Brainbox Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I've seen it and I liked it. Since I normally don't like Superman this is remarkable! In that case, I'll have to give it a go. That and DC: The New Frontier. Oh, and Gotham Knight. Heh, that doesn't even make sense, especially considering that I remember reading somewhere that Batman himself called himself that. Yep, quite correct. He did just that. But I think you missed my point - I was saying that people could use the same logic used on this comic and apply it to Batman and Robin - "it's so bad that it's good" - but no one ever seems too. Ah, I see. Let's be honest though, there's not much chance of that because B&R is 'so bad it's bad'. Plus, Alec Baldwin (Jayne) from Firefly voices Supes, so that boosts the film by about 27% right? I, um, haven't seen this either... Good idea, I prefer brown hair myself, there are already way too many black haired characters in Batman, I don't think the writers realise that there isn't exactly a majority of them compared to brunettes and blondes. That's a good point actually. All the current Bat-family have black hair don't they? But Matches has had both brown and black hair, so I'll do both. That would be......interesting We could call it 'Return to the BatbrickCave: The Misadventures of Batbrick and Brainbox'. Then do a gritty, out-of-continuity version called 'All-Star Batbrick and Brainbox the Boy Pun-der'. We also seem to go out of control on other threads, I've had to move conversations to here from Agents, History and Space threads! *ahem* The Adam West series wasn't bad, it was great and cheesy. Plus it was what introduced me to Batman. I remember watching the film when I was younger, and for me it was Batman. Then a good few years later I went to the library and found they had a new graphic novel section (they only had a few at the time), and picked up JLA: Terror Incognita (I think) because it had Bats in it. And look at me now, a fully-fledged comic geek. Mr Freeze in B&R spouting "Ice to see you!" every five seconds, is not hilarious The worrying thing is, if I'd have said it, it would have been. I remember that "The Batman" also had a horible Mr Freeze - the design was amazing, but he spat out so many horrible puns that his evil voice acting just made him laughable. Have you come across any of the 60s Freeze's? George Sanders, Otto Preminger and Eli Wallach. Preminger had a ridiculous accent, and sported some equally ridiculous bright orange eyebrows... Speaking of, I've managed to watch a slew of BYAS episode recently. It's Never Too Late was suitably different to be good, while I've Got Batman In My Basement was suitably different to be bad. It was improved slightly by the inclusion of the Penguin, but it was all too 'typical Home Alone/kids save the day' for my liking. And you know when the mum thinks her kid and his friend have wrecked the house? She's shocked right? Well, why does she calm down when she discovers that they haven't wrecked the house because it was actually a supervillain, but it's all okay because the kids are hiding Batman IN HER BASEMENT!? Heart of Ice was sheer brilliance. Freeze is written with just the right mix of sympathy and coldness. His voice is superb, so monotonous and emotionless, which only makes his obvious sadness all the more chilling (oh look, I've done it now). And the bit when he uses the fire hydrant to get into Gothcorp? Fantastic. And surely it's not a coincidence that Freeze's nemesis is called Boyle (as in, boil)... The Cat and the Claw was pretty good too. Two-parters are always welcome, as they allow for extra development, both in plot and in character. Catwoman fancies Batman. Again. But for once, I don't fancy Catwoman. I just don't think she's sexy enough. But I do fancy her assisstant Mavin a little, and what a surprise, she's a redhead... Did you notice that the credits on the first part are actually those for On Leather Wings? And what's happened to Robin? He was in Christmas With the Joker, and he hasn't been seen since! Quote
Batbrick Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 In that case, I'll have to give it a go. That and DC: The New Frontier. Oh, and Gotham Knight. Catch up quick then! I just bought Subzero and Gotham Knight. I was very pleasantly surprised at Gotham Knight, I think if you can get over the anime aspect and enjoy it as an indepth look into Batman's character you will also love it. Though the first story is annoying, seriously, the dialog the kids spurt out makes the Batman in my Basement ep of BTAS sound like art. I can answer any questions too if you want. Ah, I see. Let's be honest though, there's not much chance of that because B&R is 'so bad it's bad'. I should have saved myself five minutes before and just written this I, um, haven't seen this either... Die. No, seriously, just crawl into your bed and die. No I mean it, it is better to not exist than to have never seen Firefly Seriously though, I just know you would love it, a sci-fi western of 14 eps and a feature movie. Great arcs, hilarious characters, there was a redhead in there too Honestly, just look the eps up on wikipedia, type them into a youtube search and watch! That's a good point actually. All the current Bat-family have black hair don't they? It starts to annoy me after a while really, there are almost no blondes (they discriminate us! Yeah that's right I'm also blonde, though I keep my hair under better control), and a freakishly large black haird population. I understand it works a bit with Gotham's dark deco, but it angers me. Luckily I then remember I'm getting angry over hair colour and calm down a bit. We could call it 'Return to the BatbrickCave: The Misadventures of Batbrick and Brainbox'. Then do a gritty, out-of-continuity version called 'All-Star Batbrick and Brainbox the Boy Pun-der'. I'm the Goddamn Batbrick! Now eat those rats Brainbox, or you'll never be detraumatised over your parents death! Speaking of JLA, your mentioned "Justice" was in Birchalls today, looked great, especially with the Clown Prince of Crime on the front. I didn't pick it up though, I already bought Gotham Knight and I need to get other comics first. Looked great, even though the blurb removed the villains mystique (I mean I know the villains weren't truly good, but they didn't have to say it!). The worrying thing is, if I'd have said it, it would have been. I see, hilarious in the sense that it completely annihilates any form of humour in the vicinity of several lightyears right? Speaking of, I've managed to watch a slew of BYAS episode recently. It's Never Too Late was suitably different to be good, while I've Got Batman In My Basement was suitably different to be bad. It was improved slightly by the inclusion of the Penguin, but it was all too 'typical Home Alone/kids save the day' for my liking. Well, why does she calm down when she discovers that they haven't wrecked the house because it was actually a supervillain, but it's all okay because the kids are hiding Batman IN HER BASEMENT!? Well, you are now through the worst ep of all time so be happy. As for INTL, I was surprised you didn't like it more, I love mob stories, and this is a great throwback to those old gangster films. Fantastic. Did you notice that the credits on the first part are actually those for On Leather Wings? And what's happened to Robin? He was in Christmas With the Joker, and he hasn't been seen since! Heart of Ice as you say is sheer brilliance, especially the final part. The Catwoman two-parter is good I agree, though I like the ending. I agree she isn't sexy enough (she is a little bustier though in later eps). Soon up is the Clayface two-parter though, another great couple of eps. And one of my favourites, the grey ghost ep, which stars Adam West as the title character and Bruce Timm as a