turk187 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Is this even for real? Are we actually getting Minions Lego? Quote

Yes it's real, and will have 5-6 sets maybe more. https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Minions-The-Rise-of-Gru Some info I found here : https://www.stonewars.de/lego-2020/#lego-minions-2020 It also says May 2020 release date, while movie launches in July. Brickset also lists a 75548 75546 4+ 19,99€ 87 pieces 75547 4+ 29,99€ 199 pieces 75549 19,99€ 136 pieces 75550 39,99€ 310 pieces 75551 Buildable Figures of Kevin, Bob and Stuart (3-in-1) 49,99€ 876 pieces I assume the 75551 is brick-built big fig like they did with the Star Wars Porg in 2018 and 3-in-1 meaning build 1 at a time, but parts to change between those 3 characters. MatthewRC Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I wonder if LEGO will expand to the rest of the Despicable Me franchise? Quote
Vindicare Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 I’d consider getting a Minion if he were Porg size, sounds pretty cool. Artoo & Wall-E, along with the Porg, could use another buddy. Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) So anyone following the Harry Potter knows about the video of a German YouTuber who went to the toy fair. My German is terrible, but I could kinda make out his description of the minions. The head is (similar as) the R2 head piece and the arms are like those of the Angry Birds pigs. It's not a lot to go on, but it's something. Edited February 1, 2020 by Huigberts Builds Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Ow, so Gru is still a kid in this one? That might ruin the figure potential. Quote
TOTDForever Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I'm hoping this wave has very fun vehicles and figures Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 https://www.promobricks.de/lego-minions-neuheiten-spielwarenmesse/94169/ I like the sound of the bike, temple, and robot Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Hmmm, anyone here think the '70s setting and vibe this sequel's going with could bring us something useful to the table? Quote

I hope so, it could be quite unique. But it's not going to happen looking at the list. Quote
Canada Eh Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Will we see pics released after NYC toy fair next week? Quote
Darth Shadowthrone Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 8 hours ago, Canada Eh said: Will we see pics released after NYC toy fair next week? I read somewhere else on here that the sets shown at NYC will only be 1HY, from the first half of the year, but I don't know if that goes up to April or May. I doubt the sets will be very spoilery so they might be shown earlier Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I‘m under the impression that 1HY includes May, so the sets could indeed be on display Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 The big day is here, all the sets have been revealed! https://www.promobricks.de/lego-minions-setbilder/95268/ A lot of these sets feel overpriced to me, I already didn’t care much for the theme, now even less so. I do like how they designed the mini figs though, the printed tiles for eyes are a clever use of normal LEGO parts and allows for more expression. Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 I kinda like these sets. Def picking up one or two of these Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Grew's lair and the motorcycle are gonna be the 2 I'll pick up. I'll have every character with the two sets. It surprises me how the dental braces minion doesn't even have them. Grew looks rather dump without his nose but I didn't expect anything different. I wished Lego would make specialised head pieces again. Oh well. At least young Grew wears the same outfit as adult Grew so I can just remove the hair to make him accurate to the original movies. Still I think the Chinese temple and the robots are the best looking sets, but if I wanted a Chinese temple I'll just buy the normal one and I'm not that into minions to buy a 50 Euro(?) set. Quote

Couldn‘t agree more, they did a splendid job with the minifigs I don‘t really care about the franchise, but these are definitely worth picking up! Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Just saw an image of The inside of the buildable minions, it’s ten times cooler now! I mean, still absolutely hate the yellow things, but I can admire the builds here, that set is Definitely the best of the bunch. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Ha these dont look half bad. I have to eat my own words here. Quote
TeriXeri Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 (edited) Kung Fu Battle structure sure looks nice. Also looks like a new mould for those arms, with actual rotating hands. Similar arms were first introduced with Nexo Knights in 2017 (and maybe more known via TLM2 Ice Cream Cone) but had no rotating hands. Otherwise, personally not very interested in the actual Minions side of things. Edited February 21, 2020 by TeriXeri Quote
sunhuntin Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Love the minifigs, they did a splendid job, and the buildable Minions are impressive. Will be hard to resist these... have to watch a few reviews to see if the sets are also as good in the flesh [prints as opposed to stickers, etc] or just grab the minis like Huigbert's said. Quote
