Where exactly did you find these?

Hi sorry trying not to come on here now as want to  have the Lego reveal experience they have so obviously worked hard on for us. I found it on the uk Lego website under trending at the bottom of their main Lego shop page. If I can I shall add the link but I’m new to this.

https://www.lego.com/en-gb

I only managed to get low quality photos as my laptop is on the blink, but in case anyone fancied making some extra DA employees, here are the QQS and F&B assistants:

There is also the tall moustachioed man in Chamber of Secrets who may be the F&B manager.

Last but not least, Verity completes the WWW employees.

@chris6507 Thanks so much for posting those! I've decided I'm going to Bricklink a lot of the new set since I have the old Diagon Alley but couldn't remember what was on the sticker sheets. You saved me the trouble of finding them!

what time does the clock show for you right now? mine says 5 days 20 hours 18 minute.

and that can't be right because that would mean they would reveal at 3:00 AM pacific time and 6:00 AM east coast time.

out of curiosity if anyone on the east coast of the USA could answer what time does the clock show for you right now? mine says 5 days 20 hours 18 minute.

It's a universal countdown. It is the exact same time on the countdown here in Australia too. The time is going to end somewhere basically on every hour somewhere in the world. So it will be 8pm in Eastern Australia.

Just thought, if that's the reveal time and it does actually get released first thing on the 1st, then the reveal will only be 4 hours ahead of the release. Only 2 hours if you live in New Zealand.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this, but it looks like the Toy News International article is now gone from their site. I wonder how much trouble they got into with LEGO for posting it early *huh*

I think someone mentioned it here before, but this set would've been such a good way to re-introduce the "sand red" colour for parts - it would've made the top of QQS better and been an improvement for Lockhart.

If they had budget for a new mould, they could have made Lockhart's hairpiece dude...

What's the appeal of an exclusive wand box piece?

More appealing than another hair piece in my mind

Wish Lego gave out sales numbers.

They will never do something that stupid
However if we are lucky we may get the top10 best selling sets next year. I reported the 2018 ones, but unfortunately the inside tours this year was cancelled so do not think we will know the 2019 ones. If we are lucky we may get the 2020 ones next year and will be interesting to see if DA is among them (would not surprise me)

Pardon my ignorance, but what about it is stupid? Sales numbers are common in the video game industry, which is always interesting to see.

In video game industry, every publisher wants to let people see how many sales they have, to entice others to buy.
For Lego, its real competitors are Lepin and all the bootleg brands. Showing sales numbers will just let them target which set to copy.

Yea makes sense. Lego doesn’t really have competition, so there’s really no reason to share that kind of info. Still, would be super interesting to see how different themes perform.

As good as DA is, and it is good, I do have some reservations.

Figures:

Fred and George are perfect. Fortescue is wonderful - two new prints and a hair piece in a new colour! Ginny is good, Molly has the weird hair from the Burrow, but the lack of printing on the skirt is less distracting here. The photographer has a clever recoloured hat, even if it isn't completely accurate, but the black facial hair should be dark grey. Hagrid is a good as ever, but will be my third so not too exciting. Not sure which Ollivander I prefer, but as it's so similar to the GWP version, another not too exciting one.

Lockhart looks great, I'm not sure about the hairstyle (colour is right) and face print though. Looks a little too chiselled. Lucius has a great torso, but the face print is all wrong. My personal preference is tan over BLY as the hair colour for the Malfoy family, luckily Draco' s pieces are available in tan, but for Lucius the closest options are his 2003 or 2010 versions. That's my own personal choice though.

Draco's torso is great, but not accurate to the scene. Hopefully we'll get more Slytherin robes in future, cheaper sets other than the two expensive ones they've appeared in. The trio I'm torn on. On one hand they should be more open and show casual clothes underneath, on the other hand getting another three would cover Fred, George and Percy's outfits from that scene. Costly though.

Arthur Weasley should have been included, even if his hat piece was just a recoloured CMF Wizard/Death Eater.

Accessories:

Ollivanders, Scribbulus and Flourish and Blotts all extend out over the edge of the baseplate, but only F&B and WWW have accessories to occupy the extra space with the desk and love potion stand. Other accessories like bookcases, wand shelves, a desk for the Daily Prophet office, Quidditch Gear, WWW products, table and chairs for the parlour and maybe some bins, boxes or the chestnut roasting machine could go in Knockturn Alley.

Another owl, or perhaps a dark creature to live in KA would be welcome too.

Buildings:

The spiderweb in the DP office seems a bit lazy to be honest, perhaps a chandelier would have been more interesting. Also, as good as WWW is, it seems to be lacking in actual products.

Flourish and Blotts isn't based on either of its appearances, which makes me think it's structure may be based on the second hand bookshop. I haven't had a chance to check that though. Also, Knockturn Alley isn't the alleyway next to WWW, but combining them creatively has worked well.

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm complaining, I'm really excited for this set and look forward to getting it and modding it, and seeing what others do with it. Nitpicks aside I am very impressed. Assuming Gringotts gets a stand alone set, I would love to see a follow up set or sets one day with the Leaky Cauldron, Magical Menagerie, Eeylops Owl Emporium, Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment, Madam Malkins, Potages Cauldron Shop and the Apothecaries in a similar style.

The big problem with your wants...is price. We’d all love to see the trio get the casual clothes under the capes. Or more detailed interiors instead of a spiderweb or more products. But all of that would drive up the cost of an already very expensive set.

Does anyone know why previous Diagon Alley builds didn’t have QQS as a pink building? I think part of the reason everyone was a bit surprised was because until now, QQS has been considered red and gold (look at micro scale DA).

Also, anyone in LA have any luck finding CMF #2?

Months after a botched Technic Lamborghini Sian release;... I think we better get ready for something even bigger than that.  I think it's safe to assume that Harry Potter has a much bigger audience than Technic; thus a much bigger demand for this set.

We better get ready, as in prepared for the disappointment, to not be able to get one for many weeks; especially here in the USA.

But they will get my money, it will be my third HP set;... I will add this one to my collection (some day ?) !!!

Are the D2C sets usually exclusive to the Lego Store or are they ever sold anywhere else?

D2C stands for Direct to Consumer

Sure, but I've never actually seen Lego use this terminology. Most "D2C" sets end up being sold by third party retailers, at least in Sweden where I'm located. I got my microscale Hogwarts more than 100USD cheaper from another retailer.

Sure, but that’s very dependent on which country you’re in. I’ve never seen most D2Cs available anywhere else where I am in the US, and they tend to call certain sets ‘exclusive’ for a reason.