character too Robin pops up soon, in disc 4 I believe, he has a good origin story in season 2. And on Disc 4 you also get some more rogue villain eps, including Croc and Harley Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Though the first story is annoying, seriously, the dialog the kids spurt out makes the Batman in my Basement ep of BTAS sound like art. That bad, huh? How do the villains come across. Because I know we were a little divided when the designs first surfaced, and I displayed an uncharacteristic closed-mindedness. I almost got a bit fanboyish for a short time. Die. No, seriously, just crawl into your bed and die. No I mean it, it is better to not exist than to have never seen Firefly Here we go again. You tell me to check something out, I do, I get interested, I buy it, I have no money. Well, not this time. This time I'm-- ooh, that looks good. I might have to look into buying it. Oh, damn. It starts to annoy me after a while really, there are almost no blondes (they discriminate us! Yeah that's right I'm also blonde, though I keep my hair under better control), and a freakishly large black haird population. Steph Brown, and I guess you could count both Black Canarys. The first was based in Gotham, and the second was when the Birds of Prey were. Cluemaster was blond as well, but he's a villain as were Lady Vic, Query and Mr Zsasz. You could count the Bette Kane Bat-Girl, but she was retconned (the Bat-Girl bit at least). Oh, and Sasha Bordeaux was blond at one point. And Nora Fries. But I agree, there aren't enough blondes. Wait a minute... (they discriminate us! Yeah that's right I'm also blonde, though I keep my hair under better control) Oi! Speaking of JLA, your mentioned "Justice" was in Birchalls today, looked great, especially with the Clown Prince of Crime on the front. The Joker bits are good, especially as they're quite few and far between. But because of that, you see why everyone thinks of him as this unstoppable, destructive force. And I mean everyone. I see, hilarious in the sense that it completely annihilates any form of humour in the vicinity of several lightyears right? Oh yeah, course. As for INTL, I was surprised you didn't like it more, I love mob stories, and this is a great throwback to those old gangster films. Oh no, I did like it. It's just the whole repentance thing felt a bit rushed. Not the writers fault, mind, it was because they only had 20-odd minutes to work with. I agree she isn't sexy enough (she is a little bustier though in later eps). We really are walking cliches aren't we? And one of my favourites, the grey ghost ep, which stars Adam West as the title character and Bruce Timm as a character too Ah yes, should be good. I didn't know Bruce Timm was in it as well. And on Disc 4 you also get some more rogue villain eps, including Croc and Harley Actually, that's a point. Why was Clayface one one of the disc 2 menus when he's not in till disc 3? Quote
Batbrick Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 That bad, huh? Okay, not really, but it is the weakest, so just make sure when you watch it to not let it leave a sour taste in your mouth. If so, watch again without that first story and it is great. How do the villains come across. Because I know we were a little divided when the designs first surfaced, and I displayed an uncharacteristic closed-mindedness. I almost got a bit fanboyish for a short time. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Killer Croc has very short screentime, one fight, and it is very chaotic, so his design works in a monstrous way. His exit is pretty cool too, and his monstosity is cleverly explained as being a test subject for many of Crane's experiments. Scarecrow is also fantastic, much better. Seriously, the design works so well in this segment, and his dialog is great. Like Croc he doesn't appear a lot, but he gets more screentime still than the former. Again I'll repeat, his design rocks in this segment, I was blown away by how well it meshed. Deadshot is the epitome of perfection. Seriously, I like this guy's style better than his comics cousin. His fascination with guns and expert in them is really well established, and his story is the best. It was written by Alan Burnett, so it had to be. There is also Sal Maroni who is pretty cool in two stories, and a mobster called the Russian who comes from a large continent that is very cold. Here we go again. You tell me to check something out, I do, I get interested, I buy it, I have no money. Well, not this time. This time I'm-- ooh, that looks good. I might have to look into buying it.Oh, damn. Did you check it out? because at the risk of sounding like a broken record, you'd love it. The only major two that were major were Black Canary ( ) and Steph Brown, and even she isn't THAT famous. You missed a really important one out though: Jean Paul Valley. The Joker bits are good, especially as they're quite few and far between. But because of that, you see why everyone thinks of him as this unstoppable, destructive force. And I mean everyone. Very nice, reminds me of that Legion of Doom comic where Trickster reveals that when villains want to scare each other, "They tell Joker stories" Oh no, I did like it. It's just the whole repentance thing felt a bit rushed. Not the writers fault, mind, it was because they only had 20-odd minutes to work with. Oh yes, understandable. Which is why Gotham Knight I like a lot, they only have 12 odd minutes! We really are walking cliches aren't we? Yes, but is it really that bad? Ah yes, should be good. I didn't know Bruce Timm was in it as well. Yes, he likes to cameo occasionally. On Mask of the Phantasm you can see a newspaper saying "Radomski to press: I'm innocent", Eric Radomski was a producer of the DCAU. Didn't know you loved Croc that much, I'll take Harley then Actually, that's a point. Why was Clayface one one of the disc 2 menus when he's not in till disc 3? Because I don't know. The animation on him in part 2 is great though. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Nice. They all sound pretty good, ad it's neat how they tie together a bit. Did you check it out? because at the risk of sounding like a broken record, you'd love it. I skimmed through the wikipedia entry, and it does sound pretty good. Isn't it great how well we know each other despite never having met. You missed a really important one out though: Jean Paul Valley. Oh yeah. Never much liked him anyway. Very nice, reminds me of that Legion of Doom comic where Trickster reveals that when villains want to scare each other, "They tell Joker stories" The other one comes in Superman: Camelot Falls when, in a vision of a fallen humanity in the future, we know how bad it is because "the Joker's stopped laughing". Watched See No Evil and Beware of the Gray Ghost. I quite liked SNE, and once again Bats demonstrated an uncanny knack with kids. Seriosuly, he was holding Catwoman's daughter recently (in an unbearably cute panel). BOTGG was fantastic, mostly because of Adam West. When I went to see Transformers last summer, I got this chill down my spine on hearing Cullen speak as Prime for the first time. The same happened here. The story was good, and it was a little moving in parts as well. On a related note, I went shopping yesterday and found a Batman shelf in HMV. In anticipation of the release of TDK (a week tomorrow), all the Batman DVDs they had were on offer. I jumped on BTAS Vol.2 for £10! Yes, £10! Now all I have to do is finish Vol.1. