My existing sets already need a place for me to properly display them. Now I need to find room for this too

Well look on the bright side, as far as problems go, these ones are good problems to have

Yeah, that must be the US description. Inches for measurement and not machine-translated English. So Daily Prophet is probably just entrance in a building shared with another store who’s interior takes up the whole back of the building.

The region for the cached page actually appears to be from "India".

Not to say it isn't the same as the US description though! :-)

I don't know if there's any further information to be extracted from it, but here is the cached link if anyone wants to take a look:

Even the famous hat-lifting entrance to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes™ is powered by hand.

Oh that’s awesome! Never imagined they’d be able to fit that function in, now I’m even more curious as to how big WWW is going to be...

Looks like the same description may also have appeared on the English version of the Singapore page as well.

Just found a cached version of the set description in English through a google result. Says basically the same stuff, but bit more Englishy! Might ruin things a bit for people hoping for a full Daily Prophet or Leaky Cauldron though. Be warned.

I'm sorry for all the ones that wanted Gringott to be in this set but I'm way happier with this. While a Gringott and a Leaky Cauldron separate set would absolutely sell there's no way we could have gotten Flourish and Botts or the Daily Prophet as standalones.

I'm probably more hyped for this than I was for Hogwarts. ?

Chances the reveal (or leaks) might be nigh?

“book-signing event at Flourish & Blotts™ bookseller”

This pretty much hints at a possible minifig lineup? Lockhart obviously, Molly, Ginny, Lucius and Draco at least? And the photographer.

In WWW, the twins and we could probably see a 2nd Lavender? (Bland variant, but probably a 2nd chance to make things right? )

I just wonder how many variants of the golden trio we’ll get...

I'm a long time lurker emerging from my shell to comment (I'm in stage 4 lockdown, gotta pass the time somehow!).  I wasn't sure how I was going to feel if Gringotts wasn't included, but now, I don't actually mind.  A stand alone Gringotts that connects to Diagon Alley would be pretty awesome actually, cause just think of the detail that can be included.

I've got a question - does anyone know roughly how long it will stay being sold by Lego directly?  Mum said I could have it for Christmas (yes, I am a 33 year old who still asks for Lego ), but she would prefer to layby it, if possible. Thanks!

Hahaha! I'm 33 years old too and my mother-in-law just asked what I wanted for my Birthday? And I said LEGO! :-D My actual mother would never pay for LEGO! Rofl.

So it doesn’t mention an “entrance” in the US description?

also, I’m thinking the ice cream parlor and scribbulus were added for their diverse color (yellow and blue). You think that was a reason to add them? It’ll be a gorgeous set I’m sure

How did people find the English one? It shows up for me only has the page not existing

I personally had an option up the top where I selected View Text Version Only. It does come up normally for a brief second, but then LEGO's cookies kick in and make it dissappear. But if you view page source or text only version you can see it all.

I originally just googled the set number and saw part of the description in the google text, and that's why I investigated further! :-D

The English version also doesn't mention combining it with other sets, but that part doesn't seem like a translation mistake. It's possible that the English description simply has less info than the Japanese one.

I'm wondering if the "entrance" part is due to translation as the sentence comes right after the mention of Daily Prophet in the Japanese version, but the English version specifically says the "Daily Prophet Entrance".

I translated just that sentence of it, and the result was "There are a lot of famous stores that appear in the movie, such as And Brots™ Bookstore, Weasley Wizard Weeds™, and the entrance to The Daily Prophet Newspaper™!". So that part was originally a translation mistake.

I know it’s not very Lego but I would love to have a pub set like Leaky Cauldron. Or just a British pub in general.

I know it's not Harry Potter (And also not a set you can buy). But did you ever see the Winchester Pub set from Shaun of the Dead on LEGO Ideas? That was pretty damn cool! :-D

Must suck being 15 years old and not being able to recreate London's Most Magical Shopping Street! Rofl.

Yeah, grammar is the thing most likely to get screwy with translation programs like whatever that Japanese description was put through.

That might be part of it, plus I suspect they’ll be going with the theme park version of Fortescue’s and featuring a giant ice cream cone on the facade (it would explain why we only see a specials menu on the leaked sticker sheet - Lego isn’t cruel enough to make us apply stickers to a cone), so that will be pretty distinctive as well. Incidentally, both those stores are probably better known for featuring in the Orlando theme park then their appearance in the movies. In fact, the only stores in the set to not have an actual location that you can go in and buy things from is Flourish & Blotts and the Daily Prophet offices.

This was talked about a few pages ago, but now that we know the piece count for DA, where does it rank on the scale of biggest set?

For piece count, it looks like it is 4th.

Just out of curiosity do other people prefer the old LEGO manuals where they were split up by building/section or the new really thick ones all bound together? This would have been a great set to build with my wife with a couple of books each to build simultaneously, but it's probably all going to be bound together in one book which means I will probably have to build with computer instructions (which are never clear).
