I'm nervous, as we haven't heard anything for the summer, and if there were sets coming out, we would have heard rumors by now. First of all, have you been living under a rock? There are 3 more Batman sets and we have build and minifigure details for all of them. Second, do you realise how incredibly unrealistic your sets are?
Anonknee Muss Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 This theme is NOT dying. Let’s stay positive, mkay?

Maybe this is a sign that this theme will be ending soon. There are 3 sets we know the figures for and even a figure of Harley Quinn from the middle sized set

And as for my own set ideas, those are just my ideas. Unrealistic? Maybe, but if they were to end it in 2022, that is how I would want them to do it.
lego_guyon02 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Looks like LEGO isn't happy about the WW84 set leaking
Captain Nemo Posted April 8, 2020 Author Posted April 8, 2020 That’s more to do with Warner Brothers issuing take downs on anything WW1984 related. This is not the first time they have freaked out about Wonder Woman stuff like posters and mugs. Granted that stuff wasn’t already for sale apparently!

Let’s stay positive, mkay? If the theme wasn’t dying, why is there only 3 sets releasing this summer which are batman related vehicles only and why (last time i Checked in January) is my Target lego section is full of batman summer 2019 sets? The theme didn’t even get a mention on the Best selling themes of 2019. Edited April 8, 2020 by HalfBloodPrince

As long as Batman doesn't die and keeps pumping out new stories this theme will go on and looking at the comics that will not happen anytime soon because his plotarmor is ridiculous

And if the theme is dying why would they go to so much effort to produce an entire CMF series with several new molds? Wonder Woman’s hair does look awkward coming out of the helmet, but it also looks super awkward in the movie itself. For the minifigure I wish they would’ve made the hair sit flat against the wings instead of flowing out, more like Luna’s hair from HP which has that space built in for the satchel/scabbard piece.

I said batman is starting not to sell because last time I checked, my target is full of the summer 2019 batman sets. If the theme isn't dying, why has the only sets been Batman for the last 3 years, you absolute idiot?

Just because something doesn’t sell at your Target doesn’t mean it doesn’t sell anywhere else, believe it or not. And last I checked, we got Justice League sets in 2018 with Killer Frost, Reverse Flash, etc. Cheetah’s hair seems to be Proxima Midnight’s hair piece with the horns removed! We have only gotten Batman sets since Summer 2018 meaning almost 3 years. Last I checked, it’s not just my target. There are multiple stores that I’ve been to where not a single set is out of stock.

I don’t think any of us can speak for how well a set/theme sells as we only have local information.

There aren't any more DC sets until summer, so those would be the only DC sets available right now Also if a shop sells enough of a set in one day, they usually tend to put more of that set out on the shelves. It's called restocking. And even if Target doesn't sell loads of them, other shops, like toy stores definitely do. So just because one shop you visit has plenty of sets, doesn't mean they don't sell
Mandalorianknight Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 4 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: You know that themes that aren't in the best selling themes of the year can still perform good, right? Exactly, and just look at the amount of themes lego has. Sure, some are one-offs, but there's so many ongoing themes that aren't the best selling themes of the year. 2 hours ago, HalfBloodPrince said: I said batman is starting not to sell because last time I checked, my target is full of the summer 2019 batman sets. If the theme isn't dying, why has the only sets been Batman for the last 3 years, you absolute idiot? One target isn't really close to definitive proof of the theme dying. And batman sells, so he gets the most sets (although batman sets aren't the "only" DC sets of the past few years.) And not to minimod, but you should probably refrain from calling people "absolute idiots" because you disagree with them. 1 hour ago, HalfBloodPrince said: You mean early 2018? HalfBloodPrince Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Their has only been batman sets since summer 2018, the theme doesen’t sell. IF IT DID, there would be more sets then just ugly batman vehicles. No one at the stores I go to buy the Batman stuff, just like what happened with nexo knights and Bionicle G2. The DC theme is slowly dying. 1 hour ago, BigGuy4U said: Ah yes, the good old "well the store that I go to has a bunch of this, so it must not sell at all!"... I reckon the D2C and the minifigure series would like to have a word. This has been discussed before without anyone being insulted. DC sets seem to be cyclical in that Justice League sets come out every three years. Unless you have traveled the globe recently on a toy shop/superstore sales data accumulation exercise, I’m going to go ahead and say that your opinion is based on speculation alone. If DC had a raft of insanely popular movies to back it up then it would be on the best seller list. This is all arbitrary anyway. It wasn’t that many years ago when Marvel was on the brink of folding. Now we’re at a point where the two companies will likely have to prop each other up in order to make it through this horrendous time. The staff on both sides are lobbying for a company crossover to boost sales and give their fans a glimmer of hope. There’s a lot of negative out there, you need to try and hang on to some positive otherwise this is going to be a long ride. Take care.