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 Nice. They all sound pretty good, ad it's neat how they tie together a bit. Yes, keep note of the golf game conversation in "field test" which gets later importance. Luckily they are still standalone which means I can slap on the DVD and watch an ep for the small time of 13 minutes. I skimmed through the wikipedia entry, and it does sound pretty good. Isn't it great how well we know each other despite never having met. Yes it is! But all Batgeeks think alike, and this show is another one of those "geek" things, fans call themselves Browncoats and if you watch it you'll see why! Oh yeah. Never much liked him anyway. He was important to Knightfall though which is a great arc. Yuo haven't read it yet though ( ) Say, I'm trying to find out the continuity of the Batverse, you wouldn't happen to know any sights where I could find out which Novel comes after which would you? I'm trying to get the early years, so next up for me so far are Haunted Knight, Catwoman: When In Rome, Matt Wagner duology and The Man Who Laughs. The other one comes in Superman: Camelot Falls when, in a vision of a fallen humanity in the future, we know how bad it is because "the Joker's stopped laughing". I thought that was an issue of Swamp Thing? excellent quote though. Yes, Adam West was perfect for that role, and the villain is hilarious (that was Bruce Timm btw). Now I'm no huge Transformers fan, but even I loved that Cullen returned On a related note, I went shopping yesterday and found a Batman shelf in HMV. In anticipation of the release of TDK (a week tomorrow), all the Batman DVDs they had were on offer. I jumped on BTAS Vol.2 for £10! Yes, £10! Now all I have to do is finish Vol.1. Damn! I want them! Good job though, that one has some of the best eps: Perchance to Dream, The Man Who Killed Batman, Almost Got 'im, The Laughing Fish and others I forget. On a related note, I saw The Dark Knight on the 16th! Booyah! You will NOT be disappointed, the only gripe i have (and the movie is so good that while usually this gripe would destroy the movie for me it now is just making it short of perfect) is the late dismissal of a character. You'll know who it is when you see it. The Joker is hilarious though, you can see my spoiler free (and totally unbiased ) review on the movie thread. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) He was important to Knightfall though which is a great arc. Yuo haven't read it yet though ( ) Oh I accept that. I just didn't shed any tears when he died is all. Say, I'm trying to find out the continuity of the Batverse, you wouldn't happen to know any sights where I could find out which Novel comes after which would you? I'm trying to get the early years, so next up for me so far are Haunted Knight, Catwoman: When In Rome, Matt Wagner duology and The Man Who Laughs. I haven't come across one, no. But Catwoman: When In Rome takes place during Dark Victory, which of course takes place after The Long Halloween. I think TMWL is generally accepted as second year, as is TLH. I thought that was an issue of Swamp Thing? excellent quote though. Um... yes, it may well have been. But I've not read any Swamp Thing, and I was sure I'd read it somewhere. Hmm... Yes, Adam West was perfect for that role, and the villain is hilarious (that was Bruce Timm btw). And did you notice all the episode titles of The Gray Ghost? If you pause the DVD, you can see one called Dr. Death and one called Spy Smashers. Some nice little in-jokes there I think. Also, the reel he takes out is number 18, the same episode number as the BTAS episode itself. Damn! I want them! Good job though, that one has some of the best eps: Perchance to Dream, The Man Who Killed Batman, Almost Got 'im, The Laughing Fish and others I forget. Yes, I noticed. Can't wait to get to them. Don't forget Robin's Reckoning though. On a related note, I saw The Dark Knight on the 16th! Booyah! Damn you. It's not out until next Friday here (although some adverts say Thursday). That said, I may end up going twice, once with my dad, and once with my friend, as she suggested we should go. EDIT: Forgot to say, I picked up DCU #0 and Final Crisis: Requiem the other day. DCU was nothing special, but because of the 50 cents price in America, it was only 30p! And the hint/teaser at the end was very nice. FC was really good, it made me a little emotional at times if I'm honest. In case you've not kept up with FC, I'll spoiler this, but it deals with the death of J'onn J'onzz, and serves as a tribute to him. There're also a couple of fantastic Batman moments in there as well. Unfortunately, I was reading it on the bus, so crying wouldn't have been such a good thing! Edited July 18, 2008 by Brainbox Quote
Batbrick Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Oh I accept that. I just didn't shed any tears when he died is all. Oh fair enough, his character was fairly compelling as Bruce's biggest mistake though in Knightfall. I haven't come across one, no. But Catwoman: When In Rome takes place during Dark Victory, which of course takes place after The Long Halloween. I think TMWL is generally accepted as second year, as is TLH. Oh I already know that! I think Catwoman: When In Rome followed by The Man Who laughs will be up next. I'm really excited to be building up the years in it, do you often re read oyur comics? I do, I read Year One the other day and am now halfway through TLH. And did you notice all the episode titles of The Gray Ghost? If you pause the DVD, you can see one called Dr. Death and one called Spy Smashers. Some nice little in-jokes there I think. Also, the reel he takes out is number 18, the same episode number as the BTAS episode itself. Yes I loved that part, there was also one I believe that refers to another episode too, I'll have to check to see which one. Yes, I noticed. Can't wait to get to them. Don't forget Robin's Reckoning though. You enjoying them so far? Sometimes its honestly better once you've seen them all to just go back and watch the good ones, I know that rotters often leave sour memories. The third season is my favourite though, an almost seamless run of eps with the intro of Ras Al Ghul as well. Damn you. It's not out until next Friday here (although some adverts say Thursday). That said, I may end up going twice, once with my dad, and once with my friend, as she suggested we should go. My friend just saw it and sent a text saying: "The Dark Knight is one of the best movies ever." Thing is, I can't disagree with him, I'm seeing it a second time on Wednesday with my good friend who I'm reeling into the batmythos! EDIT: Forgot to say, I picked up DCU #0 and Final Crisis: Requiem the other day. DCU was nothing special, but because of the 50 cents price in America, it was only 30p! Eh, he'll be back no doubt, he is a great character though. I was never into the "crises" of any time to be honest, but it is always good to hear updates too though thanks. And how's your Bat Goody Bag 4 coming? My fifth one is already prepped to go! But now i'm building the Iceberg Lounge on a 48x48 baseplate, I really enjoy making the biggies. Brainbox Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I'm really excited to be building up the years in it, do you often re read oyur comics? Oh yeah, all the time. I re-read my Transformers trades quite a bit, but sometimes that's to go back and check something that was mentioned earlier on, as it all ties together. I re-read some of the things in my CEs sometimes as well. In fact, a few months ago, I went back and read everything I wanted to in full. As in, a story at a time, rather than an issue at a time, since there are three (usually) stories in each. You enjoying them so far? Oh yeah. I never got to watch them much when they were on TV. I mean I was pretty young in 1992 (1 or 2 in fact), so obviously I never saw them first time around. But then even with repeat showing as I grew older, and the later series, I still didn't get to see much of it. Cartoon imports here have a tendency to be on at stupid times of the morning, around 8:00 or 9:00. Weekdays I'm getting ready, weekends I'm in bed. And