Noobmaster69 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 So agents of sword is basically confirmed and it’s staring Samuel L Jackson but that’s not until the future so we might get a LEGO quake in four years

TOTDForever Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I wonder when the Spider-Man 3 sets will come out next year since it has a December release now. We only know about the marvel sets up until March so anything is possible. I'm thinking August/September/October
lego_guyon02 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Itaria (the most reliable CMF leaker we have) recently stated that the third 2021 CMF to be released in september is a license LEGO owns but hasn't made a CMF for yet. So I did some digging. Current licenses LEGO has: - DC - Disney - Harry Potter - Jurassic World - Super Mario - Marvel - Minecraft - Minions - Overwatch - Star Wars - Stranger Things - Trolls - Toy Story First we can cross off all the licenses that already have 1 or more CMFs, which leaves us with: - Jurassic World - Super Mario - Marvel - Minecraft - Minions - Overwatch - Star Wars - Stranger Things - Trolls - Toy Story Then we can cross off themes that haven't had new stuff in ages or performed poorly, leaving us with: - Jurassic World - Super Mario - Marvel - Minecraft - Star Wars We can cross off SW because LEGO simply can't make one which leaves us with: - Jurassic World - Super Mario - Marvel - Minecraft So with these 4 left I'd say Marvel is the most likely. Jurassic has the issue of dinosaurs and on top of that it wouldn't make much sense to release a CMF a good 3 months after the release of Jurassic World: Dominion. Super Mario could work but I think LEGO will want to stick with their current system for a while before comitting to minifigures. Minecraft could work but I find it unlikely. So my conclusion would be Marvel.

If this is the case i really hope they won’t give us rehashes of all those characters we are getting over and over and over and over... But i hope it will be a SW Cantina CMF :-)

Also, you can probably eliminate Toy Story right away since there were Toy Story characters included in the first Disney CMF. Another possible license is Universal Monsters, which they recently acquired based on the Brickheadz Frankenstein. September would be a good time to release a CMF based on that for obvious reasons.

Marvel is definitely the most likely so get ready for 5 Iron Mans, 3 Captain Americas, a Black Widow and maybe 2 completely new characters... Even if it is a Marvel cmf I'm keeping my expectations low given how woefully inadequate this theme tends to be.

Anyway, if they're doing a licensed CMF and it was between Star Wars or Marvel I'd be confident in saying that Lego would pick Star Wars.

jonwil Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I hope they do do a Marvel CMF and they include characters we haven't seen before (or haven't seen much of) rather than filling half the series up with Iron Man suits or something.

Actually I wouldn’t mind if it was iron man suits but I think they should add more also definitely a Stan lee

I 100% agree. I'm so sick Ironman at this point. A couple unique suites would be fine but most of the figures should be characters we've never gotten minifigs of. I for one would love a Cosmic Ghost Rider with a baby Thanos.
jonwil Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I wouldn't mind if they put a Hawkeye in the CMF though, that's one character I still haven't been able to get (seems to be in fewer sets than characters like Iron Man for some reason) Fantastic Four would obviously be amazing. Or maybe some X-Men characters we haven't seen before like Professor X or Gambit.
lego_guyon02 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 If we get a Marvel CMF I'd expect it to be based on the MCU (no need to discuss this again, we know everyone feels differently about this) but regardless of wether it's MCU or comics we're pretty much guaranteed to get the Trinity, which leaves only 9 figures.

Who exactly are the Trinity in Marvel though? Iron Man, Spider-Man and Cap? I mean it‘s obvious which heroes make up DC‘s Trinity, but I think it‘s up for debate in Marvel‘s case. Iron Man for example wasn‘t even an A-lister before the MCU

But to your point, in a looser sense, I'm not even sure Cap would make the general Marvel (most popular) trinity - maybe Spider-Man, Wolverine and Iron Man (or even/previously Hulk). I'd love to see it in whatever form it takes. Even if we don't love all the picks (presuming this does happen) there will probably be at least one or two figures we each appreciate.
