I think you're exaggerating my statements. Yes, I did adjust my opinion because I was getting countered and to make my statement more viable in the forum. I said the villains in the spider-man set looked great because Mysterio has his drones and the doc ock looks great and I don't have a doc ock and I'll be happy to get it.

On, the other hand, the Ghost Rider hell charger set is making me more excited than I have ever been for any release. All three of the figures will be the first ones I have gotten of the variants and the concept of a flaming muscle car has gotten me to make a google drawing of it.

Haha it's still better than nothing. Lego needs to start making some Deadpool merchandise or they're missing out big time. Hasbro has an adult line and it didn't affect their public image with children and parents. Lego should not be afraid of parents getting angry of them making 18+ products in their 18+ line.

Well when it comes to Marvel there's a lot of things they should be doing but don't

Does anyone know if we will ever be able to get X-Men and F4 sets? Are those completely put of the picture?

I think it’s annoying to bring up so much negativity but also unproductive to not criticize a wave. I’ll try to make this short cause I basically ranted about this to the DC forum. A lack of structures is annoying to me, but if we have to get vehicles I think I would appreciate the vehicles making sense. The Ghost Rider car makes sense but would have been more exciting if the villain was new. Lizard or King Pin or even shocker. Spiderman should not be the side superhero especially if he is the focus of the rest of the wave. I guess kids wouldn’t buy a set with Punisher and Ghost Rider or Daredevil and Ghost Rider but I certainly would. The monster truck is where lego starts to lose me. Not only is the set pointless but I have every character in a better variant already.

Lego would do good to replace these mechs with battle packs, really start to amp up the amount of new figures we get and focus on more structures for this theme. Electra, Punisher, DareDevil, Moon Knight, Cloak & Dagger, Spiderwoman (with dual molded legs this time and higher quality please do not give us an SDCC figure in lower quality like we got with Green Arrow). There are still new characters I think can be reasonably released. The X-Men and the Fantastic Four would also take all my money no matter how crappy the build was but I reckon that can’t happen bc of licensing issues. But if Lego give us the same characters bc its safe then we should remember that the MCU made plenty of characters household names and I reason that a comic based guardians wave or comic based Thor sets would still sell. A comic based Asgard D2C accompanying a wave of comic based Thor sets would be so colorful and exciting. And the property is one most audiences are already familiar with. Unlike DC who’s movies mostly tanked and doesn’t maintain a strong animated presence anymore, Marvels properties have really taken a household status and I personally see no excuse to constantly focus on Spiderman. And even still, Rhino has yet to be made a big figure, Lizard as well, we have yet to see a Gwen Stacy figure and Mary Jane can still be made in many ways. If we’re to focus on one thing can we at least spice that up? The same over at DC. They only focus on one property and its so narrow the direction of both themes. Over there its different bc of DC’s inability to market themselves to newer audiences. But over here I feel like we have more to see and audiences are very comfortable with a lot of source material at Marvel. If anything Lego should feel more risky with who we get in this theme.

Finally I would like to say I am deeply interested in the point of view kids have on this theme. If I was able to I would have collected Lego my entire life and if I was 12 I know I would still have disliked this wave and sought no interest in purchasing it. My mentality has always been to avoid purchasing sets if I already had the figures and didn’t need the build. This is applicable to every set this wave. I reason at least some kids out there feel like Lego could do more with this theme.

Again, Marvel and DC are some of Lego’s strongest licenses and if handled properly could be some of its best themes. There’s a lot of directions this theme could take but oversimplified builds centered on a cast we already have neither introducing mew characters nor builds that actually relate to the comics leads to waves that feel like missed opportunities. Lego Marvel can do so much better and fans know enough of these characters that I think making comic based waves at the quality of themes like Overwatch and Harry Potter (model themes imo thats why I constantly use them as examples) would sell like hotcakes.

It's always possible, and we have had a few X-Men sets before, but I wouldn't expect any until they make their MCU debut.

I haven’t got to say what I think about the sets because there’s been a lot of conversations but here I go

the 4+ are ok I mean there 4+ sets I don’t expect a lot from them but I did wish that we would of gotten a pink blast piece that was shown in the leaked photos but whatever. I don’t think ill pick these up.

the ghost rider set is pretty cool I’m more ok with the stud shooter then I though I would. I mean they need to add a play feature and stud shooter are the most logical. The minifigures are nice I’m used to the ghost rider now I don’t have carnage yet so that’s nice I really haven’t gotten a spider man set in years because of the quality but I will probably get this one. I also only have the old spider man so it will be nice to get them i will probably g we this set.

the spider hideout  is ok the suits look cool I wish I didn't come with venom since he’s been in so many sets but whatever. I understand why the basket ball hoop and skateboard  ramp are there. Goblins fine guess.

the monster truck is not good but the minifigures are nice so I will probably get the set

the mechs are ok I like the cap and miles one but I’ll probably get all three even though the Thor one sucks

The rumors said it is based on Venom 2? I’m taking it with a grain of salt but wouldn’t it be amazing to get a Venom 2 set?

no leaks said it I'm pretty sure, I'm just saying it would be a cool tie in

I vaguely remember a source saying it was based on Venom 2. And anyway, if LEGO is making Marvel busts/helmets it makes absolutely no sense to do Carnage this early if there's no movie involved.

Yeah I just checked, and they did say it was based on Venom 2. To quite the brickfanatics article:

"rumours continue to point to a LEGO Marvel Carnage bust inspired by the film."

Let's hope that this rumor is true

true, and if it is based on the movie it'll be a buy for me. Maybe it'll include 1 minfig version of Carnage

The iron man bust didn't come with an iron man figure.

Yeah... I really think these helmets should include minifigs, but I'd be happy with anything Lego does for Venom 2 lol. We need some non-MCU movie sets

I have no interest in these helmet sets so I for one am very happy they don't have figures

So would you guys say the Miles mech has that exaggerated swagger of a black teen? :laugh_hard:

For those who don't get it, watch Gamespot's review of SM: Miles Morales

I'm glad I waited for a cheaper set to get the sand piece for Sandman but I can't tell - is that the Spider-buggy?! If so- that's almost as iconic as the Thanos-copter. :laugh_hard:

I love the smoke for Mysterio. I hope they give that poor guy some arm printing someday.

Not really, looks more like an ATV than a Buggy, I guess you can consider it being it, even if it doesn´t look like it.

Really wonder why LEGO neglects to do one of the few vehicles Spidey has (the 2019 4+ and the Venom Crawler Car don´t count...)

I just did a quick search and it turns out that spiderman does have a web-jet and a spider-cycle, so lego is at least doing things that are in some source materials. Doesn't give an excuse for them to keep throwing the same recycled vehicles though.

They may exist but LEGO's designs are still made-up, they didn't base them on the comics or anything.

Heads up to anyone in America, Kohl's has some Black Friday deals going on rn. The Endgame Rescue and Professor Hulk set is on sale from $60 to $42 and the FFH Stark Plane set is down from $70 to $49. This is the lowest I've seen these sets go and they are pretty much the prices they should have been in the beginning imo.

according to Paul sealy on Instagram, there are 2 more superhero sets coming out in April of next year. No specific theme (Dc/Marvel) has been assigned to them as of yet (meaning we don't know which on they are). What are your guys' thoughts on what they could be?

They could be literally anything but I hope they're WandaVision related

Me too. A WandaVision set would be fantastic. The other one may be a Shang-Chi or Falcon and Winter Soldier set. I also would not be surprised if they made another Black Widow set with Snow Suit Widow and Red Guardian with helmet
