The Neighborhood Merchant Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Instant nostalgia. Love the design and the minifigures! The spikes for the raft is a very nice concept. Amazing build! I think I'm back in the dreamworld, Mr. Phez... Quote
Gen. Knowledge Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I like it a lot. Any images from the other side? Quote
Captain Dee Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Beautiful. What could've, should've, would've been... I'm counting 9 minifigs and a skeleton to go with 3 cannons, shark, parrot, and monkey. That sounds really good! And it shows what's possible with classic designs, without using the raised baseplates. Quote
Roody Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 This fits right in with the rest of the old pirates sets! Quote

Roadmonkeytj Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 From the sets that were never released ... Now the Armada flag ship has a destination! Quote
Captain Dee Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Yarr, this be lookin' better all the time, me hearties! The Armada "faction" was really just an appetizer. Something like this was just what that lineup needed. I'm liking it better than the old raised baseplate sets. Quote
Brickvergnugen Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Quite a fun design! The raising gate for row boat access is a great touch. What part is being used for the bars there? It looked like the arched gate door at first, but there's no middle studded section. Quote
Brickander Brickumnus Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 This is very good! Thanks for the pictures! Added to my MOC "Pirate Buildings" collection. Quote

Merlo Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Oh, yeah. I'd buy this :) It's not quite the same, but it still reminds me of a time when Lego designs had much fewer and often much larger pieces but sets looked cleaner. Quote

It does indeed honour the design style of the sets released in 1996-97, although this MOC is a bit more robust. The sets of that period were a lot more economical with the part count and tended to look some what flimsy. Nonetheless, it does fuel the speculation of what could have been, had the LEGO Group decided to continue Pirates a little longer an expand upon the Imperial Armada sub-theme. Quote
LegoMFP_David Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 What a great set! Lots of great little details, and would fit in with all the older pirate sets. Oh I wish Lego would bring the line back properly..... Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Beautiful render and amazing architecture! I like the monkey who took the sword! Quote
Elephant Knight Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 This is wonderful, looks so much like a set! Really wish Lego had released more than two sets for the Armada. EKnight Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Oh, I missed that one. And it is excellent. Thanks for bumping this topic Quote