now with the digital channels, they're on non-freeview channels (which I don't have). In that sense, it's good to be able to enjoy something new. Most of the films and series I buy, I buy because I watched them when they were on. This is completely new. Plus, it's a fantastic series, with so many ties to the whole Bat-mythos. What can go wrong? Besides I've Got Batman In My Basement, that is. Watched Prophecy of Doom and Feat of Clay (both parts) last night, then The Joker's Favour and Vendetta today. Prophecy was okay. It was strange how no-one made the connection between Carl Fowler and Nostromos despite the fact they look exactly the same. I mean, yes, Batman worked it out, but only after a while. Surely if you're going to con people with a disguise, make the disguise look different to the real you! And of course, Bruce quotes Shakespeare. I see we've slipped back to the 60s again... Feat of Clay was really rather good. Like you said before, the animation for Clayface in part 2 was simply superb. It was noticable dark as well. We had attempted murder, framing, attempted suffocation by pillow, torture by having liquid forced down your throat, mutilation... It was nice to see some of the background characters get a bit of a look in as well. Germs for instance. Neat bit of characterisation there. And of course, Ron Perlman as Clayface, I'd forgotten about that. I can see now what TLCs Clayface in the game is modelled on. TJF was a Joker story, so it was bound to be good. Plus it was Harley's first appearance. Enough said, really. Oh, and Batman laughed. That was a bit creepy actually... Vendetta. Again, nice. It's good to see more of the GCPD, and the Batboat/sub looks pretty cool (from what little we saw of it). Croc was done well, but it's strange how everyone was so quick to turn on Bullock despite very little strong incriminating evidence... No! He's really dead? Eh, he'll be back no doubt, he is a great character though. I was never into the "crises" of any time to be honest, but it is always good to hear updates too though thanks. Looks like it yeah. Libra, the new head of the reorganised Secret Society of Super-villains, killed him with a flaming spear, because it's what the Human Flame wanted most (the death). It was really quite sad to read actually, as he said goodbye to a select few (Superman, Batman, Hal Jordan, Black Canary and Gypsy), and had them record the history of Mars via a telepathic trance. I have to say, Final Crisis is shaping up quite well. I haven't read any of it, save Requiem, but I've kept abreast of what's happening. The day that evil won indeed... And how's your Bat Goody Bag 4 coming? My fifth one is already prepped to go! But now i'm building the Iceberg Lounge on a 48x48 baseplate, I really enjoy making the biggies. Iceberg Lounge, eh? Sounds interesting. I wish I could build more big MOCs, but honestly I don't have the space, either for building or for displaying. Bat-MOC 4 is nearly ready for photographing. I think maybe just a couple more things. I've lost it a bit with this one, there're a few silly things sneaking in there. Still, wait and see the good stuff... EDIT: Read this, entitled "What if Micheal Bay directed The Dark Knight (no spoilers) Very good... Quote

Batbrick Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 Oh yeah, all the time. Yeah, I'm back on dark Victory right now, it's pretty clever how the Holiday duo fit into Year One. Though I did pick up one little fault, in Year One Bruce states he calls it the Batcave, while in DV he tells Dick he hasn't thought of giving it a name. This just goes to show just how much I really need to get a life, but then again, I think I enjoy not having one! I was born in 1992! Luckily I watched the reruns which were aired, I remember Clayface's pycho moment followed by electrocution scared the willies out of me! Oh, don't remind of that episode, BTAS has by far the largest amount of brilliant eps, but also shares some of the biggest stinkers. Luckily by Season three they are all but gone. Yes, my cousin and I watch this episode for laughs quite often, it isn't horrible, just plain weird. "Psychic vibrations Alfred!" indeed. Feat of Clay was really rather good. Like you said before, the animation for Clayface in part 2 was simply superb. It was noticable dark as well. We had attempted murder, framing, attempted suffocation by pillow, torture by having liquid forced down your throat, mutilation...It was nice to see some of the background characters get a bit of a look in as well. Germs for instance. Neat bit of characterisation there. And of course, Ron Perlman as Clayface, I'd forgotten about that. I can see now what TLCs Clayface in the game is modelled on. You'll have to excuse me, but I'm assuming you really liked the two parter, I can't tell with you, you don't go as ecstatic as I do over things Ron Perlman is great, Hellboy now correct? Oh yes, I love the second part, especially Clayface's personality override and subsequent breakdown at the end. As you say about Germs, he is probably my favourite one shot character of the series, just for the eccentricity and that badass seawater interrogation! TJF was a Joker story, so it was bound to be good. Plus it was Harley's first appearance. Enough said, really. Oh, and Batman laughed. That was a bit creepy actually...Vendetta. Again, nice. It's good to see more of the GCPD, and the Batboat/sub looks pretty cool (from what little we saw of it). Croc was done well, but it's strange how everyone was so quick to turn on Bullock despite very little strong incriminating evidence... The good thing about season one is that after it has introduced the main rogues gallery you won't get as much Nostromos villains, and not as many Joker eps. Lets face it, Joker is awesome, but when you get too much of him you end up with more duds than.....er...something that generally isn't considered a dud. I think Bullock was only frowned on by Bats though? Wasn't his rather anti-heroic attitude a clash against Batman in earlier eps? I know that there weren't any other suspects though. Looks like it yeah. Libra, the new head of the reorganised Secret Society of Super-villains, killed him with a flaming spear, because it's what the Human Flame wanted most (the death). It was really quite sad to read actually, as he said goodbye to a select few (Superman, Batman, Hal Jordan, Black Canary and Gypsy), and had them record the history of Mars via a telepathic trance.I have to say, Final Crisis is shaping up quite well. I haven't read any of it, save Requiem, but I've kept abreast of what's happening. The day that evil won indeed... He'll be back I'm sure of it, as will another "final" crisis Iceberg Lounge, eh? Sounds interesting. I wish I could build more big MOCs, but honestly I don't have the space, either for building or for displaying. It is on a 48x48 baseplate so I'm really struggling to get enough bricks, but I think I'll manage. It will have a bar, the "iceberg" pond (surrounded by small tables), a higher up platform where Pengy eats dinner with higher guests of clients, Pengy's suite and the little room to the side where he deals weapons and information. I know space is a huge problem for you, you'll have to give in one day I reckon and trash some sets for parts. Bat-MOC 4 is nearly ready for photographing. I think maybe just a couple more things. I've lost it a bit with this one, there're a few silly things sneaking in there. Still, wait and see the good stuff... Looking forward to it, I'll let you go first naturally, you started it after all. Very good... "Which internets do we hack?" "All of them!" Empireonline's 50 greatest comic charactersOnce again, the Joker has been credited with an aka Jack Napier. Nope, sorry, never been revealed in the comics. Jack yes, Napier no. Oh yes, I love the second