Surge Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Can someone explain what the deal with lordvoldemort is. It might be off topic but seeing what everybody is saying is making me so curious. I tried looking up his account but i found nothing. when he was banned, were his comments deleted?

There is a Taboo curse placed on that name. Every time you mention his name, a microscale snatcher apparates into this thread
HalfBloodPrince Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 We’re probably gonna get 700 pages by the end of the year probably lol 4 minutes ago, Surge said: Can someone explain what the deal with lordvoldemort is. LordVoldemort was a troll, thats why he was banned, faked leaks from the HP Sets from 2018-2020

I honestly don't really care as long as the sideburns and hair just connect to each other because what we got just looks a bit weird. Recoloring Harry's year 1-3 hairpiece as suggested by @RogueTwo could definetely work.
sebastian666 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Wow. Page 500! I know we joked about it, but I never actually thought we would have this many pages of conversation before Diagon Alley was revealed. Absolutely incredible. This may sound corny, but I just want to take a minute to say that I appreciate each and every one of you on this forum. For me, the fellowship that we share over LEGO and Harry Potter has been a shining light through one of the darkest periods I can remember. Just as the Harry Potter books were a welcome escape for me from the real world as a little kid - the excitement around the LEGO Harry Potter sets and the fans here that fuel that feeling has given me something positive to look forward to every day. Things are still pretty bad for us here in the US, six months after the virus first hit. And I just got word that my university is staying closed and sticking to online learning for fall semester. But I am grateful to have this forum and all of you with your (sometimes crazy, sometimes brilliant) theories and opinions to distract myself. Here’s to the next 500 pages. Thanks guys. Always.
BacktoBricks Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I couldn't have put it better myself @sebastian666. I'm so grateful for this community and love our banter. ?
Holden Brickfield Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Cheers to that, @sebastian666. Having this forum has truly been a blessing these last few months, and despite the occasional craziness that ensues on here, I wouldn’t trade it for anything, so thank you, to all of you on here
Huigberts Builds Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Yay 500 pages! We made it! @sebastian666 couldn't agree more. It really helps to get ones mind of everything going on in the world right now. Thank you all!
RealGeronimo11 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 If I could put a gif up right now, it would be the ending of Chamber of Secrets, but with me and everyone else applauding @sebastian666 for those kind words instead of Hogwarts applauding Hagrid (I actually lowkey love that ending, even though it's very cheesy). This whole thing has been pants, but I concur that this has been a rare aspect of fun and enjoyment amidst everything else. Here's to 500 more pages troll-free and banter-full!
Modal Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I rediscovered Lego and found this forum because of Covid. Started with the Lego Treehouse and now back to Harry Potter :) thank you all for helping me pass the time and hyping me up for potentially the best Lego set of all time! just to make sure, are we 100% sure on the September 1st release date? Want to make sure I am prepared for all scenarios.

Want to make sure I am prepared for all scenarios. Well it is only a rumour, even if backed up by the likes of FalconFan. That being said, Lego did do the VIP question event so something is being announced "soon", but it could in theory be the CMF.
Fenghuang0296 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 So, what’s the book that Harry has in the CMF?
RealGeronimo11 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Just now, Fenghuang0296 said: So, what’s the book that Harry has in the CMF? It's Advanced Potion-Making, his sixth-year potions book that the Half-Blood Prince previously owned, that he has in the Half-Blood Prince book and film
MaxHeadroom Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Hooray for 500+ pages! personally I really don't think the young Harry hair would work for Ollivander. I would prefer they just keep his current hair and move his sideburns on the faceprint.

mark1991t Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I think the current hairpiece is quite accurate to what is seen in philosopher stone.
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 @sebastian666: Well said I also really appreciate this thread and the community in general, it has been a fun couple of months and a welcome distraction during these trying times. Thanks a lot to all of you!

The accuracy of the current hairpiece isn't the problem, it's the sideburns not connecting to it and it ending up looking weird Also, @sebastian666, well said!
Frizzlefry25 Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Wow 500! Congrats everyone! I have to say I am more of a Star Wars UCS collector, (although I am not excited about Mos Eisley). I got into this board to keep up with the rumors as my girls have gotten into Harry Potter. I definitely now find myself watching and enjoying this board, more than the Star Wars boards, and I am excited for DA! I think it will fall under a family Lego project.
sammy_zammy Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 @sebastian666and @ everyone - thank you too! It’s been an awesome journey. Well it’s not finished yet - aim for 600 next? not unreasonable if we get a few big leaks Fitting that I just finished the Astronomy Tower! Oh, and my uni is doing both online and on campus stuff although I think lectures are all online. Apparently no students will be disadvantaged if they can’t come in though. Thankfully I’m on an internship this year so hopefully won’t have to deal with it!

Balrogofmorgoth Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I think both Ollivander and Nearly Headless Nick (who both use the same hairpiece in the same color funnily enough) would look better with the Trolley Witch hairpiece. Their current hairpieces work fine, they’re accurate enough, but I think the other one would be even better for both of them

Anyone here have the GWP Ollivander and 2018 Trolley Witch to try his out?
BenderBrau Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Here's a general, poorly sketched idea how I think it could look like I'm aware it's not accurate, but I think it's a relatively good guess given we're getting 8 locations (9 with unconfirmed Gringotts) out of about 20 that are named in the books. Also it works quite well as an upscaled version of the GWP. 3 points: I don't think the set will be "modular building" deep, could be even half of that, and it will definitely have open back. brick entrance in the middle could be where the set splits in half, so that you can display it three ways - like above, store fronts facing each other or back to back Leaky Cauldron will very likely not have a front, makes sense as it is in the muggle world, but still a bit of a bummer. Another thing, I and a few others have pointed out the interiors may not be representative of what's in front, meaning some of the shops could have limited, if any, space inside. But I'm fine with the Leaky Cauldron taking up space of less recognisable shops. I mean, DAE gives a damn about Scribbulus? It shoul've been Owl Emporium or Magical Menagerie instead.
