I know that Lucius has good chances to appear in DA, but I have my doubts they’ll want such an important character to stay exclusive to a 400$ set. Same goes for Lockhart, who could fill an entire CMF by himself with all of his costume variants It’s also the most likely place we’d get his snake cane. Although The Riddler did come with a question mark topper in the LEGO Batman Movie sets...so who really knows. They also went nuts with that theme. 10 hours ago, Felkin said: Both Gringotts and the Leaky Cauldron could easily be stand-alone sets, rather than part of Diagon Alley. Gringotts is more likely to be a stand-alone, though, since Lego has shied away from making pubs before (note the lack of Moe the Bartender in the Simpsons line, and the rumoured cancelled Moe's Tavern set). Including the Leaky Cauldron as part of a Diagon Alley D2C would allow them to include an iconic location without focusing on a place which sells alcohol. 4193 The London Escape would like to have a word with you. The pub was even named, instead of just another building. 8 hours ago, Guyon2002 said: The same thing was said about the 2020 Helicarrier and the Jurassic Park D2C. Everyone can make the decision for themselves ofc but ''you won't be disappointed'' no longer means anything to me That’s because too many people got themselves worked into a frenzy about it being the Community Center.

Shortly before the set was revealed the info about it being a gate with Rex leaked. Regardless of it not being the Visitor Center some leakers still hyped it up because they themselves thought it was cool which is exactly why I used it as an example.

Harry Potter is tremendously popular, and the quality of the sets is excellent, but let's be real: the popularity of this thread is probably inflated by at least 200 pages of wishlisting, jokes, camaraderie, and staving off boredom (much like this very post).
YetiZombie Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 For those in the US who still haven't gotten the Astronomy Tower yet (like me lol), Zavvi has it for 5% off and free shipping. I held out for this long in hopes to get VIP points from LEGO.com, but I can't resist anymore!

bluedog1111 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I think DA is most likely to leak on july 31st because it is the date of Harrys first trip to Diagon alley and his birthday. July 31st is such an important day in the harry potter books Lego probably wont pass up the chance to leak it then.

July 31st is such an important day in the harry potter books Lego probably wont pass up the chance to leak it then. If they don’t fully reveal it then they’ll definitely tease it. But seriously, the VIP question submission pretty much revealed to anyone not up to date on gossip that there definitely is a Harry Potter D2C coming, and by Friday it will be nearly two weeks since that submission page appeared, so they’ve definitely given themselves enough time to select questions for an interview on a very Harry Potter fandom significant day. And even if we don’t get a full D2C reveal this week, it’s almost certain we’ll get the CMF reveal this week (or at the very latest Monday or Tuesday of next week) - we have no idea when the D2C comes out, but we know the CMF comes out at the start of September, and they typically get revealed about a month before their release, so it’s time. Basically, the odds of us finishing this week without a Harry Potter reveal are slim, and if we don’t get I’d be inclined to suspect Lego was planning something but had to delay it for some reason (the Q&A being opened for questions less than two weeks before the 31st is too much of a coincidence).
sammy_zammy Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It’s a weird feeling how after months of anticipation it could finally be here

Now I’m just imagining all those straight laced Harry Potter Lego fans who never sully themselves with leaks and only found out about the D2C because of the VIP questionnaire getting antsy “it’s been nearly two weeks!” while all of us on here are just sitting around like the Titanic meme “it’s been 84 years...”
Modal Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 When did the first leak for DA come out? I don’t think I was following Lego until like May or so

The pub was part of the set, but it wasn't the focus. The set name 'The London Chase' doesn't mention the pub, and on the box art it looks like just a background building, which allows them to include the pub without being seen to "promote" alcohol. In the same way, I would expect the Leaky Cauldron to be part of the Diagon Alley D2C. Parents (who, let's face it, buy most Lego sets) may not want to buy a set that ONLY features a pub; they don't want their little children re-enacting what happens in a pub. "Look, mummy! Harry's drunk!" But as part of Diagon Alley, Lego can focus on the journey from the muggle world to the Wizarding world via the transforming brick wall, with the Leaky Cauldron as just one part of it... possibly including bottles of Butterbeer and Gigglewater.
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Today is the day of truth, first for the anticipated reveal tomorrow and second for my flimsy prediction model (Stan, don’t fail me now!) Sure, they could hold the Q&A event tomorrow without warning, but TLG typically either announce reveal videos (like the Ideas ones) in advance instead of shadow-dropping them or tease the set itself on Twitter. If neither happened today, I‘d be it a bit worried about tomorrow
chris6507 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 (edited) Anakin Skywalker waiting for the reveal of Diagon Alley: "if you are suffering as much as I am, PLEASE, tell me." Just out of curiosity... What other LEGO themes are you guys into? I'm very movie based with my LEGO. Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Jurassic World etc, with a little dabbling in super heroes (trying to quit) and star wars (way too many sets). Just curious what sort of mixes other people are into? Edited July 30, 2020 by chris6507

Basically every licensed theme in existence, Collectable Minifigures, Brickheadz, Ideas, the Chinese New Year sets, and Monkie Kid. Oh, and the new Art theme I‘m trying to be as completionist with these as possible, drawing the line only at the ludicrously overpriced sets *glares angrily at empty space in my display cabinets where the SDCC exclusives should be* Sets from other themes I buy occasionally with no attempt of completing them. These include Creator Expert (where I focus on the car models mainly), Hidden Side, Ninjago, City, Architecture etc.