part, especially Clayface's personality override and subsequent breakdown at the end. It was very well done I have to say. And it's things like that, as well as numerous other dark moments across the series that set BTAS out from other cartoons. Not just of the era, but generally. How many other cartoons are that, well, adult? Lets face it, Joker is awesome, but when you get too much of him you end up with more duds than.....er...something that generally isn't considered a dud. Oh I agree, less is more. He's such a malevolent force of evil, he doesn't need to be at the forefront all the time. I think Bullock was only frowned on by Bats though? Wasn't his rather anti-heroic attitude a clash against Batman in earlier eps? I know that there weren't any other suspects though. No other suspects?! Only because they decided it was Bullock. He may be a bit rough around the edges (a bit?), but does that make him a kidnapper? He'll be back I'm sure of it, as will another "final" crisis The DC Editorial staff swear this is the last one, no more, finito. Let's look at it this way. During the run-up in Countdown we had the death of the New Gods (okay, so some of them are living in human recepticles now, but they're still technically dead), then before that in 52 Black Adam killed most of Bialya. Now J'onn is dead, and Bludhaven has become a base for 'evil' with captured humans (Batman among them) for slavery, etc. Seriously, we'd better not have another crisis, or there'll be no-one left! Sounds good. You should check out Detective Comics #824 (Night of the Penguin) if you can. It features the new Iceberg Lounge quite heavily. I believe it's in the Detective trade. I know space is a huge problem for you, you'll have to give in one day I reckon and trash some sets for parts. And what's it going to be like when I go to university (in about a year)? I won't have space for anything! Looking forward to it, I'll let you go first naturally, you started it after all. Oh thanks. I might be able to get it up this week if I get my act together. And find the camera. Still, a great list, you should check out their "Dark Knight Fortnight". What? Dark Knight Fortnight? How could I have missed that? On a related note, have you seen the new Watchmen trailer? I really need to find the graphic novel before the film comes out. Thing is, I don't want to buy it (and I can't afford it), so I need to find it in the library... The film looks visually impressive, I'll give it that. Quote
Batbrick Posted July 21, 2008 Author Posted July 21, 2008 Um... I do that as well. I find myself doing it with Doctor Who, watching episodes and going "No, sorry, back in [...] it was said that [...]". Oh c'mon! What are you my doppelganger? Don't tell me you're left handed as well! Oh yeah, I loved it. I just have a problem displaying emotions. I've noticed, what did you think of the Two-Face two-parter? I can't recall if oyu liked the second part or not. I watched it again today and i must say the end is powerful stuff, three great scenes at the end: the suspenseful coin flip, the schizo outburst and the glimmer of hope at the end. Yes he is. That's why I thought it was interesting. I have yet to see Hellboy actually, or the new one. I hear they are quite good. Have you seen them? It was very well done I have to say. And it's things like that, as well as numerous other dark moments across the series that set BTAS out from other cartoons. Not just of the era, but generally. How many other cartoons are that, well, adult? I definitely agree, but what I love about it as well is that it doesn't stick there, there are some very comical yet definitely still modern stories (Joker's Favor), then comical and 60's one like The Last Laugh interspersed with the darkness of Two-Face, tragedy of Mr.Freeze and more detective stories like On Leather Wings. Atleast now you'll be able to critique my BTAS vigs properly when I make them. Oh I agree, less is more. He's such a malevolent force of evil, he doesn't need to be at the forefront all the time. Great description there, I might use that one day. No other suspects?! Only because they decided it was Bullock. He may be a bit rough around the edges (a bit?), but does that make him a kidnapper? Wrong, there was Thorne as well remember? Plus Killer Croc was the side dish suspect later. Question is: Does Harvey having some anger trouble make him a villain? Same case, even less believable but it happened. Not to mention Bullock is heavily implied throughout the series to have had dirty dealings in the past. The DC Editorial staff swear this is the last one, no more, finito. Seriously, we'd better not have another crisis, or there'll be no-one left! , I want to find out who's idea it was to make a crisis in the first place, it really makes you dizzy keeping up with it all... Sounds good. You should check out Detective Comics #824 (Night of the Penguin) if you can. It features the new Iceberg Lounge quite heavily. I believe it's in the Detective trade. Thanks, I'd like to check it out but there isn't a supply of comics anywhere here that you don't have to buy sadly. Mine will be part based off what little I have seen in the comics, mixed with the BTAS version and my own flair. Here is the BTAS one: Of course, mine will be MUCH, MUCH smaller! But you get the idea. And what's it going to be like when I go to university (in about a year)? I won't have space for anything! Does Britain work the same as Aus does? If so that puts you about a year and half older than me. Oh thanks. I might be able to get it up this week if I get my act together. And find the camera. Yes, and those Agents pics! Any details on the next Treat or is that a surprise? What? Dark Knight Fortnight? How could I have missed that? I like the "Seven Ages of Batman" one. On a related note, have you seen the new Watchmen trailer? I really need to find the graphic novel before the film comes out. Thing is, I don't want to buy it (and I can't afford it), so I need to find it in the library...The film looks visually impressive, I'll give it that. I have yet to watch the trailer as the computer is lagging as all heck due to exceeding my bandwidth (Damn you Twilight Zone!). So as soon as that gets going i'll be sure to check it out. I am definitely going to buy the novel one day but for now I am stuck with my little profits... BTW, have you seen those hilarious Marvel vs Dc videos on youtube? Batbrick Away! Quote

I watched it again today and i must say the end is powerful stuff, three great scenes at the end: the suspenseful coin flip, the schizo outburst and the glimmer of hope at the end. Yep, it was very good. The thing that's always bothered me about Two-Face, and I can fully understand why this was done, is that the scarring stops with a perfect line down his face. There's no overlap onto the other half. What are the chances of that? I have yet to see Hellboy actually, or the new one. I hear they are quite good. Have you seen them? I've seen the first one, but the second one hasn't come out here yet. August 15th I think. I've not read any of the comics, but I'm told that the films are pretty close to them. Well, the first one at least. It was certainly an enjoyable film, and the second one looks pretty good from the one trailer I've seen. Atleast now you'll be able to critique my BTAS vigs properly when I make them. I was wondering what had become of them. Wrong, there was Thorne as well remember? If so that puts you about a year and half older than me. I'm 18 this October. And if you were born April 1992, then... yeah, about a year and a half. So I'll be starting uni when I've just turned 19. Any details on the next Treat or is that a surprise? I don't know, you'll have to answer that one, seeing as how the Treat is yours. As for Bat-MOC 4 there's a relic of the 60s, a Bat-vehicle, an add-on, a