Asuka Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 A nice little story.... and, hmm.... a swimming pool filled with LEGO, that´s it! Quote
Brickmaster Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Heh, nice and comical read, and probably useful to some people in a relationship with a lego addict Quote
Corvus Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 They must wear shoes in the house? Are they insane? Socks, yes, but shoes? Shoes are death to Lego. Quote
Alice Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Thanks for this, it made me laugh. I am in love with an AFOL . I say join them (and I now say that I am an AFFOL, to some extent anyway). My life has been more fun since I added Lego and I am finding my own theme interests. Now, we both have Lego all over the place and it's crazy fun. I agree with a lot of her statements and we have thoroughly planned for a future "Lego room" and are still looking at how we actually want to organize it all. We have also already discussed that our honeymoon will be at least partially in Denmark. Crazy, yes.. but again, incredibly fun. Quote
WhiteFang Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Nice story. I really envy those couples whom is able to accept their other half completely for their addiction towards LEGO. While mine, is a totally complete mess that wants to make me give up my obsession towards my love of LEGO. I always get very irritated when she place embargo on my LEGO shipments and I will have to go through smuggling operations. Trying to be rational and explaining things to her does not help. But, it's always seemed so impossible. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Thanks heaps for the great read, gylman. My wife is about to read it in a few minutes. Where can i get this life sized shed lol Quote

Siegfried Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 They must wear shoes in the house? Are they insane? Socks, yes, but shoes? Shoes are death to Lego. Very true! I have highly trained feet and I never break Lego, even if I stand on it! But I wouldn't dare try the same trick with shoes on... Quote
Sir Dillon Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Very true! I have highly trained feet and I never break Lego, even if I stand on it! But I wouldn't dare try the same trick with shoes on... Oh, I had been under the impression that you always wore your boots, "just in case". Thanks for the link Gylman, it was a fun read. Quote
Siegfried Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Oh, I had been under the impression that you always wore your boots, "just in case". It's funny that you say that as I feel that way about my boots when I go out. But around home I never wear shoes... but how would you know this? Have I said this before? I'm a little weirded out right now... Quote
Norro Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 It's not your wife writing is it Gylman... God Bless, Nathan Quote
gylman Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 LOL. Nah, I'm blessed with a very understanding wife. She (correctly) realizes that this is a hobby that is far less expensive and far more family-oriented than practically any other hobby a man can have. I don't see what beef any sensible wife would have with an AFOL husband. Would she rather he hunted? Or rode motocycles? or gambled? Quote

Svelte Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Heh heh. Sorry I weirded you out. I was more just referring to the whole 'shiny booted torturer' thing. The secret life of Sinner's boot fetish revealed. Intriguing... yet disturbing. *Looks thoughtful* Quote

I'll have to say something stupid on the forum so I can get that changed; it seems to be a window into my soul... The secret life of Sinner's boot fetish revealed.
