Zarkan Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) Yet the most amazing and disturbing thing of all is that crotch bulge on the batsuit! Look Away! I was looking at the awesome bat tumbler, when suddenly I saw this and was like "WHAT THE HECK!" Well, like the infamous bat-nipples, I suppose we now we need a name for this disturbing feature as well. Bat-balls? Bat-nuts? Bat-crotch? Edited August 8, 2008 by Grevious Quote
Brainbox Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I just don;'t get it, how could any man go parading around in a batsuit with something that noticeable? But of course the idea of parading round is perfectly acceptable. If he has a girlfriend though, I'm sure she doesn't mind... My father likes watching Batman with me though, which is good, though that is undone by my sisters thinking that crucial bits are funny, like Dick Grayson's parents dying Oh, my dad's been watching the 60s series when it's been on, but my sister's not really interested and has only seen a few episodes. My mum sometimes watches it, but sometimes doesn't. She says she can't watch it it's just that awful sometimes. What a coincedence, for that is exactly the foe she'll be going up against in the movie! And apparently Bruce Timm stated that he'd love to do a Flash and Green Lantern film, and apparently there are two more Batman monies to be done, two! Sounds good. All I have to do now is watch the ones we've already got... I love that, the maid just calmly tells him there's a phone call while Alfred is in prison. Actually, that's a point, why hasn't she noticed he's not there? And yes, she is worth a look... Especially compared to the other female villains... The Penguin ones are my favourite, I wish the comics would look to this interpretation for inspiration as really it is spot on. Just make him of course have darker motives, not do the "waugh waugh!" and be a bit more evil, but Meredith practically has his conniving personality down, not ot mention just as he should in the comics he often fronts his crimes with legal motives or in fact commits them without breaking a single law at all! That's an interesting point actually. For allwe laugh at the show for being the spoof that it is, we've had some great villains come out of it. This version of the Penguin is a lot better than the Burton version, which I didn't care for at all. Gorshin's Riddler is fantastic, such a manic energy, but clearly a great thinker. Catwoman is a mix of temptress (in that costume, how could anyone resist?) and thief, and she even has heroic moments, where her love for Batman threatens to overwhelm her criminal intentions. I'm sure Youtube has them all surely? It may well do. Wait... I've just found the Catwoman/Sandman episodes, the one with the Alf-cycle. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Said moment comes at the beginning of part 5. A classic sight. "I don't think we shall attract much attention sir." Well, like the infamous bat-nipples, I suppose we now we need a name for this disturbing feature as well. Bat-balls? Bat-nuts? Bat-crotch? Oh I think it's definitely got to be the Bat-crotch. In other news, I watched The Clock King today. Honestly, I loved it. It's probably one of my favourite episodes so far. Perhaps because I'm a little bit like Temple with the stringent routines and such. I wonder if Temple has OCD... The latest issue of Batman Legends arrived today. It's changed to every three weeks rather than four, as has sister title Superman Legends. No reason given, but it means I can get even more action from the World's Finest. First we had Morrison's Batman #673 where after his 'death' last issue, Batman goes on a mind-bending trip with flashbacks to his finding Joe Chill (plus a cameo from a black version of the Whirly-Bat). Bat-Mite appears as well. Again. The we had Part Three of K from Superman/Batman #46, where Superman gets high on magic Kryptonite and Batman and Zatanna flirt. Again. Finally, we had part two of Images, first printed in Legends of the Dark Knight #50, telling the story of Batman's first meeting with the Joker. Again. I also managed to pick up the deluxe edition of The Killing Joke from the library today. I've already read the story, but this printing features new colours by Bolland himself, which look fantastic. Looking forward to reading that. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 But of course the idea of parading round is perfectly acceptable. Of course, naturally! We are comic geeks aren't we? Oh, my dad's been watching the 60s series when it's been on, but my sister's not really interested and has only seen a few episodes. My mum sometimes watches it, but sometimes doesn't. She says she can't watch it it's just that awful sometimes. My sister had to shooken off with a broom yesterday, she just couldn't stand my watching a couple of BTAS eps. My mum loves Mark Hamill's laugh however, though she foolishly prefers the face paint of Ledger to the bleached skin, which is a blasphemy against 70 years of comic history! Speaking of The Dark Knight, are you going to see it again yet? I'm thinking of a third time myself, but I think I'll resist. For now. Sounds good. All I have to do now is watch the ones we've already got... And the upcoming Wonder Woman too. Apparently you have Gotham Knight over there somewhere though, go look for it! Actually, that's a point, why hasn't she noticed he's not there? Does she know that he is Batman? If not, there has to be some major plotholes as a result! Exactly, we laugh at them but for the most part they are spot on characterisation wise, they just are put in campy settings and themselves made a little campier. Riddler, though I prefer the calmer version, its still that genius obsessed with leaving clues. Even Joker is a perfect transition of those 50's Dick Sprang stories. If they made the Penguin in the comics more like Meredith's version, you'd definitely pull him out of that rut writers always get him in. It may well do. Wait... I've just found the Catwoman/Sandman episodes, the one with the Alf-cycle.Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Said moment comes at the beginning of part 5. A classic sight. "I don't think we shall attract much attention sir." I've never laughed so hard as I just did now! After The Twilight Zone I'm watching this. I'll watch these eps soon though, I love how they ride out Oh I think it's definitely got to be the Bat-crotch. Definitely, it will complete the Bat-big behind and Bat-Nipples from Batman and Robin. In other news, I watched The Clock King today. Honestly, I loved it. It's probably one of my favourite episodes so far. Perhaps because I'm a little bit like Temple with the stringent routines and such. I wonder if Temple has OCD... It really is great isn't it? Which one's next? Speaking of BTAS, what with my working more hours recently (9, woo! ) I've been able to attack all three fronts of Lego, Comics and DVD's. I am ordering BTAS Volume 3 today, which will complete the original series! Again. Damn, is all that by Morrison? That man is a hack, honestly, I hate his work so much. Thank goodness I'm collecting the oldies now that the current stories have gone to rot. Speaking of stupid storylines, have you heard of Morrison's Batman: RIP issues he's churning out? They concern a mysterious villain "Black Glove" setting out to destroy Bruce Wayne and Batman by making evidence support them not only being horrid people (druggies and orgy's and whatnot) but by making it seem like Thomas Wayne shot his wife and is still alive! Aargh! Morrison even bragged at the comic festival that this storyline will be "The greatest, most interesting and most life changing event in Batman's life in the past 70 years of comics!". WHAT A HACK! I honestly think the mystery arch villain he can't shut up about will be himself! On a calmer subject, the second front of comics was pushed forward on Friday when I ordered The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told. I'm so excited, considering I get the REAL Joker stories, the ones when he was still funny and deadly, not just a ridiculous killing machine he has been reduced to now. I just hope it was the original and not the remake which isn't as good. I also managed to pick up the deluxe edition of The Killing Joke from the library today. I've already read the story, but this printing features new colours by Bolland himself, which look fantastic. Looking forward to reading that. Very nice, I've read the new colour book, though i prefer the original, the bright colouring gives it its own feel. