I’m a bit dissapointed that Lucius doesn’t have his snake cane. If they made dragon’s end (6224825) for ninjago, why dont they make snake one.

You can make one yourself pretty easily with the Ninjago snake mould (3rd pic in the instagram thread)

Because they use that dragon one all the time, a snake cane would have very limited uses

The torso is almost definitely included separately in the same set...the description mentioned something about recreating different scenes, so this would support that. I can't see them including it in a GWP (that we know nothing about).

But overall, the set looks amazing! Love the colors and the street included with it. I'm also a bit disappointed by the minifig selection, but at least I'll have an opportunity to fill out DA with some of the extra minifigures from my existing collection ?

Starting with the good stuff, Loving the buildings, I don't think we could have asked for more with the quality of these builds. They are stunning and seem to be very detailed inside too. Delighted we got some pavement as well to display figures properly outside. Not to sure how the building will look when placed facing each other, not sure there will be enough street between the buildings.

The figures have good and bad points, love that we got some obscure characters. Ginny has a pink floor length cloak on in the Chamber of secrets scene in the bookshop. Not sure they have done a good job with that figure. The trio all have the same torso which is very disappointing as they are all wearing their school cloak in that scene but they all have different visible muggle clothes underneath. It's always shocking going from cmf quality characters back to lame limited printed characters that we get in sets.

Still very happy with it, some better photos would be good now.

While it's possible the pin holes indicate another set, it's also entirely possible they are there just to allow us to connect these sets up in any order we wish.

Regarding the torso, maybe, TLG 'let' it be leaked, in order to find where the leaks were coming from? Set up different torsos and which ever torso version leaked, they'd know where it came from :shrug_confused: doubtful, but I guess a possibility, given how clamped down in leaks they've been recently. They have to be figuring out how stuff is getting leaked somehow.

Also, while the minifigs are seeming a little lacklustre, there's always going to be room for improvement and not everyone will always be happy. Given how brilliant they've been doing with the sets, and how actual value for money they've been, I think we've been a bit spoiled and we're applying the same extremely high expectations on the minifigs.

I'll be honest, I'm happy with 14 minifigs. Theyve spoiled us with an amazing set of cmf too, so easily not a problem.

Where does the general mauve look of WWW come from ?? It’s certainly not that colour in the movies ? Looking at an image search I think it seems to be the lighting from the tour ? I’m not keen either on the pink of the Quidditch Supplies store. ☹️

So what's the betting that those Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Quidditch torsos will go for silly amounts of the secondary market ... And then turn up in a Quidditch 'student' pack next year?

  • Olivanders looks great, probably the best build of the entire set.
  • Quality Quidditch Supplies looks great, but it did not need the second layer
  • Flourish & Blotts looks great, probably the most accurate of the set
  • Weasley's Wizard Wheezes is a mixed bag but looks fine I guess
  • Knockturn Alley entrance looks neat

Everything else kinda feels unnecessary honestly - which is a shame as it seems aspects were left out intentionally. We don't have the Diagon Alley entrance which is a shame and we are also missing key features such as the Leakey Couldron or Gringotts Bank I'd easily be willing to sacrifice the Ice Cream Parlor, Daily Prophet Segment and Scribbulus for a Leakey Couldron with Diagon Alley Entrance.

I don't get why people are complaining about Lockhart's hair, the piece is great, the colour could be a bit more blonde, but the piece matches quite well.

The set itself is so beautiful and so well done, definitely one of my favourite sets this year. All of the exteriors and interiors look pretty perfect, I love every small detail (like Raveclaw's and Hufflepuff's Quidditch torsos).

Minifigure selection on the other hand... sucks pretty hard. Only 14 minfigures with only 4 new characters. I'd prefer more people who actually work at Diagon Alley, or even more random wizards to make those streets feel less empty. But oh well...

I also feel that Lego (as a company) got what they deserved - that's exactly what happens if you wait too long for a reveal.

Wow! That looks amazing.

For some reason something looks weird to me about the roofline but I think it’s because I’m looking at a 2D photo of a 2D box so there’s no depth.

The detail inside and outside is incredible!

I also love the archway between WWW and F&B... I see they stole the Barracuda Bay window technique!

I’m also liking how the box doesn’t have the banner at the top with the trio - they’ve just put the logo on open sky

The builds are nice. WWW is a decent conclusion to the set. The figures are really poor though. The only ones that are interesting/desirable are F&G, Lucious, and Gilderoy. I would guess Gilderoy is wearing lilac because he will be (at least partially) reused for a Chamber of Secrets set. They needed at least 2-3 more minifigures though to get this to an acceptable amount. The street looks very dead and that's just looking at it from the angled photo on the box. I imagine it will look even more empty when viewed from the front.

Also I like having 3 owls but they are all pre-existing owls. We get the flying Hedwig, the brown owl, and the winking/damaged eye LEGO city owl. Someone mentioned seeing a pigmy puff in WWW but I can't seem to find that.

It's also cool to see the chairs above FF although they don't look useable.

My old eyes can't make out the details like you young ninjas, I'm gonna need hi-res images.

I will definitely get it, but I'm not as excited as I thought I would be - I was so sure I would love it at first sight even with a crappy leaked photo. Hopefully it is just the image quality.

Ditto :classic:

Looks like we get 3 owls, a rat, and a spider at the least as far as animals go. Finally, they’re steering back towards the classics.

3 owls was better that feared, and maybe a rabbit for WWW as well

First of all real happy it is not in micro-scale :grin_wub:
I need better pictures, but looks better the more I look at it :sweet:

Maybe my earlier idea of two shops per future set is not so bad at all since all the parts here looks to be 2 shops in 1 per modular :excited:

Guys I got it, Daily Prophet is out of business because they kept printing the same issue instead of covering more timely news. The photographer is delusional in thinking an article about a new book will put the paper back on the market :head_back:

What's everyone's favourite shop

For now, without seeing HD pictures, F&B paired with Fortescue's, Ollivander is close second. I'm surprised WWW looks this good, being all lavender and orange. QQS, I don't know what to think. ground floor is excellent, the above is... so annoyingly pink

Do you think that the DA entrance could have been left out so that they can just connect it to a Leaky Cauldron set 'cause that seems a reasonable idea. Also does anyone else think that people like Rita Skeeter may appear in other sets along the line as well?

Alright this may be wishful thinking but is it possible that Borgin and Burkes is a GWP?

also does Scribbulus have a door?

Maybe and I can't tell

I hate to say this, but the minifigures are such a let down for me...And Lockardt looks somehow off, not sure why. The buildings are amazing though

Wow!!! What an absolutely beautiful set. I won’t go into great detail on my thoughts because most of what I’m feeling right now has already been said.

But my highlights are definitely how amazing Ollivander’s and Flourish & Blott’s turned out. Pretty disappointed by the decision to make QQS pink, though. The building is olive green in the movies and only appears pinkish in the glare of the colored lighting at the London WB Studio Tour. The designers obviously used the Studio Tour as their reference for this set and not the films.

Also, maybe it’s just the good ol American in me - but does anyone else get a weird Western vibe from this set? Maybe it’s the box cover art that makes the buildings look and feel low with a lot of big open sky.

I am fascinated by the mystery of the missing Harry Potter minifig and the pin holes connecting to Knockturn Alley... Could there be a surprise set in store for us? What kind of GWP build would include Harry with a sooty face?
