AFOLS make up the vast majority of the people on lego ideas, so although there might be demand among 10,000 AFOLS on lego ideas, it doesn't have any indication about whether or not children, the target audience and vast majority of LEGO consumers, would want it. Same thing here. Besides Deadpool and wolverine, even, (and like you say the mutants the MCU uses like scarlet witch and quicksilver), none of the other characters are really as popular as the MCU characters anymore, especially among children. I'm a young teenager. 14 to be exact. I guess I will qualify as "children". I personally only like Lego sets based on movies or TV shows. An x-men wave would be cool as long as it has a movie that it's based on. For example, a Logan movie Lego set. Other than that, I wouldn't like it. However, I would throw money at Lego if they would make an X-men mansion set. That would be cool. But it would have to at least be 1,000 pieces, maybe more for it to be fully interesting. Like the Doctor Strange Sanctum Sanctorum Battle set, but bigger. I personally like a scarlet witch (But mostly because she is in the MCU).

WHAT? Lets not forget that Disney has recently allowed Deapool to appear in Fortnite which is played by a lot of kids. I think this is Disney's way of introducing Deapool to kids ready for when he joins the MCU and all the merchandise that comes with that. Deadpool is cash cow and Disney are going to milk that, thats why they are introducing him to kids now so that parents will be ready for when he joins the MCU and all the merchandise. So i think we will see Deadpool in a lego set in the future. It might not be based on his films if his films are still rated R but definitely in other sets. When he appears in other MCU films he will be PG-13 with potentially his solo films remaining R. Edited April 14, 2020 by JediJosh

Ryan Reynolds has already had meetings with Marvel and Kevin Feige about Deadpool 3 and how Deadpool is going to fit in with the MCU. They know how much money Deadpool makes so they are not going to want him to stay away from the big screen for too long, especially now he can have other Marvel superheroes appear in his films. I don't know, I haven't played fortnite but I think it's rated teen, and kids just play it anyway, whereas lego sets are explicitly for children most of the time. Also deadpool's been in lego games and all sorts of games for forever, It's moreso a physical set with deadpool in it that's the problem. 1 hour ago, gryffindorbrickkid said: The main classic comic figures we need are Scarlet Witch and Hawkeye A classic hawkeye would be cool, but I'm not sure we'd get a classic scarlet witch, given the costume. JediJosh Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) The thing is with Deadpool there is nothing to worry about. It's only his live action films that had made him an R rated character so if parents don't want to show there kids the films they don't have to. they don't even have to buy the sets. But the thing is Deadpool doesn't have to be an R rated character most of the things he has appeared in since he was created haven't been rated R. Most comics he has appeared aren't rated R, the same goes with games and cartoons. The problem is with parents who think just because he is in R rated films thats he can't be appropriate for kids which isn't true. At the end of the day I don't see a problem with Deadpool appearing in a lego set, at the end of the day it's just a toy. The Joker still appears in Lego sets and he just had an R rated film about him. Just because one version is R rated doesn't mean every version is R rated. Edited April 14, 2020 by JediJosh

I think the main problem with Deathstro- I mean, Deadpool, is that the majority of kids probably don't read comics, but just watch movies. Lego doesn't want to promote an R rated movie, hence why we will probably never get Phoenix Joker figure.

Same can be said with deadpool we don't need a film version but could get a comic version of him. Just because 1 version is R rated doesn't mean they all are. Plus there are lego sets that are rated 16+ there's no reason a deadpool figure can't appear in one of them sets There's also nothing stopping Disney from making a PG Deadpool film as well as an R rated one. The thing is Disney know Deadpool will make a lot of money so like it or not her is going to be appearing in more stuff over the coming years and that means merchandise. Disney are going to focus on making money more than are about concerned parents. Besides how many parents are going to be that bothered if a lego Deadpool appears in a set. At the end of the day it's a small plastic toy. Disney could make an animated Deadpool TV show for Disney plus thats aimed for kids and that could get a lego set. The possibilities are endless, and that's what I'm trying to say. Edited April 14, 2020 by JediJosh

Yes, he appeared in a set before, but just like the TV-PG show appearence, it was Before the R-rated film causing most parents to see deadpool as vulgar. The fact is they cancelled a set because of the film. And the reason they're having all these talks about how to bring deadpool into the MCU is because they can't just plop him in like they would any other character, given the family friendly image the mouse house strives so hard to keep. Having an image of him on a website is a far cry from him having a figure in a children's toy. And I think you're missing the point here with that "disney can do whatever they want with him whether you like it or not". I want him to be in a set, it certainly sounds like you really want him in a set as well. but disney and Lego don't. But as I said, this is getting off topic. I want him to be in a set yes your right but what your missing is Disney have said they have no problem managing Deadpool as long as they let the audience know whats coming. He could have cameos or appear in other MCU films which are PG meaning they could have him appear in them sets. Like wise Disney could make him fully PG and never make an R rated film about him again. Deadpool doesn't need to be R rated to be funny- the games, comics, and other mediums have proved this. He was never made to be R rated. I'm not saying it will happen next year but in a few years time when Deadpool does join the MCU as its looking likely he will be the first Fox character to show up in the MCU, who know what the situation with Lego is going to be. I'm sure Disney have got a plan of how they are going to market him. The SDCC figures came out after the film. Yes I know they are rare and feature him in an outfit but he's still Deadpool. I think we can't say he is never going to appear in a set because i think that when he enters the MCU he will. right now its unlikely yes but in 3 years from now who knows. Disney are going to want to make money off him and merchandise brings in a lot of money for the house of mouse. Edited April 14, 2020 by JediJosh

lego_guyon02 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Deadpool isn't coming in a set any time soon, deal with it. Besides him being particularly well known for violence from the movies he's done some pretty weird and child-unfriendly stuff in a ton of his comics. Sure not all the material he's in is like that but most of it is, it's kinda Deadpools thing. Do we really think LEGO will consider putting another Deadpool in a set aimed at children (SDCC is aimed at collectors) while the character: - Chops of limbs everywhere - Swears a lot - Killed the entire Marvel universe - Used his own daughter as bait - Lit an elephant on fire while it was alive as a joke - Killed his own parents - Makes fun of suicidal people - Killed Beast and wore his fur as a coat - Shot Spider-Man in the head at pointblank range - Shoots innocent people because he feels like it - Forced vegetarians to eat meat The list of bad stuff he's done goes on and on and on. Before his movie appearances he wasn't as well known so these events were pretty easy to fall under the radar. But no way in hell a random parent would give their kid a Deadpool set knowing what might show up if that kid googles who he is and what he has done over the years.
