Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 (edited) Hi, I am Captain Cookie and this is my Pirate Training Program. Today we are heading for lesson four: Cannons. Again there are many pitfalls that need to be avoided. This, for instance, is field artillery. Stay away from these guys and their guns. Proper cannons for pirates are available in different sizes: But you will need more than just one man to operate your cannons. A decent approach for a pirate ship will look something like this: And again, there is the danger that your crew and your cannons are too small: Neat, but no so effective, though the bear can be a fierce opponent in hand-to-hand cobat. So you might want to go for something bigger. But beware: Do not get yourselves entangled in the much-feared "size matters" discussion! So, seriously: Do not try this at home or on your ship! And now the homework for the next lesson: How many different sorts of parrots exist and which of them make a good companion for a pirate of decency? Arrr. Kwatchi Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I'm starting to fear I have been doing piracy wrong all this time. Quote

Well it is good that you are attending the lessons now. Never to late to improve! 14 hours ago, dr_spock said: Same here. I thought size matters for a bomb ketch. That is an advanced topic! I did some attempt at bomb ketches some seven years ago: .. 1 hour ago, Bart said: Why did you mention that, I just layed the keel for a bumb ketch :O and a biggest gun for it. Go for it! I want to see it, although - as mentioned above - this is a topic for advanced practitioners. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Another great topic. But if size doesn't matter, why do the pirates with the biggest cannon looks so happy? Great job of head choices for those minifigs. And for some reason I'm drawn to that simple but cleverly designed palm tree. Perfect design for the venue. Quote

Bodi Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I like the way the story is told, lot of fun, and I'm also a fan of these guns. Keymonus Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Although I'm not a pirate, I've followed all your lessons and they are simply great! Hilarious vignettes and nice cannon design! Quote
