Jumping on the bandwagon of asking people what the first thing they think of is, my gf said "the bank, either that or Ollivander's". She's a slightly-more-than-casual HP fan (read all the books once, watched the movies a few times).

Interesting... On Facebook in the message for the City Main Square set it shows a URL like this: https://lego.build/CityMainSquareReveal so I tried the same for Diagon Alley https://lego.build/DiagonAlleyReveal which resulted in a 404 page, but the end URL (http://lego.com/da-dk/product?p=75978&cmp=social-ntv8iu-SHOP) includes the set number of Diagon Alley. So I assume they already have a page for it which they just need to make public like they accidentally did on the Japanese website. :P

They just tweeted the same thing they posted on Instagram an hour ago, so now all hopes go to tomorrow

Yup. Hopefully, we'll get the reveal tomorrow.

Nice find!

Bummer that it is (most likely) not revealed today, but I have high hopes for tomorrow. If not, it will be a long weekend...

Honestly, with the leaks yesterday, the wait for the reveal has become a bit easier. Knowing it’s 5500 pieces and what’s included has satiated my needs...for now :)

Excellent find. I don't see why they'd create that short link and have it redirect unless they were just about to reveal it, since that's the one they use on social media. It seems like it'll be tomorrow!

Well colour me surprised at that description. I’m still holding out hope that Gringotts is included but I guess it’s not looking likely... In the first movie the cobbled street leads to Gringotts and the shots of those wonky pillars and the dazzling interior (and that creepy goblin with the teeth!!) are very striking. I just can’t imagine releasing a set called Diagon Alley and not including Gringotts... to me, that’s the same as not including Olivander’s. I also am in the camp that it’s a bit much to ask people for (rumoured) £400-450 and to not include one of the most iconic locations, however fitting it is for a future separate set.

HOWEVER. Lego is an expensive toy (and hobby). It makes sense that this big/expensive of a set caters to the more obscure shops/characters and leaves room for separate sets for the more iconic locations/situations so kids/parents don’t have to shell out a small fortune to reenact the most famous/iconic scenes. I can see it from both sides, but personally I will be disappointed if Gringotts isn’t included here.

I have to say I'm glad that it appears Gringott's will not be part of this release.  I always thought that including it would take away too much from the actual bustling street/alley which is what I first visualize when one says Diagon Alley.  I know Gringott's is part of it but I always picture it as a huge building at the very end separated from all the other shops and much prefer it be a separate stand alone set.  Likewise The Leaky Cauldron is the entrance to the whole thing but not neccessarily actually at the opposite end.  I expect I am going to be very happy with the Diagon Alley they give us but wish it included the owl & robe shops.  I may need to start creating a few of the missing pieces on my own.

So I don't know if this means anything but I did a bit of research and it seems like none of this year's d2c sets have been revealed on a Friday. Maybe this will be the first one for this year.

It's going to be revealed on Saturday by all the sources I have heard but seems like Monday for lego to do. There is a huge chance of it leaking over the weekend

I‘m definitely not holding my breath again :snicker: Personally, I‘m hoping for leaks instead since those can happen any day. I just need to know if I have to rearrange a ton of sets or not

They don‘t reveal stuff on weekends, so the chances are anything but huge

I expect a tease on Friday so we all have to suffer through the weekend and maybe part of next week before they finally do the big reveal some time next week.

I have one question about the leaks: who could leak it? Like, is there someone with a full on DA box and pieces already?

It could be that LEGO has send some sets out for review purposes. They offcourse can leak it.

There is loads of ways it can leak. People packaging them in the factory. The sets arriving at lego stores and being built ready for release day. Some random person can take an image of the box and send it all over the Internet

Interesting. Are either a fan of HP or Lego or both? It also shows how much WWW has become a part of DA for a lot of people, despite some people on here having voiced the opinion that they wouldn't mind it being left out of DA for now in favour of other shops. I suppose it just shows that Lego can't really win. :classic:

Neither but they have seen the movies a couple of times. Most of their LEGO and HP exposure comes straight from me

They don't reveal stuff during the weekends though

The sets are getting shipped out to stores a bit before the releasedate and some reviewers also get their set in advance so they can publish a review on the day the set releases. Sometimes one or two of those copies get out there.

Say they are going to reveal it say next Wednesday then the copies will be arriving for people to review right now. Someone is gonna mess up or deliberately leak it over the week. Leakers love Sundays haha the lambo, haunted House and crocodile locomotive were all leaked on a Sunday!

does anybody know the exact dimensions for Diagon Alley?

“Measuring over 11” (29cm) high, 40” (102cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep“ from the English product description

For reference, the Astronomy Tower is just under 17” high and around 6” deep from the front of the viaduct entrance to the back of the greenhouse. The turret in the Whomping Willow set is exactly 11”. I am really glad that they aren’t making this set ridiculously tall so that it looks out of scale compared to Hogwarts. I imagine if / when they make the Gringott’s set, it will be closer to 17”.

Different topic: I noticed that the diary of Moaning Myrtle seems to have a sticker applied on this photo which was then printed over (golden clasps at the edges). Could someone who also has the CMFs please check if this is the case for all or if this is just a weird production error?
