Imagine if Hermione's mom and dad really did come out.

If we get those two on top of the 16-20 we’ve been speculating about, then yeah bring ‘em on. Those two have the potential of either being a welcome surprise or a dreaded inclusion

Why does Lego insist on making this reveal as un-hype as possible. Another company has been doing that this year, Nintendo. They just Shadow drop game announcements on Twitter instead of hyping up a Nintendo Direct or announcement. It’s like they don’t want us to look forward to anything.

I don't think this can be blamed on LEGO at all. Some people speculated we would be getting an early VIP release and the reveal would come 2 weeks before it was available. We then started getting hyped up about the DA reveal weeks before we should've.

I think they had a decent strategy for hyping the DA set. 2 months after the main wave released LEGO opened a Q&A and revealed the AC, then 2 weeks of speculating about the CMF (LEGO didn't plan for the whole thing to leak early) then 2 weeks to speculate about the DA until it was released.

That’s hyping up the small active fan base on a place like Eurobricks, though. I’m talking about the average person who doesn’t follow Lego as deeply - they will see “New $400 Harry Potter set” on mainstream sites, the same way the Lego NES reached out to an audience outside of Lego.

I remember hearing about 2018 Hogwarts on a gaming forum, I wasn’t following Lego at the time. The big licensed sets make the rounds on the internet once they are officially revealed.

CMFs found here in Northern California. About half a box left. But I only checked that one because I was told it had them. Three others I didn’t feel like going to. I’m going to be splitting a box, so I didn’t want to go overboard anyways, bought four.

At Target? Where at the store do you typically find them? Are they always near the Lego aisle?

Just my two cents on this but what are the odds Lego will be filling in the complete Weasley family? I mean Bill and Percy have pretty substantial roles in the later books. Maybe when they get to them the Order of the Phoenix will be fleshed out a bit more as well? Fletcher, Bill, a pink Tonks, a decent Sirius etc. are characters that feel like they have been kept as a trick card up Lego's sleeve?

I think it's likely we see Bill about next year. Percy seems to me like either a cmf candidate, diagon alley or a ministry set (although that will be a somewhat boring variant). Ofcourse we are still left with Charlie, who quite honestly appeared clearer on screen than some of the other characters we are getting. Although it's just on a photo so I only see him appear in a cmf series. But I think it's not too unlikely considering the figures we've received so far, perhaps even somewhat likely.

Yeah some companies are making some weird choices. I wonder what's the reasoning.

I agree. Do I want them over other characters? Not really. But I do want them eventually. And as any other set is very unlikely and a cmf would be an even more dreaded inclusion. So I gladly take them.

Would not surprise me

However if I was a betting man I would have lost all my Galleons on betting about the DA reveal today and if it is not revealed by the end of this week will lose all my Sickles as well, so what do I know

I'm glad I didn't find the cmf Fred and George to take a bet. Although I still have my Friday prediction left xD.

At the rate we're writting, the Diagon Alley will be revealed at page 666

If we just count to 1000 we will eventually be right. (Please don't make it 1001 just to prove me wrong Lego ;p)

Every time falconfan posts, I get super excited, but yet again, it's nothing DA related. How is it that the Ninjago City gardens have more info than DA, when it's released months after?

i guess Lego have a really really tight seal on info/pictures about DA

I hate to do this. It has probably been answered before... but were we expecting two other sets aside from DA, advent calendar and minifigs?

No the only expected reveal left is DA.

Diagon Alley is delayed until 2021. We'll get new Trolls instead.

You gave me a small heart attack not gonna lie lol

Yeah. I found them on the shelves of the LEGO aisle in the box.whereas, Series 20 was on the end cap, and previously at the registers. But that was a different store. Best to check both areas.

Haha, same here. If the set was delayed until 2021, I would invent a freeze machine and freeze myself down until the release.

So how does their current strategy go against this? The general public wasn't hyped before the reveal of the 2018 D2C and they aren't hyped before this year's D2C.

Weren't there 2?

There was a 2 set wave that came out a bit later than the main wave last year. Plus this year there were fake rumors of more sets.

Sorry I was jokingly saying they were trolling but didn’t wanna get modded for name calling so deleted it:innocent:

Ah, I was thinking they were just referring to the fans rumours, of which there was only one more from what I remember. Forgot that Rose of Voldemort released later

Because 2018 D2C was announced on July 25th and not a week before it came out

Confirmation that people have been finding the Advent Calendar in the wild has shown up on Instagram. Full group shot of all the minifigures and front and back close ups of Parvati, Padma, and Cho. The twin are sharing a double sided head and all the torsos have back prints. Can’t wait to add them to the Yule Ball scene. :classic:

Irrelevant to the current discussion, but the Patil twins reuse the same dual sided head a la Fred & George from 2011. I thought they were going to be different heads with no 2nd printing, so it’s better like this.

Edit: @Accio Lego beat me to it XD