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Of course, naturally! We are comic geeks aren't we? Indeed. I wonder if his Tumbler is road legal? Because it says that it's fully working. Speaking of The Dark Knight, are you going to see it again yet? I'm thinking of a third time myself, but I think I'll resist. For now. I might be going with my mate this week. We'll just have to see if that comes to fruition. Apparently you have Gotham Knight over there somewhere though, go look for it! Found it in HMV the other day, so when I have a bit more money (next week) I might try and pick it up. I've never laughed so hard as I just did now! After The Twilight Zone I'm watching this. I'll watch these eps soon though, I love how they ride out When he ducks his head? Fantastic! They even have the Bat-theme tune playing. It really is great isn't it? Which one's next? One moment... Appointment In Crime Alley. Isn't that based on There Is No Hope In Crime Alley? I am ordering BTAS Volume 3 today, which will complete the original series! Good for you. That's the one with all the Ra's episodes on isn't it? Now if only it'd come out here... Damn, is all that by Morrison? That man is a hack, honestly, I hate his work so much No, just #673. Images was printed in Legends Of The Dark Knight #50, back in 1993. The CE normally only prints modern stuff, but what with TDK they wanted to have a Joker story. Not sure why they didn't choose something a little more 'classic' but never mind. K is from Superman/Batman where they take it upon themselves to rid the world of Kryptonite. It's not a bad read, and we're getting through it twice as quick due to them printing it as a cross-over with Superman Legends. You know I favour modern stories over classic stories, and I don't mind Morrison's run, but I'm not sure about the Thomas Wayne bit if it's true. The destroying Batman bit is fine, good even. Batman's wandering round Gotham in a drug-addled state with little-to-no memory, Alfred is tied up and beaten in the Cave and Nightwing is semi-conscious and unable to speak in Arkham. That's fine. Thomas Wayne being alive? Please no... There's a lot of speculation that Batman dies, due to the RIP bit. But, my CE said, in response to someone asking if they're going to print Batman RIP (which they are) that "[we] don't even know what the RIP bit stands for." So, something other than Rest In Peace I assume... Very nice, I've read the new colour book, though i prefer the original, the bright colouring gives it its own feel. Especially the flashbacks, where there are only a couple of points of colour in a black and white environment., which I have to say look very nice. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 Indeed. I wonder if his Tumbler is road legal? Because it says that it's fully working. Hopefully, I want one! I might be going with my mate this week. We'll just have to see if that comes to fruition. Good choice, it is definitely better the second time round. Espeially Two-Face, you really feel sorry for poor Harvey. Found it in HMV the other day, so when I have a bit more money (next week) I might try and pick it up. Great, you really need a job don't you? Trust me when I say it really is worth it, especially when you can order a volume of BTAS, a large comic and a nice Lego set, and still have change. I could never do that before. Hope you like the film anyway, I recall you not being the biggest fan of anime. When he ducks his head? Fantastic! They even have the Bat-theme tune playing. I love that! Its those kind of way out there moments that really make the show, I'm ashamed of so-called "Fans of Batman" that denounce it, the tv show in reality saved Batman, bringing the character a lot of attention when sales were at an all time low One moment... Appointment In Crime Alley. Isn't that based on There Is No Hope In Crime Alley? It is, I reckon you'll enjoy it, unless you're one of those people that sees it as an attack on corporations, given the villain. I doubt you will though, that argument is a bit of a stretch. Good for you. That's the one with all the Ra's episodes on isn't it? Now if only it'd come out here... Yeah, I love all his episodes, one is even written by Denny O'Neill himself, based on his "Daughter of the Demon" story. Another includes Jonah Hex in a clever plt, and a further one is the most supernatural of the BTAS eps, which I really like. No, just #673. Ah, doesn't sound bad, if a little tired and formulaic. Is it? You know I favour modern stories over classic stories, and I don't mind Morrison's run, but I'm not sure about the Thomas Wayne bit if it's true. The destroying Batman bit is fine, good even. Batman's wandering round Gotham in a drug-addled state with little-to-no memory, Alfred is tied up and beaten in the Cave and Nightwing is semi-conscious and unable to speak in Arkham. That's fine. Oh boy do I! You and I am at opposite ends of the scale my friend, but I respect that. I do get very tired of the "Teh Most Craazy thing wit Batman ever11!1" attitude that many writers have. We need more Elseworlds damnit! Maybe one where Bruce isn't a billionare and as such has a much cheaper but just as ingenious way of fighting crime as Batman..... Er, anyway, why don't writers just go back and fill in gaps? Scarecrow, nor Poison Ivy, Mad Hatter and others don't have a definitive origin, give them one! Harvey Dent really needs a graphic novel centering around him before batman, culminating in their partnership establish in Year One. How cool would that be? Thomas Wayne being alive? Please no...There's a lot of speculation that Batman dies, due to the RIP bit. But, my CE said, in response to someone asking if they're going to print Batman RIP (which they are) that "[we] don't even know what the RIP bit stands for." So, something other than Rest In Peace I assume... I never thought of that. Still, I hope it gets retconned, it really is pretty stupid to me so far, can we please NOT have a comic where Bruce is brought to the very edge of oblivion for once please? Of course, you and I both know that this isn't the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman. Still, I want to know who this Black Glove is. Are you reading the storyline? Or do you just keep up to date? Especially the flashbacks, where there are only a couple of points of colour in a black and white environment., which I have to say look very nice. Oh yes. That said, Bolland is amazing in his artwork, you always know that the inside art will bge disappointing if the cover is Bolland and the rest isn't. And one other thing, I went to K-Mart today determined to get the 1966 Batman film, and for the very first time they didn't have it! Another day perhaps, how is the film compare alongside the series, given that I've not seen a whole lot of it? Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Hopefully, I want one! Yeah... me too. Great, you really need a job don't you? Trust me when I say it really is worth it, especially when you can order a volume of BTAS, a large comic and a nice Lego set, and still have change. I could never do that before. I really do. Trouble is, I just can't be bothered. I love that! Its those kind of way out there moments that really make the show, I'm ashamed of so-called "Fans of Batman" that denounce it, the tv show in reality saved Batman, bringing the character a lot of attention when sales were at an all time low Like I said, it was also what introduced me to Batman. I first saw the movie when I was quite young, and for many years it was Batman. Besides, it was played as a spoof. It's not as if it was unintentionally 'bad'. It is, I reckon you'll enjoy it, unless you're one of those people that sees it as an attack on corporations, given the villain. I doubt you will though, that argument is a bit of a stretch. And I did. I watched it yesterday. The bit at the end where Bats and Leslie grieve was fantastic. So touching. That 'attack on corporations argument' is absolute rubbish. It was an attack on corrupt, above-their-station business men and their corporations, not corporations in general. Yeah, I love all his episodes, one is even written by Denny O'Neill himself, based on his "Daughter of the Demon" story. Another includes Jonah Hex in a clever plt, and a further one is the most supernatural of the BTAS eps, which I really like. Oh, I didn't know Jonah Hex was in. Nice. Ah, doesn't sound bad, if a little tired and formulaic. Is it? K? It's not too bad. I think the