This is quite an interesting sail build. So it is all brick built so that we won't leave the sail hanging around if we are to build the B and C model. Now it makes sense.

The alternate builds might be different ships which could also have sails.

Alternate builds are actually a Tavern and an Island.

I think 2 non-ship builds are fine, considering the Pirates of Barracuda Bay surprised us with a full ship build with real sails, that's even based on the 1989 classic.

Would be interesting if they'd have a Captain Ironhook inspired figure in this set to have 2 rival ships.

I don't know about you lot, but the reveal of today's Pirates of Barracuda Bay set has got me even more excited to see how this 3-in-1 Pirate Ship turns out.

Good time to be a Pirate fan.

Same here, I'm more likely to keep the IDEAS ship intact, and the 3-in-1 set would be more for custom mocs at some point.

The ship just seems so tall in the back and oddly in the front. Don't mind the look though, gives us something different.

Splendid, I'm almost certainly going to pick this up.  Since the sails and pirate logo are brick-built, it'll be easy to leave the skull and crossbones off the foretopsail and make it a merchant ship for the Barracuda to plunder.  Can't wait for hi-res pics.  Is this going to be a June release?

Plenty of studs to add tiles on those sails for different factions or act as a merchant ship, I think that's one main positive of those brick sails.

I predicted it would have Tan plates to act as a Beach in alternate builds, but it just works fine with the overall color scheme.

Wish I could see the picture. Facebook/Instascam are kind of a no-go for me.

*Edit* Used my wife's account; I agree with the above posters - the poor thing looks like it is missing a desperately- needed center section.

I'll still probably buy one, but the brick-built sails are a nonstarter for me.

Not super thrilled but probably still buying it. It might look cool next to the pirate bay. 6+? That doesn't sound encouraging :)

Brick sails are great for modifying purposes and canvas sails are my least favorite part on any ship, although I understand the necessity.

I wonder how all the curved hull pieces will be used in the alternate builds, which often seem lacking even when the main build is more suitable for transformation.

The front figure doesn't look like it belongs but the stubby look - I like. Might look cute IRL.

There is a version of the first photo in a bit higher quality on which we can see the minifigs.

Where did you find the better quality?