couple of silly things, and some villain vehicles. I might make another mini Batmobile as well. And a Batbrick/Brainbox thing if I can think of a good idea. I have yet to watch the trailer as the computer is lagging as all heck due to exceeding my bandwidth (Damn you Twilight Zone!). So as soon as that gets going i'll be sure to check it out. I am definitely going to buy the novel one day but for now I am stuck with my little profits... It certainly looks good. There's no overlap onto the other half. What are the chances of that? I can't answer why that it is like that in the comics, but in the animated series it had to be like that so it could be properly animated, otherwise you'd get this line moving around all the time. I've seen the first one, but the second one hasn't come out here yet. August 15th I think. I've not read any of the comics, but I'm told that the films are pretty close to them. Well, the first one at least. It was certainly an enjoyable film, and the second one looks pretty good from the one trailer I've seen. Cool, I probably won't see it in cinemas though as I have, as mentioned before, an extremely tight budget. Ha, you have no space and I have no money! I was wondering what had become of them. Yeah, I though about making the vigs a while ago, but then I waited for Harley Quinn, and then again I'm waiting for next year's sets. I must say after all those characters in the game, some will HAVE to be in the next wave (assuming there is a next wave, which is likely I think). Um... it was you that said there weren't any other suspects. Stop confusing ME! For the third time there were no other suspects! I'm 18 this October. And if you were born April 1992, then... yeah, about a year and a half. So I'll be starting uni when I've just turned 19. Ah yes, I have the unfortunate timing of coming to uni at the same time that my mother is on her final year there.......awkward I don't know, you'll have to answer that one, seeing as how the Treat is yours. Oh Gosh I was tired last night wasn't I? I really need to get more sleep.... As for Bat-MOC 4 there's a relic of the 60s, a Bat-vehicle, an add-on, a couple of silly things, and some villain vehicles. I might make another mini Batmobile as well. And a Batbrick/Brainbox thing if I can think of a good idea. Hey good idea. I still want ot make you a Brainboxmobile, to get rid of some tires and yellow. When is your birthday in october? And I still have to explain via minivig how you keep getting a hair cut... It certainly looks good. There's also a trailer/comic comparion on the site, and some of the shots are scarily close. No, I understand why it was done, in both the comics and the cartoons, but it's always struck me as odd, somewhat unreal. Then again, I suppose it's no more unreal than an alien who's allergic to bits of his home planet. Ha, you have no space and I have no money! Actually, I'm on a bit of a tight budget as well. I have plenty of money, but it's all been carefully designated so I can buy everything I want. I think I can afford all the Batman sets, the Agents sets, and a couple of Castle sets I still haven't got, but not much else. A few graphic novels maybe. I had to pass on Masterpiece G1 Optimus Prime for £30 (less than half price) the other day, because I decided I couldn't afford it in the long run. I must say after all those characters in the game, some will HAVE to be in the next wave (assuming there is a next wave, which is likely I think). I should hope so! Frankly, I'd settle if we only got Gordon, but a Mad Hatter and a Man-Bat would be nice. Ah yes, I have the unfortunate timing of coming to uni at the same time that my mother is on her final year there.......awkward It'd be bad enough being there at the same time as a sibling, but your mum... Hey good idea. I still want ot make you a Brainboxmobile, to get rid of some tires and yellow. When is your birthday in october? 2nd. I start back at college at the beginning of September and a month later it's my birthday. Unfortunately that meant I didn't get any presents from friends last year as we didn't know each other well enough. So they all get two birthdays with everyone, and I get essentially get one. And why does the BBM have to be yellow?! Can't it be in the BB colours- blue and dark blue? And I still have to explain via minivig how you keep getting a hair cut... Some low-slung BatbrickSaws in the BatbrickCave entrance no doubt. They are very funny, check out the new Dark Knight video. I'll make sure I do. Been reading Tales of the Multiverse: Batman: Vampire recently, from the library. It collects Batman/Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstorm and Batman: Crimson Mist. As Multiverse stories go, some work better than others. The vampire idea is a neat one, stretching all the way back to the creation of Batman in 1939. It was an okay story, even if EVERYONE DIED! Batman's internal monologue introspections were a little difficult to read sometimes, the lettering used was particularly curly. And Selina Kyle as the were-cat was... um... strangely attractive. You know, for a human-cat thing. Same goes for Cheetah actually. No, wait, that sounded wrong. Quote

Then again, I suppose it's no more unreal than an alien who's allergic to bits of his home planet. Good point, I thought it was tackled well with Tim Sale as it was fairly messy but overall straight still. Frankly, I'd settle if we only got Gordon, but a Mad Hatter and a Man-Bat would be nice. Well, from the pics of the game and info, possible new figs are: Gordon, Killer Moth (unexpected! ), Manbat, Mad Hatter, Clayface and one other one I forgot. This plus extra allies and Batsuits means that the theme can easily continue It'd be bad enough being there at the same time as a sibling, but your mum... Exactly, it'll be even worse if I get a girlfriend! (Well, I hope I get one ) 2nd. I start back at college at the beginning of September and a month later it's my birthday. Unfortunately that meant I didn't get any presents from friends last year as we didn't know each other well enough. So they all get two birthdays with everyone, and I get essentially get one. What with your punning and fanboyism it must be a rare breed that can put up with you! And why does the BBM have to be yellow?! Can't it be in the BB colours- blue and dark blue? I just think it suits. Plus I have loads of yellow following the aquaraiders and I can't spare blue or especially dark blue. It'll look snazzy. By what did you mean with a Batbrick/Brainbox creation thread though? Some low-slung BatbrickSaws in the BatbrickCave entrance no doubt. Oh, something, much, MUCH more sinister! I'll make sure I do. Heres the link to make it easy: Been reading Tales of the Multiverse: Batman: Vampire recently, from the library. It collects Batman/Dracula: Red Rain, Batman: Bloodstorm and Batman: Crimson Mist. Brainbox Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Well, from the pics of the game and info, possible new figs are:Gordon, Killer Moth (unexpected! ), Manbat, Mad Hatter, Clayface and one other one I forgot. This plus extra allies and Batsuits means that the theme can easily continue I think it's unlikely we'll get any of the game Batsuits (apart from possibly Robin's underwater suit, that would be sweet), but the villains and Gordon would certainly be welcome additions to the line. Clayface is easy, just mould a one piece head/torso slip-on like the Wookies and the Gamorrean guards. Make an oversized hat for Mad Hatter, and some 'wing arms' and a head for Man-Bat. Of course, with the new Agents robot arm, a special Man-bat arm is all the more likely. Exactly, it'll be even worse if I get a girlfriend! (Well, I hope I get one ) Oh, are you single as well? Poor us. That's surprisingly greedy, though I guess you could demand twice as much. Yeah... I