I've tried I couple but they don't work and I think I need the correct file type. Does anyone know of one I can get?

it kind of worked, but stud.io seems to recognise it as just one part, or as in the screenshot, 2 parts. Is there a way I can resolve this? or is it just not the right file type or something.

Those are submodels: hierarchical groups of parts and submodels to ease the build, the instructions, repetitions, etc.

Here the build has been separated (at the top level) between the forklift itself and the palette it carries.

Click on one, and look at the status line (the semi-transparent line at the bottom of the model), you’ll see possible actions.

Thank you SylvainLS, but is there a way to completely separate them so it's like normal? I'm very new to stud.io so I don't know how to do much.

If you’d done as I said (select one and look at the status line), you’d have seen the actions “Edit” and “Release”.

“Edit” enters the submodel (the whole model is still visible but transparent) and you can then move, change or delete its parts (and submodels).

“Release” breaks the submodel into its parts (and submodels, it’s not recursive).  They are not grouped anymore.

You need to explore and try yourself to learn.

Also, see the links here:

This is an alternative model, the LEGO group often makes sets with only two models available (A and B), I propose here to build a third model with your box, I mean with the pieces you have, you can build it.What I'm selling here is the full building instructions I created with Studio. There are 215 steps and they are easy to understand.it kind of worked, but stud.io seems to recognise it as just one part, or as in the screenshot, 2 parts. Is there a way I can resolve this? or is it just not the right file type or something
