Nicotoa Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 *Your entry has earned 6 XP* With the the fall of the Empire following the batlle of Jakku, many Imperial starfighters found themselves on the black market, either selled by deserters, or stolen from remnants and selled anyway. That's how Johnar recently made acquisition of a Tie Interceptor, and repurposed it for his personnal use. He spent hours modifying the fighter, including installing a hyperdrive and shields generators. And he also given the left solar collector wing a blue paintjob, nicknaming his ship "Midnight Wanderer" More info and pictures in the spoilers tab: Spoiler I wanted to build this ship like a LEGO official model with its dreaded spring missiles, but with my own personnal touch. Midnight Wanderer front view : Cockpit interior : Top view : I wanted to use this technic piece into the build, and merged it into the hypedrive build. Being a smuggler's ship, it obviously have some hidden stuff : Pushing up the technic pin under the ship reveal a hidden storage crate. With it, he wanted to go back to a special place for him. Balmorran Arms Factory, his former workplace... Quote
Ross Fisher Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Those are some neat little play features. I'm worried that it will outclass the three TT Seinar builds! Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 A somewhat heavily modified Interceptor - Nice! I love the mini-factory you've made - that's an impressively accurate depiction of Balmora... Good Job! Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Nice TIE, reminds me a little of one made by rebel builder a few years ago. The back section especially is really good and I love the blue colour on the wings, it looks amazing! Not such a fan of how visible the technic pin is, but I guess that you are going for a lego set style. One thing that I am curious about is the use of brown bars at the back instead of grey, I guess that they could show age, but then again with how much modification Johnar has done, it seems unusual to leave some small rusty sections unpainted. dvogon Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Nice well proportioned TIE interceptor. I like the special modifications to the ship and the cargo mechanism. Simple but effective. The cockpit is also very nice. Quote
