The Executive Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I really like choice 1. The thought of finally having a palpy figure is nice, but I gotta go with choice 3, because a mon calamari cruiser set sounds much more fun. Quote
SuvieD Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Palpatines arrest will happen no matter what whether now from voting or in the future without. Calamari is the best option. Something in the $30-40 range would be great. Quote
maiq the liar Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I voted for choice 2 because i missed the last slave I. Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 IT'S A TWAP What the... But Mon Calamari for the win. Ackbar will make an interesting figure, this "Mon Mothma" I'm just learning about will probably be an overall unique figure, and as said before a Rebel Transport inside the ship and a hanger for an A-Wing, perhaps a squadron leader, in a different colouring. Smaller Rebel sets could be realeased to fill the hanger. Plus, the Rebel Scout Speeder would likely go perfectly with that set. We've not only got rebels, but another vehicle for them. The second's pointless, Cloud City in general wouldn't be too bad if it had some kind of actual improvement (over 2003's), but the Slave I's a joke. Two Twin Pod Cars, and some other kind of vehicles! A long, well built corridor? The first has too much Minifigure appeal in my opinion. Palpatine's office is unimportant, it's just the figures. No one's going to really use it, and what if it ends up like ULD from 2005? I love the figures, but it's digging it's own hole and just doesn't go with anything. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I voted for Option 3, mostly because I am a decidedly OT fan. Option 1 wouldn't be terrible, but I'd much prefer Ackbar over Palpatine et al. Something in the $30-40 range would be great. I might have been daydreaming, but wasn't the 10th Anniversary set supposed to be in the $150 USD range? Quote

I might have been daydreaming, but wasn't the 10th Anniversary set supposed to be in the $150 USD range? I don't think this is actually the 10th anniversary set. This is just a TRU exclusive. I imagine the 10th anniversary set will be quite a bit bigger than this one. Quote
filefolders Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 It's a trap!!! Oh, wait, nevermind, just the possibility of finnaly getting Ackbar!!! Nubmber three all the way! Quote
astoriabluelegos Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I don't even KNOW why number 2 is on there, it's nothing NEW, and therefore it'll probably win... Quote
Faramir Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I had to vote three. One is, like, what, just a room with Jedi? Choice three would finally give us something to fight against that Star Destroyer! Faramir Quote

Lt. Veers Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 An A-wing and a door? Well, we have to assume it will be similar to the Star Destroyer that was released a year and a half ago. Quote
Led ZePPelin Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Well, we have to assume it will be similar to the Star Destroyer that was released a year and a half ago. Cruiser Control Room and Hanger with A-wing It'll be more like the hoth door, I mean "base". Quote
OOM-9 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 As torn as I am between 1 and 3, I will vote for one because it has the most new figs. I admit I have been dying for a fleshie Palpy and all the Jedi are great. I wouldn't vote for number two because I have both the Cloud City set and all three iterations of the Slave I. I didn't pick three because it was 1 new fig vs 3, and because I fear another letdown like the Hoth Base that is focused around the A-Wing with a little control station thrown on just so they can include Ackbar. Quote
Bobskink Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I voted for Ackbar and his friends, but Palpatine's arrest looks good aswell, I think that one will win evetualy, people like Jedi's. I just hope we don't get another Slave 1 I'm sick of al the Boba Fett hype. Anyway, cool that they do this, fans must really apreciate this (but on the other hand be really frustradetd about what could have been) Quote
SWMAN Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 (edited) I guess Lego decided not to listen to what the fans wanted as choices. From what I had been reading, none of those were real options for what people wanted. I voted Mon Calamari. It has the ability to be a great size with cool stuff, and is not redudent. Still, Endor or the Jedi Temple would have been so much better. Edited May 11, 2008 by SWMAN Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Well, we have to assume it will be similar to the Star Destroyer that was released a year and a half ago. That's a big assumption. If they had intended the entire ship, they would've said so, not mentioning a hangar and control room. Quote
voltio Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I voted for choice two, since it was really the most original of the three. . . . . . . . . Not! In all seriousness, choice 3 was my favorite. A Mon Calamari head mold? Sign me up! Quote
hollisbrick Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I voted for option 2 because Boba rules!!!!!!! Quote
CF Mitch Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I voted for Palpatine's Arrest. I'm a huge PT fan, and I would really love a Palpatine & Mace Windu fig Choice #1 On !! Quote
Shadows Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 These choices reveal a lot, when analyzed properly, and I personally voted based on the best potential for new parts/minifigs. Take them individually. 1. The Arrest. Existing Kit and Mace, practically existing Emperor. Add one (or dare we hope, 2) new Jedi. No ships, no major play features except for a window to blow out. An exciting desk. Goes against everything LEGO traditionally aims for in a set. 2. Cloud City/Slave I. Lando, Lobot, Boba, Leia, Han, etc. No one new. Maybe, if you're really trying to make the fans happy, toss in an ugnaut, but mostly just a repeat. A lot of people missed Cloud City (I didn't, and I could tolerate a new room or two, at least, especially if it was designed similarly enough), but how many of us really need another Slave I? 3. Mon Cal Cruiser/Hangar/A-wing. The best potential for new figures. Ackbar, Mon Mothma, Crix Madine? I can't see them giving us that much in new figures, but we can dream. The rest can be rehashed from old sets. Another A-wing? Sure, but it's the only chance for new figures who honestly can't be made anywhere else. The Jedi could all be released in other sets, but Ackbar appears once, unless they go Expanded Universe. Bottom line, for me, #3 gives me the most that I won't get otherwise. That said, I'm confused a bit by the range of offerings, not because of what they are, but because of their likely prices. #1 sounds like a $30-40 set. How much office can you build? #2 could be anywhere from $70-150, depending on just how much Cloud City we're getting with that Slave I. #3 should top out at $100 to match the ISD, unless they go Hoth style and then it's cheaper. That part seems odd to me, maybe the only really odd part of the whole deal. The incredibly long wait for the announcement tells me that we can expect none of these items to appear individually before then, so if you've been hoping for any of the parts of this, plan to wait. I guess Lego decided not to listen to what the fans wanted as choices. Shall we mention again that this isn't even vaguely related to the 10th Anniversary set, so any requests made there are similarly unrelated? Plus, who knows what other channels they've used to find out what people want? The point is, they (TRU) are working on their own to come up with something and were presented with some options. They're trying to listen to the fans by having this survey. Be glad of that much. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 #3 should top out at $100 to match the ISD, unless they go Hoth style and then it's cheaper. A Mon Calamari Cruiser in Hoth style?! If so then I would be really angry ! - But I think that they meant a MCC in the style of the ISD - otherwise it would in my opinion make not much sense. Quote

I don't think the MCC would be in the style of the ISD, because the description of what this set would contain appears pretty clear to me in choice III. It says it will be a command center and a hangar with A-wing. If it were ISD style it would certainly get my vote over Palpatine's arrest, but it is most probably not. Quote
Oli212Lego Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I' voting for palpatines arest! Think of all the new figs! :skull: TO PALPATINE! Quote
Mace Windu Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I have a fealing that we are goingto get all of these sets eventually. Quote
