Posted February 2, 20205 yr Let me introduce you to my latest creation. I put it on the Lego Ideas website : Dominoes box Play dominoes and lego at the same time ! This Lego set includes a small storage box and 28 dominoes. The box can be closed completely and the 28 dominoes can be easily stored on three levels, 8 dominoes at the bottom of the box and 10 dominoes on each of the other two levels. A play mat completes the set. This creation allows domino lovers to play and is a beautiful object for lovers of beautiful Lego creations. Thank you for your feedback :) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/cd68de34-2484-4a5e-b6d7-6bf2116f93d6 Dominoes box by Galerie d'Antha, sur Flickr Edited February 2, 20205 yr by Antha
February 2, 20205 yr That's a fun idea, and probably helps that you're using exiting prints for the dominoes. Not sure how practical this would be... I think the mat actually detracts from it as an Ideas project since it's not terribly interesting in its construction, adds piece count (and thus cost) and isn't really useful to the end consumer being just a large brown slab that has to live somewhere. I would suggest trying to make it more interesting in design or function somehow, or having it only for display purposes and not as part of the actual set proposal. Just my opinion, of course. Also, just to catch more attention, it might be fun if you include an image of additional play value (setting up and knocking down some dominoes in a pattern, maybe). For the dominoes themselves, did you use 2x2 inverted tiles to give both sides a nice smooth finish vs how regular plates would look when they're turned over?
February 3, 20205 yr I love this. I’m a big fan of “real” items being built in LEGO. I still do need to get my hands on the Maze set...and the Pop Up Book...and chess set that is still current. I do have Ship in a Bottle though!

Thanks Deraven for the comment :) I agree the carpet and its design are to be reviewed, I'm thinking about how to make it a more interesting element. Soon, I will add a picture with a finished domino game and for now I want to stay with this "traditional presentation". Otherwise yes, I used a Tile, Modified 2 x 2 Inverted reference 11203 for the underside of the dominoes. :) 16 hours ago, cheetor1981 said: That is pretty cool. A Lego version of Mahjong would be neat too. I don't know Mahjong's game well :) Thanks for the comment. 11 hours ago, Vindicare said: I love this. I’m a big fan of “real” items being built in LEGO.
