Which Train Motor is this ?

Recently found this motor in my Grandchildrens Lego Boxes.

Can't determine what voltage it is.

Is it rare ?

4.5V TypeC 1976-80. The red bit on the top should confirm the voltage.

12v versions existed but the red bit was yellow..

Thanks for the info. The red bit has 4V on it.
