Can you substitute the half bushes and the band with two 8z gears and a chain? I wanna see if the second setup fit.

8z Gears can't drive chain links

Sadd

I've just come up with a way to eliminate the rubber band.

Replace wheel-to-engine gears in the swingarm with 12z-clutch 20z-12z. Now there is place for two 16z gears in the place of the two half bushes.

Well done TLG! Even I am not a motorbike enthusiast, I will for sure get this one. A good 3-in-1 for me; good functions, good looks, good parts :classic:

Found some more nice pictures here: http://motori.quotidiano.net/fashionwheels/curiositamondoauto/ducati-panigale-v4-r-lego-technic.htm

Looks a bit pregnant, but overall I believe it is well replicated within the constraints of Technic.

Also, I like the idea of the easy removable panels, to admire the heart of the machine (can be seen high res on LEGO website):

Look below the two red panels on the bottom right, you can see two black connectors that look like part 49731 (someone please correct me if I am mistaken) (a closer look shows that at least one may be a cross-axle connector)

Ah, I think those are just 32039.

One annoyance, I do wish lego would make a 3 pin connector again in black to replace that blue connector on non blue sets.

Yeah, especially now that TLG began using grown up men to advertise their recent, somewhat adult targeted, sets it is time to make a switch to adult black/grey pins.

And see how the flexible windscreen is added. With some sort of minifig utensil?

Looks like red katana sword or similar dagger (we see their handles)

@agrof

It does indeed look a tad bloated in the belly, but that front shot makes it look evil, like it is about to eat everything ahead of it alive.

I think the promotional shots with the bearded motorcycle guy are hilariously on point, the "subtle" duc helmet and motor jacket in the background. I think it is quite interesting that TLC is taking smaller sets like these and also targetting the Adult, non-AFOL market like they do with the UCS cars, i guess it worked well enough getting the Star Wars guys onto plastic crack, maybe the car/bike guys will also surrender to the danes

The top of the fueltank is made of this:

After the Top Gear car it is only the second set having this piece in red (both 2020 sets). Nice seeing a recolor in more than 1 set, very welcome in red.

The fact that we are missing a b-model is due to the set being licensed.

(The BMW had one but that aside)

Maybe @grohl will build us one, the same as he did with the Land Rover Defender.

Maybe HE is the reason why there's no Bmodel nowadays, why bother if there are someone who will make Bmodel w/o deadline.....

Why do they use a golden color for the new shock absorbers, whereas the rear shock absorber is still yellow?

ALSO:

42048 (small and cheap cart) and 42107 have gearboxes!

42077 (rally car) and 42096 (Porsche) don't have gearboxes...

I think it is really hard, if not impossible to put a mudguard for the front wheel. For it to be fixed in place, it must be mounted on either the shock absorbers or the axis, both of which don't really have free estate left.

The funny thing is with the Harley Davidson 10269 is a lot of non lego Harley people purchased and built the set that I know of, or where busy send me links and pictures as they know I like and collect lego.. ( well if you on this site admit it you have a lego problem. )  It will appeal to people who likes motorbikes but can't afford the real thing and really don't want a piddle metal cast model..  as to the promotional shots its like watching HSV fans roll up to race day all kitted out to look good when they are driving a Holden Barina

I wonder how the dampening effect will work?  springs, oil, air pressure?

I'd be surprised if it had oil in there, and pressurised air won't work on a kids toy. Maybe as simple as an O ring between the slider and fixed part just to slow the motion?