best Superman/Batman stories were when Loeb was writing, not least because of McGuiness' art and the Vengeance story. But it's not bad. We've seen some nice Bat-gadgets, and some guest appearances. Plus it allows me to get all geeky about Kryptonite. To be honest though, I don't really care what they print, as long as they print something. It's a way to get comics on the general British market, and the fact that we get three stories for less than the price of what two would cost normally (comics usually come out at £1.85 here, the CEs are £2.60 each). Plus, we're not that far behind the US market, so I'm getting stuff only a couple of months after rather than having to wait for the trade. Of course, you and I both know that this isn't the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman. Still, I want to know who this Black Glove is. Are you reading the storyline? Or do you just keep up to date? At the moment, I'm just keeping up with it. But the first part was in Batman #676. We're up to #673 in the CE, so it should be printed soon. Oh yes. That said, Bolland is amazing in his artwork, you always know that the inside art will bge disappointing if the cover is Bolland and the rest isn't. Images had a Bolland cover, and it was used as the cover to the last issue Batman Legends. I thought "ooh, Bolland drew it". No he didn't... Another day perhaps, how is the film compare alongside the series, given that I've not seen a whole lot of it? Aw, disappointing. It's more of the same really. Plus, we get the first appearances of the Batcopter, the second Batcycle and the Batboat. There are some pretty funny moments in there, and of course the villains working together is always a good thing. It's like a long episode, without the death-trap cliffhanger. Oh, btw, Aunt Harriet doesn't know Bruce and Dick are Batman and Robin. Some of the excuses they come up with to leave are ridiculous. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 Yeah... me too. Get a job then! I really do. Trouble is, I just can't be bothered. See previous statement. Seriously though, I am meant to be the lazy one remember? Even if you take up a temporary job, it'll help! Like I said, it was also what introduced me to Batman. I first saw the movie when I was quite young, and for many years it was Batman. Besides, it was played as a spoof. It's not as if it was unintentionally 'bad'. Exactly, though some of the lines were just plain awful anyway. Not to mention the amount of spoof spoofing it has created, look no further than the Adam West cameo on the Simpsons where he does the Batusi And I did. I watched it yesterday. The bit at the end where Bats and Leslie grieve was fantastic. So touching. That 'attack on corporations argument' is absolute rubbish. It was an attack on corrupt, above-their-station business men and their corporations, not corporations in general. Thank God! I had an argument with a guy the other day woh thought it was "pretentious" for trying to force feed "anti-corporation messages" to the viewers Good to see you liked it, I really like the theme music for that episode, and as you say the ending was very touching, I always liked Leslie too. Oh, I didn't know Jonah Hex was in. Nice. Yes, I like how they brought him in, Zatanna is in the 2nd season too. Also, a Walt Disney spoof makes it into a Mr.Freeze episode K? It's not too bad. I think the best Superman/Batman stories were when Loeb was writing, not least because of McGuiness' art and the Vengeance story. But it's not bad. Good that you're getting these comics earlier too, I know I need to find a way to get them full stop! Oh well, for what I'm trying to find, the trade paperbacks are fine. Loeb has certainly had some fine runs, though I think Hush was a little under par, what did you think of it? Images had a Bolland cover, and it was used as the cover to the last issue Batman Legends. I thought "ooh, Bolland drew it". No he didn't... Exactly, the two front covers of the Joker editions are drawn by Brian Bolland and Alex Ross respectfully, and contain neither of their stories. On the other hand though, it contains Neal Adams, who frankly pwns them both!* Aw, disappointing. It's more of the same really. Plus, we get the first appearances of the Batcopter, the second Batcycle and the Batboat. There are some pretty funny moments in there, and of course the villains working together is always a good thing. It's like a long episode, without the death-trap cliffhanger.Oh, btw, Aunt Harriet doesn't know Bruce and Dick are Batman and Robin. Some of the excuses they come up with to leave are ridiculous. Wait, disappointing as in not as good or disappointing as in me? Sounds good though, I remember most all of it, but to be honest the two gags that stuck out are the Bomb and Shark ones, as well as that hilarious sub fight. My family is now questioning my sanity in pursuit of the DVD. Oh, and btw, you aren;t going to ignore this little bit, it took me ages to write! Brainbox Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Get a job then! See previous statement. What are you, my mother? Exactly, though some of the lines were just plain awful anyway. Well yes, there is that. Not to mention the amount of spoof spoofing it has created, look no further than the Adam West cameo on the Simpsons where he does the Batusi No, I think that's more to do with the fact that they're the only roles he can get. Good to see you liked it, I really like the theme music for that episode, and as you say the ending was very touching, I always liked Leslie too. Yes, I believe I did think I liked the music when I watched it. I forgot to mention some timely interruptions when I was watching The Clock King. At 1:36, I had to pause the DVD when my mum switched on the vacuum. Shortly after it was turned off and I heard the plug come out the wall. 1:53 and the vacuum mysteriously starts again. Yes, I like how they brought him in, Zatanna is in the 2nd season too. Yes, I know. Dear, sweet Zatanna. Not understanding the "K?" bit, but the rest doesn't sound that bad actually. 'K' is the title of the story. I probably should have made that clear. Especially as the trade is called Kryptonite instead. Oh well, for what I'm trying to find, the trade paperbacks are fine. Loeb has certainly had some fine runs, though I think Hush was a little under par, what did you think of it? I do rather like him as a write. I din't mind Hush to be honest. Sure, it felt like a bit of a whistle-stop tour of the Bat-mythos at times, but the Riddler twist at the end, and I guess you could consider Hish himself as the first of the modern 'personal attack' villains. Disappointing that you've not found the film. Those bits are probably the ones that everyone remembers, just because they're so OTT. And I mean, the Penguin-sub was just awesome in and of itself. Tongihts episode was a special one. The one where Green Hornet and Kato come to town, with their simple and slightly rubbish, but effortlessly cool costumes. My only complaint is that we've not seen much of the Black Beauty (their car) yet. It was also played a little more seriously for a change, because The Green Hornet wasn't a spoof like Batman. Oh, and btw, you aren;t going to ignore this little bit, it took me ages to write! You know, you really should have gone into comedy. You're wasted as you are... You and I am at opposite ends of the scale my friend, but I respect that. I do get very tired of the "Teh Most Craazy thing wit Batman ever11!1" attitude that many writers have. We need more Elseworlds damnit! Maybe one where Bruce isn't a billionare and as such has a much cheaper but just as ingenious way of fighting crime as Batman.....Er, anyway, why don't writers just go back and fill in gaps? Scarecrow, nor Poison Ivy, Mad Hatter and others don't have a definitive origin, give them one! Harvey Dent really needs a graphic novel centering around him before batman, culminating in their partnership establish in Year One. How cool would that be? Elseworlds would be nice, they're always worth a read. Of course, with the 52 earths now, there are only a few left to fill. But never mind. Scarecrow does have a sort of origin, in that he delved into the study of fear after he was tormented by bullies as a younger man. Ivy has bits of an origin, both with and without Jason "The Floronic Man" Woodrue, and the best that Mad Hatter has is Robin: Year One. The Harvey Dent thing sounds pretty good. All we've got is a bit in Year One and then TLH. