keymaker Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Any idea why there is so much going on near to the front axle? The ground clearance is minimal... Quote
MarkyMark42 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I can see this making it's way into my collection Quote
SamuelYsc Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 What happen to my replay... I mean the steering might work. Maybe it is connected to the HOG from the back not from the front axel. Quote

agrof Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 @SamuelYsc strange, you must probable just delete it and rewrite. Looks like a fun set, with LOT of tuning potential! Quote

Possibly yes, I see some space between the brake vacuum cylinder and the steering wheel - notice the big enough front panel, behind the hood. If I added some gears to engage the steering wheel, I would add them here, right behind the steering/drive shafts crossing and then go up to the steering wheel. It really reminds me more and more my attempt to make it, and many other fans' (more successful) MOCs. Indeed TLG were inspired by the number of them. Edited March 30, 2020 by Void_S Quote

Yes, but in one of pictures I see, that there are just different connectors or similar unter that panel (3L wide). Yes, and as mentioned, in side pictures there is something blue just behind the steering wheel. Quote

Awww, I see it too... remembering that those steering wheels never fit the full 1L axle length (it's about 4/5 of it only), it really could be the rest of just blue friction 2L axle-pin. Quote

Cumulonimbus Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) That is a quite good looking car, not that convinced by the way the waste line behind the doors has been modeled though. Bonus points for including front and rear suspension, a V8 engine, opening doors, hood and trunk, all in this relative compact scale. For me personally it is too similar to the modified 41999 I once made to purchase this one. Edit: looking at the images @Valkyx shared, I think the wheely function might be spring operated: I think I see another yellow spring in the top view. If so, I'm not sure how it could be activated. Void_S Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) Updating the features list: V8 engine made of old-school LBG blocks (how the classic Muscle car may have something different to old-school Big Block?) Connected to the rear wheels via the old diff. It's under the hood, hurray! Rear suspension (hard/yellow springs), live axle. Front suspension (hard/yellow springs), independent, double wishbones. Turobochargers's gear driven via chain - connected to the engine (and therefore the wheels). Wheelie stand, looks to be connected to the gearbox handle inside the cabin (fold/unfold action). Steering HOG knob behind the cabin, near the trunk lid. Steering wheel seems to not working here. 42041's Racing Truck tires Openable doors (the handles have no locks), hood, trunk A lot of black panels A lot of LBG connectors for an inner roll-cage Old-good "boat stud" headlights Edited March 30, 2020 by Void_S Quote

Parazels Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) It's way better, than the white Porsche, which I refused buying even for $80! Edited March 30, 2020 by Parazels Quote
Mechbuilds Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Can't wait till somebody figures out how to RC that thing.. It's going to be the one thing i won't disassemble. Perhaps put it in the living room for people to see. Quote

Bartybum Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 We might be getting a solid rear axle in this set :o Quote
Void_S Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 3 minutes ago, Bartybum said: We might be getting a solid rear axle in this set :o it is, it has a solid axle with old-style diff (for 3 12T gears). 25 minutes ago, sirslayer said: Rc mod for this model shouldn't be too hard.. Different styles, different times... Quote