was joking though. Good to have friends at all though eh? What with your punning and fanboyism it must be a rare breed that can put up with you! Oh very funny. I just think it suits. Plus I have loads of yellow following the aquaraiders and I can't spare blue or especially dark blue. It'll look snazzy. Fair enough. Guess I shouldn't complain, a yellow car is better than no car. And thanks, by the way. By what did you mean with a Batbrick/Brainbox creation thread though? Again, I was just joking. But if I did one, it would be like the Goody Bag, only Batbrick/Brainbox themed. Heres the link to make it easy: Isn't that the one where only Killer Croc and Two-Face are left at the end? I think the first part was the best of that story. That's the one. The second and third parts weren't bad, but I agree, the first was better. I really need to get onto the library about storing comics. All of mine have them. Sometimes they get new ones in faster than the shops I normally buy them from! I went in the other week and found new copies of Wonder Woman: Who Is Wonder Woman?, the one with art by the excellent Terry Dodson, and Catwoman: Catwoman Dies, which has a fantastic scene with Batman holding Helena (Selina's daughter). It's also revealed that the Batmobile has a car seat. But, er, um, eh, I sort of understand that Cheetah thing..... Let's never mention this again. Oh, and when are you seeing TDK? When is it out in Britain? Me nad my friend are seeing it again tomorrow night! It's out on Friday, so probably next week. Hang on, that means that you'll have seen it twice, before I can even see it once! BTW, off-topic ( ) but did you get my email? Quote

No I meant more batsuits in general, like a Batman Beyond style suit etc. I'd be happy with a green top hat myself for Mad Hatter, it would work. I think Man Bat owuld work best as a "Dinosaurs" theme like construction. But you are spot on for Clayface, i can't believe we never saw it! Oh, are you single as well? Poor us. Indeed, so lonely Still, you're a year and a half older, plenty of time left to show you up! Yeah... I was joking though. Oh very funny. , don't worry, I was joking too. Fair enough. Guess I shouldn't complain, a yellow car is better than no car. And thanks, by the way. No problem, and it'll be big if that is any consolation, maybe even a Brainbox yellow Tumbler? Again, I was just joking. But if I did one, it would be like the Goody Bag, only Batbrick/Brainbox themed. That would be quite cool geeky actually, it could show how we destroy every thread we ever visit! That's the one. The second and third parts weren't bad, but I agree, the first was better. I love most about the first bit (which was ruined by the second and third parts) that it showed that even in the deepest depths from which he cannot hope to climb out of, Batman still manages to strive for what is right........until he kills the Joker and drains his blood naturally....... All of mine have them. Sometimes they get new ones in faster than the shops I normally buy them from! It's also revealed that the Batmobile has a car seat. Stop making me jealous! Next time i'm in town I'll ask some questions at the library, and if they don't, I'll ask questions again. Every. Single. Day. Let's never mention this again. Agreed. It's out on Friday, so probably next week. Hang on, that means that you'll have seen it twice, before I can even see it once! Muhaha! I watched it again just then, and I must say it was brillianter (brillianter? ) than the first movie. You really feel for both Harvey and Bruce, specifically the former and his tragedy, his musical cue listen out for, it is a very inspiring piece flipped on its head in the darker bits. As good as Heath was, i think I liked Aaron Eckhart more, he really made the character likeable, dark, tragic and most important of all, very split. BTW, off-topic ( ) but did you get my email? I did, thanks for that. Still reading it, I love your character designs, in school recently I'm drawing women to improve, and i must say that they are very...curvy I'm really proud of my Talia Al Ghul drawing. Anyway, back to you, I hope you don't mind if I make my own suggestions? I'll pm them to you soon if that's okay. One thing is that I think the men's chins and faces in general really need differing, throw a couple of characters some cheekbones, a scar, baggy eyes and more narrow faces etc, they look a bit similar right now. Very well drawn don't get me wrong though! Thanks again for letting me read it. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 No I meant more batsuits in general, like a Batman Beyond style suit etc. I'm wondering if maybe we'll get a grey suit with the yellow oval Bat-symbol sometime. They'd be able to reuse the dark blue cape and cowl, just make a slightly new torso. I'd be happy with a green top hat myself for Mad Hatter, it would work. I think Man Bat owuld work best as a "Dinosaurs" theme like construction. I'd rather have a hat that's at least a little oversized, but I guess I'd settle for a small one. Maybe we could get a David Wayne Mad Hatter, with the pop-up hypnotism ray in the hat. As for Man-Bat, I think I'd prefer a minifig-sized one, like the 70s design. No problem, and it'll be big if that is any consolation, maybe even a Brainbox yellow Tumbler? Yes yes yes! For that, I might just make you a Batbrickmobile. That would be quite cool geeky actually, it could show how we destroy every thread we ever visit! Forget Superboy-Prime's reality altering temper tantrum, just set us loose! until he kills the Joker and drains his blood naturally....... And then comes back and kills everyone else... Muhaha! I watched it again just then, and I must say it was brillianter (brillianter? ) than the first movie. I want to see this film so much... in school recently I'm drawing women to improve, and i must say that they are very...curvy I'm really proud of my Talia Al Ghul drawing. You'll have to show me some time. You know how much I like my super-hotties. Anyway, back to you, I hope you don't mind if I make my own suggestions? I'll pm them to you soon if that's okay. Obviously this issue is finished and 'locked' but any suggestions for future issues would be a great help. What to have more of, what to have less of, etc. And you might as well email rather than PM. We've clogged up enough threads here, no point ruining the PM system as well. One thing is that I think the men's chins and faces in general really need differing, throw a couple of characters some cheekbones, a scar, baggy eyes and more narrow faces etc, they look a bit similar right now. Very well drawn don't get me wrong though! Have you any idea how hard it is to find decent pictures of male faces it is? I found loads of females faces I wanted to use, but barely any good male ones. That, and I've always found women easier to draw than men. Quote
spaced_out Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 batman MAY BE NICE. BUT POTTER PUPPET PALS PAWNZ ALL with their verson of "discovering Ebay" MATT Quote