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 What are you, my mother? Maybe.... No, I think that's more to do with the fact that they're the only roles he can get. , BTAS makes note of this in the Grey Ghost ep, which was a nice touch. I believe he's on Family Guy nowadays, though I wouldn't know, I never cared for that show. Yes, I believe I did think I liked the music when I watched it.I forgot to mention some timely interruptions when I was watching The Clock King. At 1:36, I had to pause the DVD when my mum switched on the vacuum. Shortly after it was turned off and I heard the plug come out the wall. 1:53 and the vacuum mysteriously starts again. Don't you hate that? My mum also does that a lot, you finally think they're done and all they're doing is changing the connection point! Oh well, it seems you still had enough time to watch it Yes, I know. Dear, sweet Zatanna. The episode isn't brilliant but i quite like it as it reveals a bit more of Bruce's training and Zatanna's personality is pretty spot on. Her magical powers are also left cleverly ambiguous. 'K' is the title of the story. I probably should have made that clear. Especially as the trade is called Kryptonite instead. Ah thanks, no wonder you were going nuts over kryptonite. I do rather like him as a write. I didn't mind Hush to be honest. Sure, it felt like a bit of a whistle-stop tour of the Bat-mythos at times, but the Riddler twist at the end, and I guess you could consider Hish himself as the first of the modern 'personal attack' villains. I like him too, but I think he needs to write a story that doesn't involve every damn villain. Don't get me wrong Hush was a lot of fun and still quite good (Two-Face giving him lead poisoning at the end for the win! ), I just didn't like how predictable Hush's alter ego turned out to be or how rushedly brought in Bruce's child friend was. However, the riddler twist was great, the fact that they made Riddler forget this in a recent Detective Comics run makes my blood boil, it was so cool that e knew the truth but couldn't tell...... Disappointing that you've not found the film. Those bits are probably the ones that everyone remembers, just because they're so OTT. And I mean, the Penguin-sub was just awesome in and of itself. Unbelievably so, I love that sub. I'll probably buy it on the weekend. i have to take care of my money however, I plan on seeing TDK again with my soon-to-be girlfriend, who wants to see it Tongihts episode was a special one. I love Green Hornet, they're making a movie of him soon with Seth Rogen in the lead role, heard about it? You know, you really should have gone into comedy. You're wasted as you are... Oh shutup! I'll take it as a compliment anyway. Elseworlds would be nice, they're always worth a read. Of course, with the 52 earths now, there are only a few left to fill. But never mind.Scarecrow does have a sort of origin, in that he delved into the study of fear after he was tormented by bullies as a younger man. Ivy has bits of an origin, both with and without Jason "The Floronic Man" Woodrue, and the best that Mad Hatter has is Robin: Year One. The Harvey Dent thing sounds pretty good. All we've got is a bit in Year One and then TLH. Oh I forgot, that is the one thing I cannot stand in comics! Can't someone just write a decent story that is far different without it being part of all those flipping earths? Have you read Gotham By Gaslight? It's a very cool read. Oh yes, but I mean a definitive tale of his first appearance and battle with the Batman. We have Year One and then TLH which suddenly has all these rogues. We need a couple of stories jammed in between that tell Batman's first meetings and feelings toward these menaces. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Maybe.... *checks birth certificate* , BTAS makes note of this in the Grey Ghost ep, which was a nice touch. I believe he's on Family Guy nowadays, though I wouldn't know, I never cared for that show. He is. I don't much care for the show either, but after a quick information check he's playing a version of himself called Mayor Adam West. I also discovered he's apparantly done voice work for The Fairly OddParents, Kim Possible and Goosebumps... where he plays a fading superhero on the verge of retirement. So, not at all typecast. Don't you hate that? My mum also does that a lot, you finally think they're done and all they're doing is changing the connection point! It is annoying. But I'm one of those guys who actually kind of likes doing the hoovering. You know, it's a gadget after all... The episode isn't brilliant but i quite like it as it reveals a bit more of Bruce's training and Zatanna's personality is pretty spot on. Her magical powers are also left cleverly ambiguous. And it's Zatanna. I like him too, but I think he needs to write a story that doesn't involve every damn villain. Supergirl: Power didn't have every DCU villain in it. True, it had every DCU hero in, but not every villain. However, the riddler twist was great, the fact that they made Riddler forget this in a recent Detective Comics run makes my blood boil, it was so cool that e knew the truth but couldn't tell...... I mentioned that casually to my dad when watching one of the 60s Riddler stories... and he couldn't fathom it. He couldn't understand how it stopped Riddler from telling everyone. i have to take care of my money however, I plan on seeing TDK again with my soon-to-be girlfriend, who wants to see it Oh, damn you. I love Green Hornet, they're making a movie of him soon with Seth Rogen in the lead role, heard about it? I've heard bits, yeah. To be honest, I've never really come across the Green Hornet, but the more I look into him, the more I start to like him. Frankly though, it's worth it for the Black Beauty. Infra-green headlights! Oh I forgot, that is the one thing I cannot stand in comics! Can't someone just write a decent story that is far different without it being part of all those flipping earths? I still prefer this modern multiverse to the old one, that explained away the Golden Age. Never did like that idea. Then it started to get confusing... Have you read Gotham By Gaslight? It's a very cool read. I haven't sadly, I can't seem to find it. Anywhere. Seriously, I've never seen it in either the library or a bookshop. We have Year One and then TLH which suddenly has all these rogues. And as if by magic... And I'm back. Sorry, I just got a bit distracted and ended up dancing around my room. I recall him on Fairly Off Parents and Kim Possible, the latter had him as a Batman Beyond/60's Batman spoof "The Fearsome Ferret" who had tretired from fighting crime, only to find out later it was only a TV show the whole time. It is annoying. But I'm one of those guys who actually kind of likes doing the hoovering. You know, it's a gadget after all... Yeah, I kinda understand. I do like our new vacuum machine, its bubbly! And it's Zatanna. Oh yes, how could I forget? No, literally, how could I? The episode is called Zatanna. Supergirl: Power didn't have every DCU villain in it. True, it had every DCU hero in, but not every villain. He is quite good at writing them though. I just wish he would write a Batman story that isn't a big mystery with a mysterious killer with mysterious motives. But again I say, Hush had a sweet ending, I plan on buying it sometime, but today i'm ordering Catwoman: When In Rome. It has one of my favourite Joker pictures ever in it: I mentioned that casually to my dad when watching one of the 60s Riddler stories... and he couldn't fathom it. He couldn't understand how it stopped Riddler from telling everyone. Really? My brother understands. I really felt that should've stayed like that, Riddler couldn't tell, which means that their encounters after that would've been very interesting indeed, and given a boost in Riddler stories. But then they put him in a coma, how cheap! Now even you, who loves the newer comic, must admit that's silly. Oh, damn you. Indeed, you must have someone special right? I've heard bits, yeah. To be honest, I've never really come across the Green Hornet, but the more I look into him, the more I start to like him. Frankly though, it's worth it for the Black Beauty. Infra-green headlights! I still prefer this modern multiverse to the old one, that explained away the Golden Age. Never did like that idea. Then it started to get confusing... Yeah, i'll agree with that. That's what'll happen to this 'verse one day too, and they'll start over. Plus it also started up all these crisises and made newer fans to comics almost