Just got through with the first building. What a fun build so far, love all the brick bricks! Honestly, I’m really excited to get the winking owl, as I didn’t want any of the City sets it came in. The details are great & Ollivanders is just outstanding.

Now, to wait until tomorrow for the next building. I can do this...I can do this....:look:

Same, I just finished with the first manual. What a fantastic build so far. Very structurally sound too, and really has some weight to it. I absolutely love all the wand boxes, although I wish they came in multiple colors

Is the top floor of Scribbulus supposed to be this set’s version of Borgin and Burke? It has a potion, a skull, a tattered sofa, and empty fireplace.

No it would probably say so in the description I think it is an apparent. In other news my Diagon Alley order has been pushed to the 15th.

Are you already there with building after you just received the set ?... ?

I just got things organized and still have to start the first bag.  But I did look through all four the instruction books for a long time... ?

Kinda makes it hard to stop after the first building...

Just for fun...I added my own brick wall.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking in your great thread for a while now - how creepy does that sound? ?

Just a quick note to say that my DA set was dispatched from S@H last night about 8pm Australian time. Order was placed at 12am 1 Sep, so should start seeing other Aussie orders leaving the warehouse soon.

Hope this info is useful to those suffering through the same wait!

Thanks for that. I think I might have ordered at 12:01 or 12:02 by the time I waited for the GWP to show up and entered my discount codes etc. Hopefully not too much longer! :-D

I finally went to the lego store today to pick up the CMF. I usually take time to feel through the bags, but for obvious reasons I randomly grabbed 16 bags from a row of what looked like a fresh case to test my luck. Turns out I did pretty well, 11 out of 16!

***edit*** my local store still had the Hagrid Brickhead in-stock. The Lego rep tried persuade me to purchase more items to meet the gwp, haha.

It has a sign outside for readings so a tea cup or a crystal ball would have been a better inclusion.

Hopefully they shouldn't take any longer than 3 days. I ordered the Burrow online (as I thought it was a LEGO exclusive), they took over two weeks to send it, but it got here in 2.5 days.

I was so nervous about missing the set that I couldn't wait for the GWP, despite promising myself I would wait, hmm. Order was through at 11:55pm.

Surely not too many orders in those 5 minutes. Fingers crossed for yours to be out very soon.

Will do, Micmac. Delivery estimate is 15 Sep but, just like Chris said, it's usually only a few days.

I miss the old (pre-covid) overnight deliveries. They were awesome!

For the topic of the Bell Towers, personally I’m not too interested in such a set. The architecture of both the Clock Tower and Astronomy Tower is far more interesting and there really isn’t room for it on either the official Lego layout or the StoneWars layout and I’m not going to take out any other additions to make room for it. The interior potential isn’t that great either and I would much rather have a Cos Chamber of Secrets rather than a DH Chamber for obvious reasons. The only way I would buy another Hogwarts extension is if it was a Chamber of Secrets with a Slytherin Common Room, Girls Bathroom and that hall way with the blood or a set from the tasks in PS with the devil snare room and the winged keys. On second thought, it just reminds me how much room they wasted in the Great Hall Tower portion of the set.

I just looked it up, the official Lego layout has the Clock tower behind the Great Hall, the Stonewars one has from left to right Great Hall-Clock Tower-Whomping Willow-Astronomy Tower if I'm looking at the same thing.

First of all, I don't think it matters about official layouts, considering that half the Hogwarts sets in the current layout are being discontinued after Christmas, and RoR isn't in the official layout. Also I can see a potential Bell Tower set fitting behind the Viaduct Entrance/Greenhouse part, with two Bell Towers and a representation of the Long Gallery leading up to the existing part. All the open sided stuff would be on the same side so the display would be constant.

The Bell Towers are the most distinctive towers left, being pretty much identical to the Central Tower and Training Grounds Tower, but as there are two of them it would give more space for play features and details inside. The towers remaining around the Quad are round ones and look more like the Staircase Tower and the one present in the Clock tower set.

Entrance Courtyard and Viaduct, the Boathouse and the Wooden Bridge would be my top picks for Hogwarts areas in the next wave, but as all three have parts below Hogwarts floor lever, I'm not sure if they would be connected to the main structure.

I just came across some interesting news which we must have missed last week in the excitement around the Diagon Alley set’s release. WB has officially confirmed that it will resume filming for Fantastic Beasts 3 next month in the UK and continue through February 2021. As of right now, it doesn’t look they will be filming in Brazil after all.

The film is still slated for a November 12, 2021 release, which means we will almost definitely be getting a few Fantastic Beasts sets as part of next year’s Wizarding World wave.

I’m curious to hear what sets folks think we could be getting. Obviously, we don’t know any details about the movie’s plot, but I could see a set from the last film being included. Maybe the Circus Arcana with the Chinese Zowwu or the LeStrange Mausoleum with the blue fire dragon or the British or French Ministry of Magic?

https://screenrant.com/fantastic-beasts-3-filming-start-date-october/

Love to get more FB sets, the 2 first ones where fantastic!
I hope we get a lot of figs and maybe some new animal moulds in future sets :excited:

Maybe we get a normal 100$ Hogwarts set next year and 1-2 smaller sets to get more of the figs included like ROR this year :shrug_oh_well:
When it comes to HP next year I am most exited to see expansion sets of DA. Gringotts is almost guaranteed, but I would not mind a second set of shops either so Lego reassure us that we will get the hole DA in the years to come  I assume that would benefit the sale of the DA also if people know for sure that it will be new collectible series with yearly sets instead of a standalone set :sweet:

Just got the advent calendar  Out of curiosity: do you shred it to pieces right away or do you wait until December? I was considering the former, but it just feels wrong :laugh_hard: I’ve also never given in to the temptation in the last 9 years

I'm waiting until December to open up the advent calendar.

