They use the CMF budget to create characters that would compliment a COS set, but aren't 100% necessary for the set. I think Lego probably knows the brick built Fawkes in the Great Hall won't cut it for many people, so using the CMF budget is perfect. Sprout compliments the Astronomy Tower set, because it was suggested a greenhouse of sorts is included in that build. Kingsley again goes well with the upcoming Privet Drive set, helping to change the setting from COS to Deathly Hallows. Neville and Luna both go well with current sets and make for interesting figures. A great line up all round.
Tariq j Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Looks like a solid series so far. Finally a Kingsley figure! Nice to see the Magical Creatures book make a come back. Fawkes is a big improvement over the brick built version. Nice to see ghosts are getting more representation. I feel Griphook might’ve worked better as a mould rather than the regular minifigure head.
Huigberts Builds Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Wow, these look amazing. Dare I say it? I think I'm gonna say it. So far this series looks even better than the first one. 1. Harry looks fine. Nothing too special but a nice torso and finally the half blood prince potions book. 2. Neville looks pretty good with that hairpiece. But the best thing is of course the monster book. I guess we now have updated versions of all books+some new ones to replace the generic ones to get a pretty impresive Lego wizarding library (we have charms, care of magical creatures and potions + a diary). 3. Bellatrix looks amazing. Looks like a new hard plastic hairpiece different from the rubbery one we got last time. I think it looks better. Also nice azkaban army builder. Face looks pretty good as well, but I'm still pretty nostalgic for the original face. 4. Kingsley, finally. Also such a useful faceprint. It looks like he has a cloth piece over his body, somewhat similar to the series 5 graduate boy. I assume the broom is because of the battle of the seven potters? 5. Luna looks so cute. Love the lion mask. Made only sense lego made her because they do love their animal costumes. It could kinda be used for a lion king the musical figure, looks pretty similar to their costumes. 6. Moaning Myrtle, at last. Odd how they went for a blueish colour instead of grey like nearly headless nick. But it works surprisingly well. I also like the tear, really gives the character emotion. + a new hairpiece (I think) 7. Griphook indeed looks kinda odd without the nose, but I don't dislike it, it kinda works + the hair is really useful. I guess this way they could reuse the mold for other gringots goblins without them looking all the same. Also really like his torso. 8. Sprout, at last. Hat/hair combo looks fantastic, face is also really well done. So much better than what we got last time. Really curious towards her torso. 1 hour ago, Balrogofmorgoth said: Maybe the mandrake is different because it’s suppose to be a more matured version since they had to wait for the mandrakes to mature before cutting them up for healing purposes. Neville’s is young and Sprout’s is older My thoughts exactly, at least that's were I'm gonna use him for. Kinda like this one better, didn't like the part sticking out of the other one. 9. Dumbledore looks amazing, again just like last time my favourite from the series (so far). I loved the previous one from the great Hall, which was already a huge update, but this is perfection. And the beard is in white, finally, works so much better for this dumbledore. Plus it's very useful. The new hat/hair is also amazing. Best of all is obviously fawkes, didn't expect to see him again anytime soon. That's already 5 figures from my wishlist. Can't wait to see the last 7 if they're just as good as these ones.
Ultron Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 This series looks like another fantastic set of figs! I am a little sad that a chamber of secrets set seems less and less likely now though