impossible with people quoting all the 52 earths and their inhabitants. I still plan to get my friend in though, he likes reading and I might try and get him to read TLH. I haven't sadly, I can't seem to find it. Anywhere. Seriously, I've never seen it in either the library or a bookshop. I can't find it either, but apparently my mum's university bookstore can order it, so someday.... And as if by magic...And I'm back. There's also someone else who liked me, and I liked her. But she said she wasn't looking for anything serious when I asked her out, so... Who doesn't love Infra Green lights? Do they actually have that car on the 60's show? He's a bit campy, but in a cool way. Oh yeah, the Black Beauty was in. It made a brief appearance in the Batman cross-over, but only really brief. And we only saw the front half of the car. The best thing about the Green Hornet though? Those ridiculously simple costumes he and Kato wore. A green suit, a green hat and a mask made from a pair of sunglasses. Then Kato wore a driver's uniform, and the same type of mask. Yeah, i'll agree with that. He's all too easily forgotten sometimes. Which Joker picture would that be? Very good point, he is good at that. Here is the Joker pic, I love how he is "playing dog" chasing Catwoman. I will agree with you there, it was better that he knew. Especially now he's supposedly gone straight, with his private detective agency. I love that, especially this line concerning his presence in the Batmobile: "Huh, nice car. First time I've been in it conscious." The writers have stated he'll be back to his old ways, but i do hope he takes his time, I quite like this angle. And if he does change back, I hope this agency is part of some briliant scheme. Well... sort of. There is this one girl who I quite like...There's also someone else who liked me, and I liked her. But she said she wasn't looking for anything serious when I asked her out, so... Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 G'Day. Sorry to intrude on your pleasant conversation, but I was wondering if you could explain to me some of the stuff from the Crisis on Multiple Earths storyline arc. I just have two questions: 1) Is Jason Todd dead? Because it seems to me like he returns during the story arc. 2)Why don't we see an alternate Batman? Mmmm, on a related note, I just saw TDK again last night, and was wondering: do ether of you think there is a possibility of a return of Two-Face (kind of like the Harry Osbourne thing in the first Spiderman - while we see the funeral, we don't see the body)? I do think so, seeing as in the Halloween storyline arc (the one after the Holiday Killer) Two-Face has been put in Arkham;so, they might incorporate him in that in the same way. Thanks in advance. And if he does change back, I hope this agency is part of some briliant scheme. I am missing the riddles a bit though. He doesn't really get much of a chance to use them now. Still, like you say, it's a nice take on the character. It's always good to try something a little different. Q: "What weighs six ounces, sits in a tree and is very dangerous?" A: "A sparrow with a machine gun." Don't you hate that? Yeah, I just have to get this girl's number, I had the perfect opportunity at after work the other day (she works with me) but then my mum walks in to picl me up! Sorry, but that's really quite funny. In a cruel way, sure, but still funny. I get round it by making friends with them first, get their number as a friend, then ask them out. Ah thanks, I do love their simple costumes. I don't know a whole lot about them either but I believe they are somewhat detectives yes? From what I've learned, the Green Hornet is newspaper publisher Britt Reid (who is related to the Lone Ranger, I think he's his grand-nephew or something), and Kato is Reid's manservent. Called Kato. Yes, that's right, his codename is his real name. The only people who know (in the series) are Reid's secretary and the Police Commissioner. But he was introduced near the end, and his secretary didn't know from the beginning. Because the Green Hornet is a vigilante, he became thought of as a criminal. Reid decided to use this, and masquarades as a criminal in order to expose gangs and rackets and such. Don't, there is a fine line between geeky and dateless. Can you send it again please? I haven't got it. Plus you really should tell me as I never look at my emails Sure. I'll send it today. BTW, have you read Gotham Central? I want to know how it is. Some. If you like your crime fiction, then it's a good read. I think Rucka's written some crime fiction, so some of that experience seeped into the stories. 1) Is Jason Todd dead? Because it seems to me like he returns during the story arc. In A Death In The Family, the Joker killed Jason Todd. Good, I thought. Because I hate him. Then in Hush years later, Jason is seemingly returned from the dead and fights Batman, but it is revealed that that is actually Clayface. But where's the body gone? Shortly after, in As The Crow Flies Batman gets a dose of natural Fear Gas from the Scarebeast, the mutated form of the Scarecrow. He halucinates and fights Robin (Tim) believing him to be and older Jason. At the close of the story, Alfred finds a domino mask in the Batmobile that doesn't belong to Tim... The story culminates in Under The Hood, where the new Red Hood tackles Black Mask's ruling of the Gotham mobs. He uses vigilante methods and isn't afraid to kill. The Red Hood also beats the Joker with a crowbar. A fight with Batman reveals the new Red Hood to be Jason Todd. Batman conducts DNA tests that prove conclusive. Regardless, Batman keeps the costume in the Cave. Bad, I thought. I hate him. In Infinite Crisis (the second crisis), it is revealed that Superman and Lois Lane of Earth-2, Alexander Luthor of Earth-3 and Superboy-Prime of Earth-Prime survived the restructuring of the Multiverse into one universe at the close of the first Crisis, the Crisis on Infinite Earths/Multiple Earths. They've watched over the DCU for years, and seen it spiral downwards from the promising start- Superman's death, Knightfall, Jason's death, etc. Angry, Superboy-Prime began punching at the walls of their pocket reality, in an attempt to break through to the DCU and 'make the world better.' Each of his punches, however, had a knock-on effect on the main DCU, changing times, and explaining away all the retcons and inconsistencies. That included the resurrection of Jason Todd, now as a young adult. 2)Why don't we see an alternate Batman? There are alternate Batmen, all across the Multiverse, just as there are alternate Supermen, Wonder Women, etc. We don't see alternate Batmen in either crisis because the Earth-2 Batman died before the Crisis happened on his wrld. He married Selina Kyle (Catwoman), they had a daughter called Helena who became the Earth-2 Huntress, then he passed away. Mmmm, on a related note, I just saw TDK again last night, and was wondering: do ether of you think there is a possibility of a return of Two-Face (kind of like the Harry Osbourne thing in the first Spiderman - while we see the funeral, we don't see the body)? Well, at no point is it explicitly stated whether he's dead or alive at the end, so we may well see him return if there's another film. I think I'm going to see TDK again tonight, in fact. