marvelBoy123 Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 *Your entry has earned 11 XP and has won the Sienar Corporation* Farantros narrative: After picking up Umzle on Deysum, I got back to the star destroyer. My contact had another mission for me this time on Rishi. He would talk to Umzle while I helped out on the ground. An Imperial Triumvirate shuttle had been disappeared over Rishi's swamps and it was suspected that it was an attack from a rebel group operating on the planet so I was sent in with a small team. Teeko was already on the group to meet me and my contact gave me the services of a Crimson Guard TIE Advanced X1. As a starship enthusiast, I must admit that it was an impressive starfighter: graceful and well balanced. It had been upgraded from the original TIE Advanced models - better armour, wing mounted weaponry and an awesome colour scheme. It would fly low over our patrol, using special imaging equipment to scan the landscape for any sign of the shuttle or its wreckage. http://IMG_20200126_184137637_HDR-01 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Tie Advanced x1 by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Spoiler Some more details of the TIE http://TIE Advanced X1 in detail by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Yes, that is the airjitzu spinner piece used for the hyperdrive. It is a pain to work with but it give a nice look in the end. http://TIE Advanced X1 in detail by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://TIE Advanced X1 in detail by marvelBoy123, on Flickr More shots of the build without the TIE http://Factions episode build on Rishi by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Factions episode build on Rishi by marvelBoy123, on Flickr http://Tree by marvelBoy123, on Flickr Never built a SNOT terraform baseplate or a SNOT tree so while being busy, I was an idiot enough to decide to build this alongside my other build and with a complicated TIE fighter so apologies if the storyline etc feels rushed As ever I appreciate your feedback! Ross Fisher Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Really nicely done. Your skills are improving! Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted January 30, 2020 Author Posted January 30, 2020 Thanks, it was a lot of new techniques for one build, but it came together nicely and I'm pleased with the end result! Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Nice TIE advanced - those colors almost feels like its a part of the new Sith Eternal fleet... ;) Quote
dvogon Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Nice small scene. I specially like the tree. I agree with @Darth Bjorn, it appears to be a Sith ship! Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I actually think the tree looks too squat when you add the brown arches on top. I would have used angled bricks or slopes to make the branches as the arches just feel tacked on. Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Yeah, it wasn't ideal but I didn't have much more dark brown or time so it was the best solution I had. I was worried that it if I didn't finish it, the shape might make it look like a weird rock formation. I think that I made the base a little too wide and then made the tree thinner much to quickly. Then again, I've never built a tree in this style before so for a first attempt I was pretty pleased - and it gives me still room to improve! Thanks for the feedback! Quote
