Would love to see all the new designs of the characters plus a massive Hogwarts to explore and hear dialogue from the films Maybe not now or anytime soon but a few years down the line (let's say 2022 and ahead)? Definetely

I wish I could wait for the sun, but I could be waiting months for a decent clear day here. I think the last sunny day we had was in September! lol Try using Shpock, quite a lot of older hp lego comes up cheap

You know that it will be licensed, but maybe that won't be Harry Potter again. If what I heard is correct, Harry Potter may be delayed to Jan 2021. If that is correct it must be to include FB figs I guess
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 That’d be weird I hope Itaria is wrong here, but he usually isn’t, so I’m bracing myself for this. If it’s true, I hope the replacement is something worthy

Thank you. Well if that means we get the HP figures that we are meant to be getting plus more FB characters I suppose it's not a bad thing. But in another way, I'm sure the characters will compliment the new sets so we may have to wait longer for characters we are expecting to see.

The delay is propably because of the Corona virus. The Lego factory in Zhejiang is in a province which is currently under quarantine and is the 4th most seriously hit province by the virus. Most of the parts for the cmfs come from this plant in China. Because of the disturbances in the supply chain this might even affect other sets and licenses soon Edited February 25, 2020 by Metanoios91

That was my theory! @Itaria No Shintaku said only that it may be delayed to 2021.. Since it is January it is maybe to early to include FB anyway, so the corona virus may be a more plausible explanation

However, that is a long push back. Still hoping it's not true tbh.
tafkatb Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I was kinda surprised it was ever rumored for this year to begin with; a release coinciding with FB3 does make a lot more sense.
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Or maybe it was pushed back earlier than we think it was and the leakers just weren‘t informed in time? Remember, CMF series always use code names in the retailer catalogues, so the info has to come from other sources
Micmac Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 But did they not confirm at the toy fairs that the harry potter series 2 cfm were coming out this year? I can imagine delays if the corona virus continues for a long time but all possible minifigures series would be delayed and would not replacing it with another option be more time consuming? I'm not sure about this rumour.

I'm not sure about this rumour. Good point. If the virus was the reason, they also wouldn’t be able to produce a replacement. Sure, they could probably move the production to another of their factories, but that would also be true for the HP series
lego_guyon02 Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 If the CMF is delayed that's both a good and bad thing tbh. The CMF not coming out this year would free up a lot of my budget to buy other sets, though the delay would also mean having to wait a lot longer for the characters that were going to be made. Besides that there is the FB3 ''problem'': are they going to add FB figures to the current lineup or replace some of the HP figures? We'll have to wait and see I guess
Darth Shadowthrone Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I wonder if this makes Fantastic Beasts sets more or less likely next year. This is wild speculation but it seems to me that Lego were possibly weighing up making Fantastic Beasts sets as a tie-in for next year but decided against it so decided to have the much less costly option of a few minifigures to tie into the film instead. This would be a shame as I would really like a Zouwu in Lego but hopefully this means we're more likely to get a Phoenix or Swooping Evil attached to a minifigure.

RODDY Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I don’t know if I can survive another year without a Lockhart minifigure... Please tell there is a Diagon Alley D2C with his blue outfit, please let this be true...

Lockhart is one of the possibilities being tossed around for that, since he’s got plenty of different outfits to choose from.
Clone OPatra Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 CMF aren't produced solely in China anymore anyway, so disruptions in the Chinese factory due to the virus wouldn't really impact the CMF too much more than any other line that uses parts made there, though perhaps CMF still uses a higher percentage. Perhaps the second Wizarding World CMF series was in fact always planned to coincide with Fantastic Beasts 3, since FB3 was originally slated for November 2020. Once the film was pushed a year, LEGO might have been waffling on whether or not to keep the CMF in 2020 or waiting to see if FB3 was truly going to come out in 2021. It appears that WB does have production in place now to make that date, so LEGO could confidently push off the CMF to coincide with it.
Robert8 Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 While the coronavirus might play a factor, I think the delay of the movie is the real reason here.
Accio Lego Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 So, two good things about the CMF getting pushed back: A) it might still have 22 characters since the lower 16 number was for this fall’s series, which we now know isn’t Wizarding World B) it’s making me take those rumors of a $100 set in August more seriously. If Lego wanted to release certain characters (i.e. Order of the Phoenix members) this year and were planning on some of them coming in the CMF to compliment a set, then maybe when the CMF got pushed back they decided to beef up the set so they could include those characters originally meant for the CMF in it. My money’s on it being Grimmauld Place or the MoM.

Star Wars and Super Heroes are better. Especially they have a good selection of minifigures.