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) Oh yes, I remember it now. Thanks for reminding me. Huh, I have to buy that now as well... Okay, so I'm really happy right now, as the Joker story edition I ordered is the one with the famous Joker Boner story! You've read bits off Superdickery right? I am missing the riddles a bit though. I was talking to my half batfan friend yesterday and him and I are huge riddler fans, and we agred that when writing his dialog a lot of what he says should have some sort of deeper or double meaning. Now love that riddle you posted, but it still doesn't make much sense Sorry, but that's really quite funny. In a cruel way, sure, but still funny. I get round it by making friends with them first, get their number as a friend, then ask them out. It is admittingly quite funny, but still quite crushing. You take that route, I take a more direct one (besides I don't know her friends so I'll have to know her first anyway). Still, I share a shift this Saturday so hopefully.... Anyway, I do recall that they have a sort of noirish style in their stories don't they? I recall several pictures used as inspiration for the movie. I quite liked that one actually... Sure. I'll send it today. Thanks, it came in this time, am I to give suggestions or is that still void? I'll get round ot reading it today anyhow. Some. If you like your crime fiction, then it's a good read. I think Rucka's written some crime fiction, so some of that experience seeped into the stories. Thanks, I'm trying to keep my eye on the ball so far with the early years, but I'm also planning on the classics as well, such as the Killing Joke. The one thing I can't stand though is that almost half the Graphic Novel comics released are Joker stories. Which btw is the stupidest, most moronic, silliest, uneducated, ridiculous and idiotic cop out ever. Period. Dick Grayson IS Nightwing, Tim Drake IS Robin, and Jason Todd IS DEAD! Well, at no point is it explicitly stated whether he's dead or alive at the end, so we may well see him return if there's another film. I think I'm going to see TDK again tonight, in fact. I really, really hope he returns. Contrary to belief that this would ruin TDK's plot and point, it would actually turn the coin and flip it to the other side. Harvey is the hero, Batman the wanted, yet when the public finds out Harvey is still alive (Gordon had him locked in arkham under a different alias and shaved his hair etc. Hey, if Gordon can fake dead, so can Two-Face) and that he is executing his own justice upon Gotham (killing off all gangsters and establishing his own "fair" rule like in Dark Victory), they are lost. Step in Batman, who by the end of the film must realise he has to become Gotham's hero, even if he is no Harvey Dent, because with no hero at all, Gotham falls. And Catwoman and Penguin are in there too. Batbrick Away! Edited August 14, 2008 by Batbrick Quote

Batbrick Posted August 15, 2008 Author Posted August 15, 2008 Oh God, yes. Why on earth did they put that one in? Because it's hilarious! "Make fun of my boner will they? I'll give more boners than they can handle!" I don't think it ever will... Doesn't take away from Frank Gorshin though, such manic energy with him. Plus his riddler suit wasn't as skin tight as Jim Carrey's Oh, I used the plural where I really shouldn't have. I meant make friends with her, and get her number as a friend first. I'd say it with the plural, and I type as I talk.Good luck though. Ah, I see. no, I've done that, we trained together last November and have been what you may or may not call flirting recently. Me, I wouldn't call it such, we just get along and enjoy each other's humour. Plus, she's shorter than me, and I like that, as I'm not overly tall myself. Well... yeah. But I did also watch the opening titles on Youtube.Well... they're dealing with crime rackets, so I'd imagine there to be a certain amount of noir to it. Just watched the intro, man that tune is great! I can't stop listening to it! On the downside though, it made me truly realise how random a "Green hornet" is Yeah, so did I actually. My biggest problem was the parallels between Taylor and Sylar were a bit too strong for me, and I also feel you need to have a couple of panels with two people talking, most have just one character speaking. Do love the unveiling of the powers though, gives a real slick team feeling. And yes please, I'd love to read the 4th and 5th parts. I actually cam out of the pictures assuming he was alive, because they wouldn't kill Two-Face, would they? Went to see it a second time last night, with my mate, loved it. It's such a great film. I assume so too, and I hope he gets a second chance in a second sequel so he can get his second appearance. Did you like it more the second time round? I know I'll probably see it a third time if this girl watches it with me. Oh, and by the way, I went into town again to find the Batman 66 film. Still no luck, but on the gas station on the way back my big sister needed fuel so I looked at the DVD rack and spotted Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman BTAS movie. Now, I'll be frank, it's my least favourite of the animated movies, but Penguin is still cool, it has a nice Catwoman short and good for completions sake. Plus it means my Batman DVD collection looks even more cool. Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Because it's hilarious! "Make fun of my boner will they? I'll give more boners than they can handle!" How times have changed... Doesn't take away from Frank Gorshin though, such manic energy with him. Plus his riddler suit wasn't as skin tight as Jim Carrey's Indeed. On both counts. Plus Gorshin gave us the first use of the green Riddler-style suit. The modern costume, that is. Ah, I see. no, I've done that, we trained together last November and have been what you may or may not call flirting recently. Me, I wouldn't call it such, we just get along and enjoy each other's humour. Plus, she's shorter than me, and I like that, as I'm not overly tall myself. My mate calls anything flirting. Seriously, all any of us need do is open our mouths in someone else's presence and he says we're flirting. And I know what you mean about height. But then, I am quite tall, so it's not really a problem I come across. Just watched the intro, man that tune is great! I can't stop listening to it! On the downside though, it made me truly realise how random a "Green hornet" is A jazz version of Flight Of The Bumblebee. How inspired! Unfortunately, it applies to us. Or, if i get lucky, just you. Yes, alright, no need to keep reminding me. I like the second part. The first was bit better I felt, but this was good nonetheless. Thanks. But I think we'd better shift this to PM, and you can give me your thoughts there. Like you did with #1. We wouldn't want to take this thread too off-topic, ould we? Did you like it more the second time round? I know I'll probably see it a third time if this girl watches it with me. I did. The first time I was spotting all the little comics references and the like. This time, I got to just sit back and watch, with fanboy-mode turned off. Well, I got to relax until about half an hour from the end when I realised I hadn't checked I had enough for the bus fare home. It was 11:00pm. Yeah? Was it on offer? I might have to look into collecting the movies as well then, if I can find them. I bet HMV has them... Quote
Batbrick Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 How times have changed... Indeed. On both counts. Plus Gorshin gave us the first use of the green Riddler-style suit. The modern costume, that is. When was that? The Riddler eps take up a large portion of what I've seen from the series, yet I haven't seen him wear it. Reminds me of Knightfall, when in an early issue Nygma is wearing the slick green suit, then next time we see him he's adopted something a bit more...er...form fitting. My mate calls anything flirting. Seriously, all any of us need do is open our mouths in someone else's presence and he says we're flirting. I find that funny for some reason: "Hey" "Hey" "FLIRTING!" Oh gosh, there is simply too much comedy in here. Actually, I worked with her again today, and in the most fortunate of ironies, she said she will go see it with me. The irony being that since she finished her shift earlier than me, SHe got MY phone number, not the other way round. Now i'll have to put up with that "make the guy wait" cliche. And I know what you mean about height. But then, I am quite tall, so it's not really a problem I come across. Not saying I'm tiny, just that my friends are huge. Tow of them seriously could stare down Darth Vader! A jazz version of Flight Of The Bumblebee. How inspired! Inspired indeed, I couldn't get that out of my head during work, and I didn't want to! Yes, alright, no need to keep reminding me. I have to make myself feel better than someone don't I? Besides, you know comics better than me, so I have to be better at something than you! Thanks. But I think we'd better shift this to PM, and you can give me your thoughts there. Like you did with #1. We wouldn't want to take this thread too off-topic, ould we? Good idea, I'll let you send first, I want to see those issues if that's okay with you. Though you are wrong about the off topic thing, considering you once quoted (from memory): "We're so off topic that we've come right round the back of it are on topic again!" I did. The first time I was spotting all the little comics references and the like. This time, I got to just sit back and watch, with fanboy-mode turned off. Well, I got to relax until about half an hour from the end when I realised I hadn't checked I had enough for the bus fare home. It was 