SirNadroj Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Hello! I thought I may as well post these here. Just a few random, custom minifigures; many of which have some Speed Racers minifig element in them. That whole theme has some of the best minifigures! Here's the first: Monkey Man! (A monkey-themed superhero!) Second, the Evolution of Nannan (See the original fig in this MOC by Nannan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nannanz/2444496938/ Joesph Stalin (Using Pop's head. It worked way too well. Scary. ) And an updated Trixie and Speed from Speed Racer. (The hair is much more accurate!) Thanks! Feedback is appreciated! Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 (edited) Monkey Man looks great. I really love that head - is that the commentator's? Nevermind, it seems to be Grey Ghost's. You're right, Uncle Joe's head looks nigh perfect. Dovchenko's cap/torso work very well too. That head would work well for Daniel of There Will be Blood too Nice work, Nadroj. What with all of the great figures, I'm rather temped to buy the large Speed Racer set now. Edited May 11, 2008 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
Shadows Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Excellent purist customizing here! I like seeing what can be done with new torsos, and these are all fantastic. In my head, I'm trying to sing the Monkey Man theme song, which sadly doesn't exist. It's quite a challenge, but it involves bananas. Great job! Quote

Wilhelm screamer Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Is Monkeyman's torso a decal, or is it from some old set that I have never heard of? Stalin creeps me out. Quote

Atoll Dweller Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Wow! I really like all of these minifigures! I have a question though. Is Monkey Man's arch-nemesis named Black Puma or Black Panther? Because on Flickr it says Black Puma, but here it says Black Panther. Quote

Because on Flickr it says Black Puma, but here it says Black Panther. Thanks! Someone said there was a Marvel character named "Black Panther". The name sounded vaguley familiar, so I changed it to Puma. I was originally gonna go with Puma, but Panther seemd more evil. Quote
Faramir Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Like all of them a lot. Should I... possibly... consider buying Speed Racer sets? You're right, the Stalin one is pretty scary ! Faramir Quote

MrCustomizer Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 (edited) I haven't seen Speed Racer yet, but when I saw the Irina Spakino (or something like that) minifigure, I was like, why didn't they give that hair to Trixie?!?!?!? I am glad that you improved the minifigure. Edited May 14, 2008 by MrCustomizer Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Strange. i just finished a school project on the diary of Anne Frank (in which i obviously used lego , much to my teachers dismay ). i used the Pops head for Adolf Hitler (though i didn't use the fig), and it too was strangely realistic.......... scary Quote
SirNadroj Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 Wait, is that monkeyman from Hey Arnold? You're one of only two people to make the reference (though mine isn't based off of the Hey Arnold! one. Here's Chains! And Chris Hansen (of Dateline NBC) What are you doing here? Thanks! Quote
