One meter wide??? Holy smokes that is HUGE! I'm devastated about Gringotts not being included. It's going to be a really tough decision when the most well-known and important building is missing from DA.

With all this information dropping all of a sudden, I'd be surprised if the reveal wasn't tomorrow.

EDIT: I also hope the shops can be rearranged so you don't need the alley to be a meter wide. That's going to be really hard to display.

The only thing that pisses me off is the thought of having to wait an entire year for the Gringotts stand alone set.

That set didn't specifically refer to connecting to other sets though. Regardless, I'm still excited that LEGO is saying that, so at least they're (presumably) thinking about Gringotts!

I think it’s better like this. I’d rather have a complete Gringotts with a gorgeous facade, detailed interior and the vaults, cartwheels and dragon. All that wouldn’t have been possible in DA.

Plus, no Gringotts at all gave them opportunity to really squeeze the potential out of the other shops, so I’m happy.

I wouldn’t say one entire year. I think we’d get Gringotts during the December/January wave

Imagine how long it will be once Gringotts is added ?

isn’t there an owl store? Maybe there will be some caged owls to represent that store without actually using the building.

I think we will probably get an expansion to this set, similar to the docks for Ninjago.

“29 cm in height × 102 cm in width × 13 cm“

That’s a long skinny set! For my fellow Yanks in the room, that’s ~11.5” tall, ~40“ wide, and ~5” depth. Or in Lego terms, that’s about 4x32 studs long and 16 studs deep. ?

Honestly - I was one of the people that really wanted Gringotts (and refused to believe they'd exclude it), but with 5.5k pieces I'm sure it'll be a lovely set with ton of attention to detail. And if they're already referring to a future Gringotts now, that means they would've designed this set with an attachable Gringotts in mind (instead of trying to shoehorn it in later).

HP hasn't had a Winter wave, has it? The past two years have been Summer/Early Fall release dates right? Or am I just forgetting things

Gringotts will definitely be its own set at some point. I’m more worried about the Leaky Cauldron, I don’t think they’ll make that a standalone set. Hopefully they at least include the brick wall entrance

The entrance is referred to in the description

Don't the set descriptions usually list the minifigures? Strange that it didn't in this case. It's almost as if LEGO was still drafting the description for the set and accidentally published it for a moment

I will riot if the "magical" creatures end up being owls and rats :DD But yeah, I could see them including pygmy puff with Ginny potentially. It was after all purchased from WWW if I recall correctly.

Yes that is where they first appeared, and since the only other time they appear in the movies is on the Hogwarts Express it makes sense that this would be the only set they could possibly appear in. Frankly, that would be even better than getting Arnold as an accessory for Ginny in a CMF, since it would mean getting multiples in pink and purple

I mean, it was put up before the set was officially announced and taken offline shortly after, so that’s probably exactly what happened.

Just for reference this is what 102 cm looks like using some of my custom (dusty) Diagon Allay that I never finished. Gringots is 20cm tall so the Buildings are a lot taller in the new sets (9cm taller) and the old Olivanders is about 8.5 cm deep so some will go to 13cm deep in the new set. I hope there is a street section included and am still shocked that Gringotts isn't included but more sets for it next year i suppose. I'll just use the old one with it for now.

I'm honestly not sure whether to be happy or to cry. On the one hand, everything is going to be so detailed. On the other hand my Diagon Alley still isn't going to be complete! :-/

It's just funny because I'm a software engineer and assume that a company like LEGO has enough precautions in place to prevent something like that from happening. Guess not :shrug_oh_well:

I think we can safely say that coordination between different departments/offices and cutting edge digital platforms are not LEGO’s forte. :head_back:

Wow! A meter long?? Well shoot, looks like I’ll really have to consider how I’m displaying it, as I don’t have any table space that long for it, unless of course I use my electric keyboard table, then I have no place for the keyboard—ahhhhhhhhhhh but no, this is exciting, I’m anxious to see how they’ll do Gringotts next year, and that piece count is spectacular. Hopefully the reveal comes tomorrow or Friday!

My existing sets already need a place for me to properly display them. Now I need to find room for this too

Yeah, that must be the US description. Inches for measurement and not machine-translated English. So Daily Prophet is probably just entrance in a building shared with another store who’s interior takes up the whole back of the building.