11:00pm. Did you have enough? Good to see you enjoyed it, since I'm going a third time. I still love ol' Face, even if you show massive disregard for his awesome twin .45 pistols. Aaron Eckhart did him proud, I do love how TDK was more of an ensemble piece too, Maggie did a better job than Katie don't you think? Yeah? Was it on offer? I might have to look into collecting the movies as well then, if I can find them. I bet HMV has them... Definitely go for it. Mask of the Phantasm is tied with TDK as my favourite Batman movie. TDK may have a smarter story, and a darker one at that, but MOTP is an a perfect translation of the comics batman with the style and tragedy of Bruce Wayne that even TDK lacks. Btw, how are your Lego projects going? I'm still waiting on Arkham Asylum to be finished. As for me, I plan to unleash Bat Mocs'N'Mods treat 4 soon, but for now I'm trying to keep my Iceberg Lounge topic alive. I tell you, Lego Licenses is the most criminally underrated forum here. I laso am working on the second season of II, which once the first moc is finished, will be taken apart for my Wayne Manor Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 The first Red Hood being the Joker (pre-chemicals) from The Killing Joke, yes? Yes. If that's the Joker's cosen origin story on that given day, that is. An Stephanie Brown IS...didn't she replace Robin or something? Her father is the Cluemaster, a criminal who basically stole Riddler's gimmick. Unfortunately he's not very good at it, and always gets caught. Anyway, Steph turned to crime-fighting as Spoiler to thwart her father's crime career (spoil it, if you will). Batman refused to endorse her, but Tim started helping her in secret, giving her equipment and help. They became close, and entered into a relationship, but Tim refused to reveal his real identity. He also helped her when she became pregnant by an ex-boyfriend, and she decided to give him up for adoption. Shortly after, Tim went missing in the mountains somewhere, and a concerned Steph helped Batman track him down. But Batman had to reveal Tim's identity in order for her to do so. Tim was a little cross, but soon got over it, and the relationship continued. Jack Drake, Tim's father, found out his son was Robin, and forced Tim to quit and Bruce to accept it (at gunpoint, no less). Batman was without a Robin, and Steph volunteered herslf. After some initial disapproval from Batman, he accepted her, seeing that he could at the very least train her to be a better crimfighter. It was suggested that he took her in only to make Tim jealous (his girlfriend stole his job). She proved a mostly able Robin, but in a battle with the dangerous armoured assassin Scarab she directly disobeyed his orders. He told her to wait in the Batplane whatever happend, while he took on Scarab. Steph saw that Batman was in danger, and left to help him. Scarab took Steph as a hostage, and made her escape while Batman rescued her. Batman then fired her as Robin, and forbade her from being Spoiler, especially in his city. In an attempt to win back Batman's approval, she implemented one of his 'War Games', a scenario designed to unite the Gotham mobs under the control of one man: Matches Malone, secretly Batman. She set up the meeting designed in the plan, but Matches didn't show. She didn't know that Matches was actually Batman. Tensions escalated, and one of the mob bosses was killed by the others. A full-scale gang war erupted across Gotham, which led to Batman being disavowed by then-Commissioner Michael Akins, when Batman took over the GCPD. In the course of the war, Black Mask took Steph hostage and tortured her. She escaped and made her way to Leslie Thompkin's clinic, where she later died from her internal injuries, but not before Batman told her that she was Robin. In the course of the war, Tim returned as Robin, and shortly after he lost his dad to Captain Boomerang and his best friend Superboy to Superboy-Prime. Anyway, Batman discovered that Steph could have survived if she'd had proper treatment, but Leslie withheld it and let Steph die in an attempt to show Batman that drafting kids into his war is dangerous. Batman told her to get out of the city, and not come back. However, it recently transpired that Steph was actually alive, and Leslie had only faked her death. Her identity exposed by Black Mask, she was in danger from the other Bat-villains. Leslie did it to try to help Steph (and Batman to a certain extent), and took her to Africa when she left Gotham at Batman's behest. Batman revealed he had lingering doubts about whether Steph had actually died, and that's why he never (save a few occasions) had a trophy for her in the Cave. Um... that was actually all from memory. When was that? The Riddler eps take up a large portion of what I've seen from the series, yet I haven't seen him wear it. His very first episode (and the first of the series) he wears a green and purple suit and tie for a bit. Actually, I worked with her again today, and in the most fortunate of ironies, she said she will go see it with me. The irony being that since she finished her shift earlier than me, SHe got MY phone number, not the other way round. Now i'll have to put up with that "make the guy wait" cliche. It's funny how things work out isn't it. 'Best laid plans' and all that. Not saying I'm tiny, just that my friends are huge. Tow of them seriously could stare down Darth Vader! I'm hardly small at around 6ft, but one of my mates is 6'2" and most of the others are a similar height to me. It's funny, most of my family are quite small... Besides, you know comics better than me, so I have to be better at something than you! Aw, thanks. Case in point, just above. Good idea, I'll let you send first, I want to see those issues if that's okay with you. Though you are wrong about the off topic thing, considering you once quoted (from memory):"We're so off topic that we've come right round the back of it are on topic again!" Yes, that's very true. Anyway, I've sent #3, #4 and #5 so check your emails. There're also a slew of accompanying notes. I... um... kind of had to borrow 50p. She did, I agree. She wasn't quite as, what's the word, drippy this time around. I've got that taped somewhere, I really need to dig it out and watch it sometime. Btw, how are your Lego projects going? I'm still waiting on Arkham Asylum to be finished. Arkham has stalled temporarily, for no apparant reason. The Batcave hasn't progressed much either. Then again, I am currently working on a special MOC that'll serve as a sort of tribute to my friends, but in a really OTT, fun, silly way. And don't worry, a certain comic-geek who dresses like a bat will make a small appearance. As for me, I plan to unleash Bat Mocs'N'Mods treat 4 soon, but for now I'm trying to keep my Iceberg Lounge topic alive. I tell you, Lego Licenses is the most criminally underrated forum here. I laso am working on the second season of II, which once the first moc is finished, will be taken apart for my Wayne Manor I thought you'd done 4 already? Because you're one ahead of me, so this next one will be 5. Won't it? As for Wayne Manor, I can't wait to see it. Doubly so, as I'll likely never get round to making one of my own. If I did it'd have to go on top of the Batcave, and then it'd be ridiculously big to not look out of place, and would need to be quite high up to allow room for the Batplane on the top shelf. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) His very first episode (and the first of the series) he wears a green and purple suit and tie for a bit. Nice, the show is so underrated in modern batman fans, the riddler's plan in this is genuinely intelligent and he is portrayed almost perfectly: a man obsessed with outwitting Batman and leaving lcues. It's funny how things work out isn't it. 