are at the top of my list of minifigs I hope to be included in the D2C Diagon Alley set. I mean just look at how weird and fantastic they are!

Brickity Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 How likely is it that we’re going to get new molds in the D2C? If we don’t then at least I hope we get some more face variants like sooty harry.

Pretty likely since TLG clearly isn‘t afraid of introducing new moulds in D2C sets anymore, but the problem is that I can’t think of much that actually requires a new mould in the first place Maybe a new hairpiece for Lockhart if he shows up in the set, but he‘s pretty likely to appear in the CMF series as well, so it wouldn‘t count. Or maybe a new hair/hat combo piece for the CoS version of Arthur? Or perhaps I need to think outside the minifig box

Well we know for sure we’re getting part recolors (Florean’s hair piece now in dark brown), so new molds can’t be too unlikely of a possibility, right? Sorry it’s not a great answer to your question, I’m sure there are people on here who are more knowledgeable about that kind of thing than I am
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Just a heads-up: all of the 2018 sets and most of the 2019 selection will reach EOL by the end of the year, so make sure you get the sets you still want https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-end-of-life-eol-2020/#lego-harry-potter

Makes it affordable, brings in modular building fans to Harry Potter if they're not already, and would give an ultimate DA display, affordable if spread out over the years. I could see this working with one iconic building and one less-known building. For example, this year could have the ice cream shop and either Gringotts or Olivanders, judging by the leaked figures.
sebastian666 Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 In case any of my fellow Americans are still waiting on sets to arrive from abroad - I have good news! Six weeks after ordering from Steinchenwelt, today I finally got notice that my packages have arrived in the US. I imagine I will have them in hand next week. Hope you all get yours soon too. For folks who are still thinking about ordering from abroad, I definitely recommend ordering from ZAVVI instead of Steinchenwelt or any other company. ZAVVI uses an incredibly fast shipping service and my Astronomy Tower and Forbidden Forest sets arrived only four business days after ordering. And they were way cheaper than Steinchenwelt!

I’ve become a bit spoiled with same-day and next-day Amazon Prime delivery. I probably emailed Steinchenwelt weekly to see if they had any additional info. It sounds like they use a really low budget shipping service and, with Covid-19, it just got delayed. But my orders from Zavvi UK came in only four days! I ordered on a Monday evening and had my sets in hand by Friday morning.

Zepthire Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like the GWP Diagon Alley is definitely not the same scale as the D2C castle. Otherwise the entire street is only about the length of the great hall interior and I feel like the street is a lot longer than that.

Microscale is not a fixed scale. Lego is never to scale. However you can safely say that microscale is too small for a $400 Diagon Alley. Edited July 17, 2020 by sammy_zammy
Zepthire Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 I feel like between the GWP scale and minifig scale you could make a much more detailed DA. In the GWP one gringotts pillar is the size of a microfig when they are 2 or 3 times as big as a human irl. With 3x the size and more shops, i don't think a bigger microscale DA is out of the question.
