If you look up Lego_Fans_News on Instagram you can see a picture of Lucius and Lockhart taken from the box so it’s still pretty blurry

It’s on their story.

I'm in there - it's just the same pics but zoomed in so it's still hard to tell. For example, the zoomed in pic of Lucius doesn't show any red, but you can see the red on his torso on the front box image.

Here's what I'm planning on getting:

1 copy: Luna, Bellatrix, Myrtle and the twins

2 copies: Dumbledore, Hermione, Ron, James, Lilly, Ginny, Kingsley and Sprout

3 copies: Griphook, possibly Ginny

4 copies: Harry and Neville

Is anyone planning on getting doubles of any figure? For S1 I got an extra Moody (for Crouch Jr.), as well as the uniformed version of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dean, Malfoy, Neville and Cho for extra students. I've seen people buy doubles of pajamas Harry and Dobby for other students/other house elves. If Graves wasn't so rare I'd have got another.

For S2, apart from Neville for and extra MBOM and student torso, I don't think I'll bother. The butterbeer glass and sword of Gryffindor are the only other pieces I'd like more of (the sword for something other than HP).

I just want a few extra of some accessories. Since a friend & I are splitting a box(with me just buying a set) I’ll just get the extras that way. I’m not much into making custom minifigs(outside of the BaM towers), but that’s mostly because I shy away from it because I know I’d likely go overboard with students & I’d rather spend that money on sets.

A higher res image of Lucius have confirmed he re-uses the old Superman/Loki head like we thought. May not be ground breaking news, but its nice to have a confirmation

Meh. I would‘ve preferred a new face print for Lucius over the somewhat pointless update Ollivander received, but oh well... Too bad Lockhart‘s face isn‘t visible  I still hope that one is new at least

I went the other day, and there was a TWO HOUR wait just to get inside. I didn't even wait. I would recommend south coast plaza or Ontario mills.

Waited three the other day at the store in Las Vegas, and that was only to pickup. What took so long is the people who only go there to look at sets. They should have separate lines of they're going to do curbside, especially for the upcoming DA launch (which if there's no preorder, you can bet I'm going to be there at 9am, first in line waiting for the store to open at 11am to get the set so I don't have to wait 3 hours again). How hard is it to have a line specifically for people who want to look at the sets, and another for those who want to buy something??

The lack of random shoppers in DA doesn‘t surprise me in the slightest since they can‘t be kitbashed as easily as civilians in City or Creator Expert sets, so that would pretty much require at least one new print per minifig  The idea of a people pack of sorts is definitely neat, but I‘m afraid that‘d be a bit too niche. Who would buy it unless they owned DA (or built a custom one)

Maybe LEGO is making a subtle joke of the whole "social distancing" thing.

Well, just got my bookshelf set up, DA is going to look beautiful on it! Only problem is that if I put my other two sets (Tree House and Trafalgar Square) each on a shelf, I can’t wrap their wires in the back to light them up. There won’t be enough room to put them on top with DA so don’t know what I’m going to do there. Oh well.

Building Hedwig and Hogwarts Express tonight :)

Not sure if it's common knowledge, I mighthave missed it among the billion replies since the leak, but someone on IG has pointed out Ollivander in the DA set is different from the GWP after all. Torso looks to be dark red, his face has a slight smile and it kinda seems like they fixed the sideburns and extended them to the hairline.

I see. Not sure if I like it though. I mean I'm all for new facial expressions, but I kinda preferred the more so serious gwp one, which I wasn't able to get my hands on. And there's also the problem of them using the budget to do him again over new prints for some of the other characters.:def_shrug:

I really do wonder what's up with the two gwp's sets and the ps Harry. Things are getting kinda confusing.

My bet of the reveal being last Friday was lost. But I guess I still have my comment of the reveal being like the Pirate Bay, being one week before release. Only thing that can ruin this now is them delaying the set. Don't let me down Lego:excited:

So bets that we will get a teaser Monday with reveal on Tuesday? Can’t believe how many times I have said this lol

Dobby literally only has a different smile in the set he’s in compared to the CMF so there don’t need to be variant according to Lego, plus as I said, she’s as important to her scenes as Umbridge and Slughorn are to their films, the only figure in the BrickTober pack that we’ll never get (imo) is Boggart Snape, bearing in mind the BrickTober pack was messed up release wise due to TRU shutting down so not everyone managed to get it so it’s not unbelievable that Lego would want those who couldn’t get it to still get the characters ??‍♂️

I usually can figure out the acronyms, but what does TRU stand for?

Since we're in the wake of DA's release, I thought I'd share my brick wall MOC I plan on placing with the display. Its very simple, and while I think its good right now, I think I'll rework it to have a technic connection once I have the set

Seams to me a little big for the mini figures. You could try a mechanism to open the wall. There some ideas on the book Build Your One Adventure.

I made it a little oversized as its supposed to be big, and didn't take figure scale into consideration in favor of looks/accuracy. As for the book build, I had built it a while back, but felt it was a little small in scale to what I was looking for.. and the sliding feature dissatisfied me, as it didn't have the shaping I wanted for the open wall.

I do agree, the old head is still good and it would be fine if they reused it, but I also like and appreciate the new one. Ollivander seemed to be genuinely excited to have Harry as a customer (and did show a restrained smile) so the print fits, fixed sideburns are a nice bonus. Not sure if new torso was necessary though, the print is marginally different. If it really is reddish brown like the previous one (there is a chance it's dark red, it's a little different from the twins' suits which are definitely reddish brown) then it was rather pointless.

Probably not an original idea but is anyone else thinking of using the new mosaic frames to display the minifigs? It's not exactly the cheapest option, but I like how customisable they are, you can do 32x32, 48x48, 16x96 and so on. Hopefully their price on BL will drop with time, I don't really want to buy the whole set (read I don't want 3000 studs which I will never use )

I mean, if they leave it any longer they run the risk of regular fans and consumers not even knowing about it before it comes out. It was leaked because some Lego store employee found it in the back room and took pictures. And if there’re already sets in back rooms then the September 1st release date is almost certainly accurate, so the have to announce it before then.

Very true, best way I've seen it put. Man, TLG really likes running down the clock with these HP reveals don't they :iamded_lol:

Just as a little English tidbit, "wake" refers to after an event. It would be more accurate to say we are on the eve of DA's release, just before it's happened. Not trying to criticise, just to help! :D

Pretty good and simple wall, does the job. I'd love to see it with a sliding mechanism or something.

Has anyone tried to make the entrance wall using hinges so if you push on the bricks it starts to fold in?   That would be a cool way to try to do it I think.

Have to see what all I have after I finish sorting the two 10 pound lots I got this week.  So far I've found two old Hogwarts sand green square roof turrets, Prof. McGonagall's green skirt, a couple of Harry wigs, a Dumbledore wig, a Borgin & Burkes sign, Ollivander's sign, 3 or 4 glow in the dark 1x2 tiles, a couple of Gryffindor pennants and I think a wand box 1x2 tile with the sticker.  Also quite a few black & dark green window frames and a couple of black skeleton legs.  Lots of dark blue roof pieces.  I'm hoping to be able to piece together the old Borgin & Burkes and a modified Ollivanders (to represent another shop, maybe an Apothecary) to use with the new DA set.