'Best laid plans' and all that. Well it's working out in an unusual manner, once the ball gets rolling and all that. Just need to figure out a date (as in day) and how much the ticket and food will cost me! I'm hardly small at around 6ft, but one of my mates is 6'2" and most of the others are a similar height to me. It's funny, most of my family are quite small... Heh, I've on idea of height, but I'm fairly average. This girl is shorter so that's a win, but my friend (who we call "Big Bird") is so tall it's actually quite scary. Case in point, just above. Amusingly enough, I knew all that. I read the series in which she died (War something I think) and the one in which she returns in purple garb. She gives Tim a rather...erm...welcome reception, proving the boy wonder is no girl! Then Tim is a little spiteful after Batman confesses in front of the two that he suspected she was alive following the fight involving the three (in which they didn't know her identity yet). Yes, that's very true. Anyway, I've sent #3, #4 and #5 so check your emails. There're also a slew of accompanying notes. Thanks, I'll read them tomorrow, and get back to you. Shall I embolden the changes and place reasons in brackets or something? I think that would be most effective. I... um... kind of had to borrow 50p. Oh dear. She did, I agree. She wasn't quite as, what's the word, drippy this time around. Hehe, for a bit in Begins I thought SHE was Two-Face the way one half sagged! I've got that taped somewhere, I really need to dig it out and watch it sometime. Go for it after watching season 2. No chronology needed, but I know how much you love to watch them in order. No apparent reason eh? I know how that works, you get tired huh? And for some reason it took a while to figure out who the certain comic-geek who dresses like a bat was I thought you'd done 4 already? Because you're one ahead of me, so this next one will be 5. Won't it? Oh, maybe that is it. Oh well, I've planned acouple of amusing vignettes for that and for our Brainbox/Batbrick special, is that still going ahead? As for Wayne Manor, I can't wait to see it. Doubly so, as I'll likely never get round to making one of my own. If I did it'd have to go on top of the Batcave, and then it'd be ridiculously big to not look out of place, and would need to be quite high up to allow room for the Batplane on the top shelf. Thanks very much, I can't wait to make it. May I ask you a favour? I'd very much like to get your opinion on what it should look like and what it should include? Maybe give suggestions for it like I've given suggestions for your comic? I want to include all the little comic tidbits, and get the look right. It'll be tan, which I think will work best. Can you do that please? Batbrick Away! Edited August 17, 2008 by Batbrick Quote
Brainbox Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) Nice, the show is so underrated in modern batman fans, the riddler's plan in this is genuinely intelligent and he is portrayed almost perfectly: a man obsessed with outwitting Batman and leaving lcues. As the Joker points out in the film. He makes note of Riddler always leading the Dynamic Duo to the crime by leaving his stupid riddles everywhere. Well it's working out in an unusual manner, once the ball gets rolling and all that. Just need to figure out a date (as in day) and how much the ticket and food will cost me! Because of course Lego comes first, before anythng else. Then comics and comic-related merchandise, then girls. She became Robin in War Drums, then 'died' in War Games (I believe I recommended it a few pages back). She's been coming back across the titles recently, in Robin and Gotham Underground among others. It was perhaps a little cruel of Bats to not tell Tim his girlfriend might be ALIVE! Thanks, I'll read them tomorrow, and get back to you. Shall I embolden the changes and place reasons in brackets or something? I think that would be most effective. Cheers mate. If you think that's a good way to do it, then please do. Perhaps you could do it in a different colour, so I can see what's changed (not red or blue though). If you want to do all three together, then do. If you'd rather do one at a time, and send them one at a time, that's also fine. Hehe, for a bit in Begins I thought SHE was Two-Face the way one half sagged! Go for it after watching season 2. No chronology needed, but I know how much you love to watch them in order. Speaking of, I've just watched Mad as a Hatter. Another good episode, and I see that Dini reused some of the ideas here in a recent issue of Detectivve Comics. In it, Mad Hatter sets up a Wonderland Gang with Tweedledum and Tweedledee to commit crimes, recruiting heavy muscle and the like and dressing them up as Wonderland characters. It transpires that Dee and Dum actually used Mad Hatter's own mind control circuitry on him, to get him to 'lead' them, but the basic idea's still there. Anyway, it's a slightly different interpretation of the character, which is kind of nice. I think I prefer the comics look of the character, but this one isn't bad. Still, a nice episode, and it means I've almost finished Vol.1. Oh well, I've planned acouple of amusing vignettes for that and for our Brainbox/Batbrick special, is that still going ahead? Sure. I've not had any chance to work on anything yet, but I've got one idea lined up (not a vig for once), and I'm sure I can come up with some more. I'd be happy to. I assume you want to include as much stuff from as many different media as possible? In that case, like I've done with my Batcave, I'll trawl back through all my comics and find anything from Wayne Manor that I can. I'll also have a browse of the Internet, see if I can find anything else. Put more than one Batcave entrance in as well, from different media. I think tan will be fine. It's usually either shown as tan or grey-white, and personally I think tan looks better. To the comic shelf! Edited August 17, 2008 by Brainbox Quote
Batbrick Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 As the Joker points out in the film. He makes note of Riddler always leading the Dynamic Duo to the crime by leaving his stupid riddles everywhere. Exactly! Which is why the stories in the media when he uses the riddles to his advantage are quite cool. Then again, his riddlers due to his obsession are equally good, see episode Riddelr's Reform of BTAS or Hush ending. Burned by his own genius really. Because of course Lego comes first, before anythng else. Then comics and comic-related merchandise, then girls. Maybe for you! I'm trying to even up the playing field for comics recently, since I've got a job I've done the smart thing and NOT saved for a car but instead caught up on BTAS and the comics naturally Now my sisters are getting all annoying saying iu should save up for a car, I don't want to! Yeah, though I thought he took it pretty well, a bit too well really. I'm over her as Robin really, just keep Tim writers, is it that hard? Cheers mate. If you think that's a good way to do it, then please do. Perhaps you could do it in a different colour, so I can see what's changed (not red or blue though). If you want to do all three together, then do. If you'd rather do one at a time, and send them one at a time, that's also fine. Yeah, that'd work, I'll get editing on them later today I think. It may take a couple of days you understand, is that fine? Speaking of, I've just watched Mad as a Hatter. Another good episode, and I see that Dini reused some of the ideas here in a recent issue of Detectivve Comics. In it, Mad Hatter sets up a Wonderland Gang with Tweedledum and Tweedledee to commit crimes, recruiting heavy muscle and the like and dressing them up as Wonderland characters. I think I prefer the comics look of the character, but this one isn't bad. Still, a nice episode, and it means I've almost finished Vol.1. I like the comic look better myself too, he reverts back to it when the style changes for volume four. But you have to admit atleast he makes a bit more sense in it, mad as a hatter still but motive is there, as opposed to waving the pedophilic flag everyone seems to be doing with the character recently. He has a great ep next season, I kind of feel sorry for the poor fella. Sure. I've not had any chance to work on anything yet, but I've got one idea lined up (not a vig for once), and I'm sure I can come up with some more. Nice, I have a quite funny idea that will be soon done. After IA. And Bat Mocs'N'Mods I'd be happy to. I assume you want to include as much stuff from as many different media as possible? In that case, like I've done with my Batcave, I'll trawl back through all my comics and find anything from Wayne Manor that I can. I'll also have a browse of the Internet, see if I can find anything else. Put more than one Batcave entrance in as well, from different media.I think tan will be fine. It's usually either shown as tan or grey-white, and personally I think tan looks better. To the comic shelf! Thanks, you should adopt that last bit as your sign off! I'd really appreciate that, I want ot include the batphone and maybe the batpoles, but the grandfather entrance is the biggie. It'll just be very hard to do in an open playset. Batbrick Away! Quote