I'm gonna have to be honest and say that I'm also not all that excited for the Bell Towers. I'm personally planning to tear down all the Hogwarts castle sets once this theme is done so I can build a physical version of how I imagined book-Hogwarts would look like and with the 3 main structures (Great Hall, Clocktower and Astronomy Tower) out of the way most of the castle stuff I want are just figures and rooms (CoS, PS challenges, classrooms etc). That's not to say that I won't be picking up a Bell Towers set if it does come out, I definetely will, but I feel like most of the interesting stuff that hasn't been done yet for the main castle are just interiors. The only thing outside of the main castle I can see them do are the Boathouse, Owlery and some more Forbidden Forest sets.

Did you still get the GWP? I've heard reports either way. I did the same, ordered before the GWP was shown in the cart.

I think I agree. While I’d love more Hogwarts, there’s only so much they can do before it becomes repetitive (and large!). Put it this way - if I had to choose between Bell Towers and a scene within Hogwarts like Chamber of Secrets, or Battle of Hogwarts with a little bit of courtyard or ruined wall or something (actually, a ruined bit of Hogwarts would be awesome!) you know what I’d choose. The Burrow shows that they’re not restricting themselves to Hogwarts - I would enjoy if they moved on to other stuff like Gringotts, Shrieking Shack, Ministry of Magic - especially as going elsewhere becomes more of a focus in later films.

Best case scenario is reserving the bigger sets of the wave for mostly non-Hogwarts sets as there are still plenty of things they could do (Durmstrang ship, Malfoy Manor, Ministry of Magic, Shrieking Shack, Hogsmeade, more DA shops, Gringotts, Grimmauld Place etc). Then just do whatever they want with the small and medium sized sets. And as mentioned dozens of times before it would be fantastic if they at least tried to do some proper battlepacks.

I disagree, the Bell Towers would be a great way to “end” the Hogwarts expansions. Since interior accuracy (in terms of which part ot the castle the rooms are actually located at) is not all that important anyway, they could easily include quite a few missing rooms in here that wouldn’t make much sense as stand-alone sets. And minifig-wise, we could get quite a few characters that are relevant to the Battle of Hogwarts but unlikely to appear elsewhere (e.g. Blaise, Goyle, and Madam Pomfrey).

So want I’d like is basically a remake of 4867 with more details, other rooms and more minifigs

I 100% agree. Would absolutely love a larger more accurate version of 4867. Sounds like not everyone agrees, but it's the last actual segment of the castle I would really like to get. Maybe it's just more important to me as I want to replace my old ones. But yeah, it's on the top of my wishlist. But right up there with it as others have stated are things like Durmstrang Ship, Chamber of Secrets and Gringotts.

Let's just hope it's not a one of the other situation and we get all of them eventually! :-) @Guyon2002, it's amazing just how much more potential there is in this series. Weird thing is that minifigure wise, it feels like we are getting pretty close to a full roster, but locations and sets. Feels like there's a lot more we could see.

Posted (edited)

As much as folks really want another large Hogwarts modular set, the reality of the situation is that (unless something changes) we will only be getting 6-8 sets next year. And two of those sets will probably be for Fantastic Beasts 3. With as many iconic scenes and locations still left to produce, the Bell Towers - which even diehard Harry Potter fans struggle to identify - just doesn’t make sense as a $100+ set. My prediction is that we will get:

- Gringott’s Bank - $100+

- Durmstrang Ship - $99

- Malfoy Manor - $60

- Chamber of Secrets (DH2) - $50

- FB3 Niffler Creature Build - $40

- Viaduct Final Battle - $30

- Forest of Dean - $20

- Small Fantastic Beasts 3 Set - $20

We’re getting incredibly close to a full roster, so close in fact that some of the most desirable minifigs are variants of characters we already have  The list of missing characters has become really short now:

- Crabbe

- Goyle

- Blaise

- Pomfrey

- Karkaroff

- Rita Skeeter

- Aberforth

- random Death Eaters (including Thicknesse, Yaxley etc)

- Scabior and other Snatchers

And that’s basically it. The rest are variants (DH P2 Sprout, OotP Tonks & Sirius, other Lockhart costumes, Task 2 costumes etc.)

That's a pretty solid list, I'd love to see that! But if there are only 2 FB sets I feel like we're more likely to get 1 CoG and 1 FB3 set just like they did back in 2018

I'm pretty easy going, i'm happy with anything new and exciting. I'm in no way predicting we will be getting bell towers next year, just saying that I would like it if we did. I can't speak for others, and I am in no way a particularly die hard potter fan, but i've always been very familiar with the Bell Towers, even moreso than the Astronomy Tower to be honest, but that may be due to the fact that I owned the old LEGO Bell Towers long before I got more acquainted with the structure of Hogwarts (which has only been since the new wave has been released). But it does make me think though, that if they managed to be made in the previous wave where the Astronomy Tower was not, i don't see why they couldn't get a reincarnation in this series.

Basically I just haven't written them off and would love them if they happen, but will love whatever else we get instead if we don't! :-D

Question on your list, what are you picturing when you say the Malfoy Manor? Just curious as to a rough idea of what you think this set could look like/incorporate.