Batbrick Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 I'm wondering if maybe we'll get a grey suit with the yellow oval Bat-symbol sometime. They'd be able to reuse the dark blue cape and cowl, just make a slightly new torso. Oh that'd be lovely! I'd also love to see an armoured batsuit like of DKR which would look less high tech than the BB one we have and more bulky. A black TDK versio would also be great. And a winter one. And a Batman Beyond version. And a dark grey classic suit! I'd rather have a hat that's at least a little oversized, but I guess I'd settle for a small one. Maybe we could get a David Wayne Mad Hatter, with the pop-up hypnotism ray in the hat. Oh I agree that a massive hat would be better, but I'd have no qualms in a coloured top hat. I must say the Mad Hatter is the single most criminally underrated villain ever, completely ignored in comics despite the fact that his gimmick (delusion and hypnotism) can create some of the most interesting stories. His BTAS incarnation is my favourite, you'll see when you get up to him in season 1 and 2. As for Man-Bat, I think I'd prefer a minifig-sized one, like the 70s design. Yeah, but they won't come out with ANOTHER arm design so soon, so I reckon a modified Maxifig like that Harry Potter fella Hagrid, that would work best I believe. Yes yes yes! For that, I might just make you a Batbrickmobile. Seeing as I made the wetwire tumbler (with a few mods) in black successfully, I think a yellow one (with some comical mods) would also look rather good, and hilarious Forget Superboy-Prime's reality altering temper tantrum, just set us loose! That Spambox story really is aching to be told! I know in every topic we talk in I always struggle not to recreate the Batman 08 dilemma And then comes back and kills everyone else... That was when the story fell apart big time. I'd love to see a movie done where Batman becomes a vampire, there is such a good opportunity mine in that comcept if they don't stuff it up. Mostly I'd love to see it as a DC animated film so it could be dark like the recent slew of their films. Speaking of which, have you seen Gotham Knight for sale yet? I want to see this film so much... It will be worth the wait trust me, unlike Spiderman and Superman adaptations the little bits that aren't comics accurate are actually there for a brilliant reason, both plotwise and thematic wise. I trust you are seeing it on opening night yes? You'll have to show me some time. You know how much I like my super-hotties. I will sometime. I drew her on pad paper, and it was a bit worn from making mistakes, so I'm drawing a bigger version which in my opinion looks better (more curves ). Obviously this issue is finished and 'locked' but any suggestions for future issues would be a great help. What to have more of, what to have less of, etc. And you might as well email rather than PM. We've clogged up enough threads here, no point ruining the PM system as well. Sure, but pm is easier unless you really want me to do it via e-mail. i haven't read it all, but so far oyu have a great concept and execution, I just think in your eagerness to jump into action you've made some lines a little sketchy. Have you any idea how hard it is to find decent pictures of male faces it is? I found loads of females faces I wanted to use, but barely any good male ones. That, and I've always found women easier to draw than men. You go by pictures? Curious, I never do unless drawing women of which I am horrible at. Funny, you find men hard to draw and I find women hard to draw. I think cheekbones could help though. batman MAY BE NICE.BUT POTTER PUPPET PALS PAWNZ ALL with their verson of "discovering Ebay" MATT Okay, now you're just spamming Batbrick Away! Quote

A black TDK versio would also be great. And a winter one. And a Batman Beyond version. And a dark grey classic suit! An underwater one wouldn't go amiss either, nor would a specialist fireproof one. But I'm thinking we won't get 'the gilded gold garb' or the 'luminous Bat-suit' from the 50s/60s. Have you seen the 60s series Mad Hatter? As played by David Wayne, he's based on the later-revealed-to-be-fake Mad Hatter of the comics at the time. He sported a moustache you see. The way he spits out "Byat-maan" is simply hilarious. And watch out for the Super-instant-mesmeriser in his hat. Take a look here. It comes right at the end. Yeah, but they won't come out with ANOTHER arm design so soon, so I reckon a modified Maxifig like that Harry Potter fella Hagrid, that would work best I believe. Oh that was what you meant, right. Yeah, I'd go for that. That Spambox story really is aching to be told! I know in every topic we talk in I always struggle not to recreate the Batman 08 dilemma Hmm... that gives me an idea for a vig. Speaking of which, have you seen Gotham Knight for sale yet? No actually, I haven't. I mean, I probably can't afford it just yet, but it doesn't seem to have come out. I trust you are seeing it on opening night yes? Sadly no. I think they're all sold out of tickets for Friday, but we're going to book for either Saturday or Sunday today. I prefer an emptier cinema anyway. Sure, but pm is easier unless you really want me to do it via e-mail. i haven't read it all, but so far oyu have a great concept and execution, I just think in your eagerness to jump into action you've made some lines a little sketchy. It doesn't matter. It's just that I've sent it to everyone else via email, and that's how issue 2 will be making its way to you. But if you'd rather do it by PM, then that's fine. There's not much I can do about sketchy lines in the first issue though, that's closed. But I can throw stuff in later issues to clear up problems. This first issue acts as a bit of a tease anyway. You go by pictures? Like I said in the accompanying email (which I snese you haven't read ) I used photographs and traced/modified them. It saved time, so I didn't get too wrapped up in the sketch art when the writing is what I'm really exhibiting. The sketches are only meant to be a guide anyway, so the people reading it have a basic visual idea of the characters. Okay, now you're just spamming That's rich coming from us! Quote
Batbrick Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 An underwater one wouldn't go amiss either, nor would a specialist fireproof one. But I'm thinking we won't get 'the gilded gold garb' or the 'luminous Bat-suit' from the 50s/60s. Oh, I was hoping for them to take advantage over their glow-in-the-dark pieces! Honestly, with the chances of getting Killer Moth, no character is "too vague"! Where is the Mesmeriser part? I can't find it. Oh that was what you meant, right. Yeah, I'd go for that. And hopefully it would come with a mf sized manbat head. Hmm... that gives me an idea for a vig. Really? Hmm, this will either be hilarious or embarassing No actually, I haven't. I mean, I probably can't afford it just yet, but it doesn't seem to have come out. Ah, you're lucky to atleast have the BTAS volumes though, I have to order mine. And the special edition Lego sets too. I hear the Batlego sets are turning up in Britain tohugh, you seen any now? Sadly no. I think they're all sold out of tickets for Friday, but we're going to book for either Saturday or Sunday today. I prefer an emptier cinema anyway. Good point, though I'm happy to say I went on opening night so I saw it before 99% of the world. Too bad you lived in such a populated place, it would've been cool to go to the premier. It doesn't matter. It's just that I've sent it to everyone else via email, and that's how issue 2 will be making its way to you. But if you'd rather do it by PM, then that's fine. Point, i'll get around to finishing now that it is the weekend. There's not much I can do about sketchy lines in the first issue though, that's closed. But I can throw stuff in later issues to clear up problems. This first issue acts as a bit of a tease anyway. Oh yes, just hope to raise some hopefully helpful points Like I said in the accompanying email (which I snese you haven't read ) I used photographs and traced/modified them. It saved time, so I didn't get too wrapped up in the sketch art when the writing is what I'm really exhibiting. The sketches are only meant to be a guide anyway, so the people reading it have a basic visual idea of the characters. I read it, I just didn't think you lifted so many. I think I might try that what with my inability to draw good looking realistic faces. Love the agents though, so stereotypical yet so cool. Oh, and make sure you wedge aliens into the plot somewhere! That's rich coming from us! Batbrick Away! Quote