While the Hogwarts ghosts are mostly a shade of white (as far as white has shades) Myrtle has a more blue-like color I definetely agree with the people saying Griphook would've looked better with a new headmold but I think they've done him this way so they can reuse the new hairpiece for other Goblins (maybe even in the 'rumored' Diagon Alley D2C)
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 If you don‘t like the new Griphook, I dare you to take a good long look at the old goblins. Case closed
2lazeetomakeaname Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Is it just me or does Kingsleys face look like Hagrids in a different color?
RODDY Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) I’m not gonna go into too much detail because a lot of you guys already have echoed my sentiments, but color me impressed, Lego HP has somehow managed to go beyond and above yet again. And I thought last year was amazing, these minifigs are in a whole new ballgame. I need that Dumbledore and Fawkes ASAP. Also weird that we have both Myrtle and Riddle yet still no Lockhart. Edited March 14, 2020 by RODDY
HalfBloodPrince Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) Well, it seems I was correct. There was no delay. But, how was This Itaria incorrect? Oh and these figures look fantastic, The only one I don’t like is Harry because his face looks weird Edited March 14, 2020 by HalfBloodPrince
Accio Lego Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 This is amazing news to wake up to! So glad the rumors of it being pushed back were wrong. 1. Professor Sprout: the version we deserve after the poor showing back in 2011. Love the new hair/hat combo and while the different mandrake design is odd, I honestly like it better than the last one. 2. Luna Lovegood: this was on my predictions list. We can only see the head and shoulders but it’s already perfect. 3. Harris!Dumbledore 2.0: he’s got FAWKES! and a snazzy new hat/hair combo. I was expecting the requisite Dumbledore of series 2 to be young Dumbledore from CoG, but with FB characters taken out this is an amazing choice. 4. Kingsley: Yes yes yes yes yes 5. Neville Longbottom: I was not expecting to get him in this CMF. But with a new Monster Book of Monsters I’m not going to complain, can’t wait to get a better look at that. 6. Bellatrix Lestrange: predicted here a while ago and here she is - with new hair to boot! I fully expect this to be an excuse to fold the mold budget for that glorious monstrosity of a hair piece into the CMF, and predict we’ll see Bellatrix in her Death Eater outfit attacking the heroes in a set in the near future. 7. Harry Potter: not much to say about him - any Wizarding World Series needs a version of him as main character, and every CMF needs at least a couple of figs with no new molds. Looking forward to getting a full view of the potions book. 8. Moaning Myrtle: been expecting to see her turn up here since the prefect’s bathroom showed up in the Clocktower set. Love the change in color pallets for the ghosts. 9. Griphook: choosing a hair piece over a molded head is interesting, but I can’t say I mind, since we can still tell exactly who this character is and it gives Lego more flexibility in the future. Some pretty nice arm printing visible too. Can’t wait to get a proper look at all of these, and see what else the series has to offer. (Fingers crossed for TONKS!)
lego_guyon02 Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Anyone else feel like they should've replaced Neville with some other student from Hagrid's class (while keeping the MBoM)? I like Neville but with the CMF budget I would've rather gotten a student from a house we don't already have 4 different robes for

Balrogofmorgoth Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 I also wish Griphook came with the sword of Gryffindor. I feel like that was out only chance of getting a new molded version
Darth Shadowthrone Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 So so so exciting! I'm so glad this series looks like it's still coming out this year! As the Harry minifigure is from HPB I definitely think a quidditch Ron minifigure is likely, with a printed quaffle or a snitch mould thrown in just because. Also although that Dumbledore is most accurate to Chamber of Secrets he would really fit with a Privet Drive setup for the opening scene. Hopefully we get a Lego baby Harry at some point although the only figures I think that would fit with would be Lily Potter or Hagrid, who I doubt we can expect from a CMF series. Also with the inclusion of Kingsley I think we can definitely expect Tonks, either in this series or a (completely a guess from me) Ministry Battle set in August. I'm still gonna hold out hope for another exciting magical character like Kreacher, Firenze or Werewolf Lupin for the minifigure series as well. Honestly with how amazing these figures look and the exciting sets lineup Lego are completely spoiling us with this theme and I am so here for it!

I’m hoping Dumbledore, Sprout and possibly Bellatrix do
summicron Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Finally some good news for 2020! - I know he's in everything but I love Harry's new torso. Nice jacket. - Luna looks fun with the lion hat. I'm curious to see her torso design. - Took me a while to realise its Griphook. Yea a moulded head would be better for him. His torso seems nice. - Bellatrix, would prefer her in signature black dress instead of prison attire. Can't wait to know who else will be in this second CMF wave. So much HP stuff to look forward to going into 2020. Thank you Lego HP for making 2020 suck less.
Brickity Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 I find it odd how they made a new hairpiece for Bellatrix, and it looks very very similar. I wonder if they had just trashed the previous mold. Either way, these look amazing! 6 minutes ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: Yeah that sucks, but if the $100 August is the Burrow it could include all three of them. That would probably make this year the best one for HP! It would be, way too good to be true!
Vindicare Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 At first I thought the Mandrake was weird being a different piece, but I was having another look & I bet this is a full grown Mandrake as opposed to the baby one Neville & other students dealt with in class. These all look fantastic. Getting a real Fawkes is amazing. That version of Dumbledore is exciting considering we’re getting Privet Drive. Maybe a McGonagall with cat(although slightly repetitive) is also coming to complete the scene(just need baby Harry!). I will still grumble about paying $5 for these...but it’ll be quieter, because these are worth it.
