Lion King Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Just wondering - are we going to get Gringotts Bank set next year (2021)?

Thanks. I saw the menton of that bank somewhere online. I can’t remember but i was not sure if it’s just fan-made. Again, thank you.

While I think it is likely that we get sets from FB1 and/or FB2 if we get sets from FB3 in a wave, it is not so likely that they were planing to give us only sets from 1-2 in connection with film 3 (even if making sets for new films is a hassle with the limited info they get) We will see when film 3 comes out one day, but I am not giving up hope yet that we will see more FB sets in the future
lego_guyon02 Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 It's also worth considering that LEGO is probably contractually obligated to make sets for FB3

At least that’s what I hope

At least that’s what I hope I personally hope we'll get more than 1 set but truth be told that's only because I'd love to get more beasts! I'd also like some more characters ofc but the beasts are more exciting

While I like the FB films, I have to admit that a lot of the side characters are pretty bland when compared to the side characters in the HP films. Just compare Grindelwald’s companions with Voldy’s Death Eaters for instance, they’re miles apart. Even someone like Thicknesse is more memorable than 90% of Grindy’s lackeys (that death scene is still hilarious) I appreciate the main characters, but the rest are easily outshined by the titular beasts. It’s just sad they’re a bit sidetracked in CoG. The zouwu was amazing and would have made for a great set, but that’s pretty much it (apart from the glory that is Newt’s niffler, of course). I hope the beasts have more of an impact in FB3 and the tie-in sets as well, should we be graced with some

Since they did nighter they lost the license So maybe Lego and WB has a deal that at least some sets should be made for every film

Because that’s all CoG ever got Well, I think we can still expect one FB set next year despite FB3 being banished to 2022, namely a niffler in the same style as this year’s Hedwig, as plenty of people have already suggested. I don’t think Hedwig’s supposed to be a one-off thing, and a niffler would be the obvious choice for a second beast. Unless it sold so terribly they killed the idea on the spot, which I doubt

Lion King Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 It looks like Fantastic Beasts 3 is delayed to summer 2022. So I dont’ think there will be any Fantast9c Beasts-related sets until 2022? Unless there would be sets that focus on first two movies of Fantastic Beasts series. I guess we will wait and see.
Huigberts Builds Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Tbh wasn't it already long rumored that fb3 was going to be delayed until 2022? I mean there was the entire thing with Ezra Miller wanting to do The Flash first and then there was the pandemic. I highly doubt fb3 was part of that leaked list. Sure they might've started designing some stuff already but that's probably all. That being said I'm really happy with the cheap ways to get Lucius and Quidditch Cedric. Also a bit late but the new Flitwick's use of the dwarf beard is exactly what I hoped for. Just need a piece that I can use for the hat. I think if we ever get the "fez" piece in some new colours that might do the trick.

It wasn't a proper rumor but anyone who really believed the film to still come out in 2021 was fooling themselves, that much was obvious
BrickBob Studpants Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 There weren't any rumours AFAIK, I just remember everyone wondering why FB3 kept its 2021 release date while Dune and The Batman were both postponed. Of course nobody really expected it to stay, but it's still weird they waited this long for the announcement. Or maybe they thought they could actually do it, before Depp dropped out

It's hard to not see mannerisms of Thor in any other Chris Hemsworth character, or Ironman in any other RDJ role, or Russel Crowe in any other role since Gladiator. He's a considerably better actor than Jude Law's wooden acting, if you can even call it that. Depp plays roles extremely well. His problem is he played Jack Sparrow far too well and people pick up on every part of his acting that carries over from that. People have different acting styles, it is extremely rare for someone to be soooo successful at one specific acting role and not see some of those mannerisms in other roles. Depp was good at Grindelwald, he fitted the character nicely. But it'll be interesting to see how well the next person plays the role, and if they make it their own or if it strays too far from what we expect it to be played like, or if they stray too far and it ends up being better than expected. Will just have to wait and see. That may be true for you, for me it isn't. I never think "Oh, that's Tom Hardy!" (just to give one example). Some people, to me, are just much better at transforming their whole appearance than others. But yes, we'll wait and see. Edit: Oh well, wait and see in 2022! Edited November 10, 2020 by Mariella

But the delay was official a few days after Johnny Depp resigned as Gellert Grinlewald.
BrickBob Studpants Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 Mads Mikkelsen apparently really is in talks with WB to replace Depp I should‘ve bet money on that

THELEGOBATMAN Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 You can say whatever you want about WB, but this is a pretty damn good recast. I hope this time Lego will do Grindelwald justice instead of this awful minifigure we got (CMF one was good tho, except the hairpiece).
Robert8 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 This means the Depp Grindewald minifigure will be the only one ever based on his appearance The price will go up for sure
